  1. I've ridden in dusk with a dark smoke visor, my eyes seem to be able to adjust ok since there isn't any bright light "leaking" in to blind me. Since I'm on temps I can't ride at night anyway. When it comes to it I'll probably just cary my clear one in one of the bags.

The cheap bottle bleeders work great IMO.
  3. My 30gal saltwater cube. The anemone at the very top and the other corals I've had for a year in another tank. The only vertebrates are the 2 percula clownfish.
  4. keeps your beer tacticool
  5. Puke stories?? hmm When I was a kid we had a dog that got carsick. I was in the back seat with him... Did you know dogs are capable of projectile vomit too?
  6. Getting the odds and ends done. Finally got around to giving the chain some love. Moved to a bigger storage unit closer to the new appt. But I'm mostly trying to get seat time when weather allows. I checked on registration for the BRC last week because I forgot to check earlier. Looks like I'll be trying to walk in.
  7. I pulled the panel, opened it up and saw broken solder joints for some of the connector pins. You can tell because when you are looking at the back of the circuit board where the pins are soldered you should not be able to see them move when you wiggle each pin. If you see one move that's a broken joint that must be resoldered.
  8. A friend of mine had the blinking 4x4 problem on his silverado a few years ago. Some of the switch panel connector pin solder joints had failed. I pulled the switch panel, opened it up and resoldered the pins. All was good after that. If you are near the cincinnati area I could help you out. Probably takes an hour tops (I'm slow). Ofcourse it may not be the same problem, but it's worth a try since it's free and doesn't hurt anything in the process.
  9. Not that it would have been an option.. but have you seen the tow dollys for bikes? you strap the front tire into it and the rear tire freewheels. At under $200 shipped its cheaper than a trailer for 1 bike, easier to store since its smaller, and better mpg than pulling a trailer.
  10. Looks like they overcame the whole spin problem by using a stabilising parachute. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Excelsior Imagine falling for 15 minutes!
  11. I believe Nasa did some high altitude fall testing early on and concluded that you would eventually get caught in a "death spin".. and, well die. Don't know what altitudes they were doing though.
  12. 30Gal back drilled cube with refugium sump. The Chaetomorpha algea is the only filter besides the rocks (biofilter).
  13. I have no problems with the whole marriage thing. Some of the happiest people I know are in a same sex relationship. However, maybe I'm wierd, but I find it depressing to see hot lesbians.
  14. I was looking at progressive springs for my bike, but couldn't find the spring rate range so it's useless realy. they are "one size fits all", which we all know is always best . If you are a heavy guy you are just going to compress the softer part when you sit on the bike and be left with the stiffer part only. This would be fine if it didn't mean your rebound is going to be very difficult to tune. I opted to take the nearly free route and cut down the stockers.
  15. Fearmongering If a massive firefight of untrained hysterical people has ever errupted, don't you think everyone would have heard of it? Infact I believe the opposite happens.. If you have little to no training or range time and you just got surprised by the deafening sound and concussion of close gunfire; How confident would you be to pull out a weapon and immediately become target #1?
  16. Clownfish pair (percula), a few dwarf hermit crabs, a few nassarius snails Rock anemone, candy coral, star polyps, clove polyps, red and green zooanthids, richordia.
  17. Another form of body modification. Very tight fitting corset worn for extended periods. Eventually it becomes "permanent" as the organs and bones grow into the new position. Like ink or piercings, I don't tend to find it unattractive, but not particularly attractive either.
  18. I do it because I'm stubborn and being a new rider I'm taking every chance I can to get some experience in. I've gotten thumbs up from cagers thinking I'm crazy going out in these temps lol. Though, cooler weather does harden up soft tire compounds so I just put around.
  19. Yep, Sofar all I've done is saltwater. So that's what I'm used to. It's an interesting perspective coming from salt looking into fresh. It may not seem so different, same basic principals, but the devil is in the details. I was reading up on it a while ago. Seems in a heavily planted tank with alot of light the plants need more co2 to grow. So co2 injection is used. But if you found the right balance thats pretty cool.
  20. I wouldn't demand someone gets fired. But I would raise a stink about paying for my vehicle to be abused. It's up to them to make the decision if it's costing them money.
  21. I won't go to a shop unless I'm forced to. And I'll hang around until it's finished. Even oil change places will lie to you. If the filter is too difficult to get to they just change the oil and send you on your way. I bet most Nitros and late model liberties still have the factory oil filter.
  22. Beautiful tank! I've always wanted to try a planted tank, but have been weary since it's a whole different science than saltwater. I decommissioned my 65gallon reef (downsized to 30gal cube) and have been thinking of using it to make an ohio biotope tank with some bluegill and such. If they get too big I can just put em in the pond out back and catch some littluns to start over.
