  1. Straight up trade for a full carbon, completely built, freestyle stand-up jetski worth $15-18k? Shot in the dark...
  2. Dannggg it! Why do you have to tempt me like this... Do you know what weight rider the suspension is sprung for? Is the frame and subframe straight?
  3. That's what I'm debating doing... Thinking about selling my jetskis since I don't have anyone to ride with anymore and buying a newer, already built track bike. Either an R6 or 675...
  4. Any recommendations for cheap front & rear upgrades?
  5. Suspension is stock and has never had an oil change, aside from being set up by the guys at Mid-O. I'm assuming the springs should be somewhat close, as I weigh about 170, maybe 185 with gear.
  6. Now that my season is over, I'm planning out my 2004 R6 track bike mods for the winter. Right now I'm just planning on safety wiring everything, repairing damaged race fairings, and swapping out the stock tail fairing for a race fairing. The only mods I've done so far have been rearsets, race fairings, exhaust, clip-ons, and 520 chain +2 rear sprocket. What should I do next? What would give me the best bang for my buck? Suspension upgrades? Quick shifter? Power commander and tune? My goal for next year is to hit a 1:39 at Mid-O...
  7. That seems like a pretty damn good deal!
  8. Figures my bike craps out as soon as the track dries out! Felt like it was hitting a rev limiter randomly around 8-10k under load. Idles fine and revs freely in neutral. Congrats on the free year of track days and the slicks! I'm not sure what I'm going to do with my aluminum cups... probably mix up epoxy in them when I'm repairing my fairings this winter. Still had a better time standing around bullshitting than being at work!
  9. Anyone else going? Weather is looking sketchy, but F it, taking a day off work and riding/hanging out at the track for free sounds too good to pass up. Especially since it'll be the last chance I get before winter.
  10. What do you even do with 300hp on a track? Endless wheelies after every apex? This thing has got to have a MotoGP level electronics package...
  11. They send you an email, you have to RSVP to it.
  12. I ended up going to a job interview instead of the track day... wish I would have went to the track day instead as it did not go well. Fingers crossed for Oct 7th!
  13. I rode the twilight on Sunday and I think there was only one or two wrecks. Worst day of the year for me though, I was so nervous and was riding like crap. Definitely should have gotten back on the bike sooner after wrecking. I was running about ten seconds off my usual pace all night and didnt start feeling comfortable until the last 30 min or so. Probably should have done a full track day to get my wits back before doing a twilight, but the schedule didn't permit it.
  14. This one is easy, just get a 2011+ Speed Triple and swap for the round headlights. While the 600s have plenty of power, it's in all the wrong places for daily street riding in my opinion. It sucks having to constantly row through the gears at 10k+ just to go anywhere. On the triple, I just crack the throttle open in any gear/RPM and go. I cannot stand riding the R6 on the street anymore (for my daily commute anyways).
  15. With fall closing in and the temperatures dropping for the last few track days of the year, my question is, at what point does the ambient temperature start affecting traction? Primarily at Mid-O. I rode last year during October and I think it was in the 50-60s with a slightly damp track and it was sketchy as hell. Of course, I'm sure the cloud cover would have quite a bit to do with it too. A sunny day is going to keep the track surface temps up. Generally speaking though, at what point do you have to start backing off?
  16. The point isn't that she needed a full auto, the point is that it's damn fun to shoot them!
  17. Kicking myself in the ass for not calling off work and riding...
  18. Shoot, try riding the free day in mid October with a damp track! Sketchyyyy! Maybe it will be warm and dry this year...
  19. Maybe the twilight this Sunday if the weather holds out, or the twilight on the 7th.
  20. Ah, that makes sense. Never read that article before.
  21. That dude is a beast... Although how long can he really live doing that kind of shit? Eventually someone is going to change lanes unexpectedly and it's going to be over.
  22. The R6: installed new rear sets, then promptly crashed it and wrecked said rear sets. Also replaced the broken windscreen, broken exhaust, broken clipon bar, damaged rear set pieces, broken levers, and leaking coolant lines. Cleared the oil out of the hydrolocked cylinders and replaced the spark plugs. Should be ready for the next track day. Speed Triple: Replaced the modified 2010 header (long story) with a proper 2011 header and new exhaust crush gaskets to get it ready for a dyno tune. Still have an exhaust leak, FML. I also changed the oil.
  23. How much are the cabins? What kind of pace do you guys normally ride at on the street? I've never been to the gap before but it looks like fun!
  24. Chuck, I think you're right. It sounds like the RPMs drop off a bit right before it goes down.
