If you do go out with a friend, be sure to chip in on gas money. Don't be that dick! I don't ask for money when I take people out skiing, but it's usually at least $100-150 a trip between the truck and the skiis.

The best boat is the one you don't own. Get a friend with a boat and go out with them...

I think Trek has demo days at Alum Creek a couple times a year. They usually have their full lineup of MTBs there for you to ride. I'm on a Trek Fuel EX8 right now, but I'm probably going to pick up a used Santa Cruz Bronson this fall or next winter. I rode a rental Bronson in MOAB and loved it...

Damn, that's hauling ass! My best is a 1:45... on an R6.

Finally made it to Grand Prix karting on Saturday! It wasn't too busy, we ended up waiting about 20 min before our heats started. Had a group of nine people and they made sure we all raced the same heats. It was a blast! Best indoor place I've been too as far as track layout, grip, and kart performance goes. I used to go to Speeds all the time for the weekday $50/4hrs unlimited, but this place is a step up for sure. If they did something similar during the week I would be down there all the time. My times kinda sucked, I was running low 34's, while a buddy of mine who autocrosses/drifts was running about a half second faster. One guy in our heats was running low 33's, good enough for top 5 of the month. Grip was good for the fairly chilly indoor temps and the tire temperature made a huge difference from the start of the heat until about 3-4 laps in. We had stopped by Buckeye Raceway, a new indoor place with electric karts, before going to GP Indoor. There was a 1.5 hour wait because a small group had rented out the track, so we drove to GP instead. The karts at GP appear to be much faster, but the track at Buckeye was smaller, tighter, and had no straights. Heats at Buckeye are 10 min vs 8 min at GP, and the prices are a bit cheaper too. Can't wait to go back to GP! I'll probably go back down there in 3-4 weeks and do six heats to make the drive worthwhile.

Neat, but $30k?! I would rather have this for $5k. A crazy ass friend of mine built it, if only I had $5k to blow and a place to store it... http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/4855046810.html

Niiiice! So are you going to move to Lexington or just live out of your trailer for the summer?

Sweet, I'm gonna pick up 5 of them.

Any info on the gift cert discount this year?

Not this shit again... It's not found on your car because of the 1st law of thermodynamics. The same reason there isn't a giant windmill on the back of your car generating electricity. It only works in the realm of troll physics... NVM... you guys beat me to it

If this does end up happening, they should at least restrict it to STEM majors so the US might be able to get something back out of it...

If you are looking for new appliances, I can send you a link to the Whirlpool friends & family discount website if you want to check out their prices. Sometimes you can find good deals but other times you can find better at Lowes. Send me your email via PM if you are interested. I get 1% on my credit card through United Federal credit union. I buy everything I can with it and pay it off as soon as the charges pop up. I've heard Chase has had 2% cards before, but never got an offer from them.

+1, I'm waiting to see if they have their January sale...

How much for a new seal on one side of a 2013 Speed Triple and an upgrade/rebuild on a 2004 R6 fork? I just picked up an Ohlins rear for the R6 and the front is in dire need of something for the upcoming season...

Anyone else think JT Barrett looks/acts exactly like Marlo from The Wire?

A friend's wife had one. Dumbest, most annoying, yappy fucking dog I've ever met. Would dart out the door every chance it got until it finally got hit by a car. Get her a real dog.

Mine have been brutal this season. If I even look at a dog or cat my face just explodes, which really sucks because I love dogs and cats. It seems allergy meds to little to help but I haven't tried the shots yet. I'm thinking about just saying fuck it and having my sinuses burned out. My mom had it done years ago and she hasn't had an issue since.

I'm thinking about picking up an enclosed trailer this winter to haul my bikes and possibly setting up a little fab/repair section in the front with an inverter TIG, small mill/lathe combo, air compressor, and generator. I do a decent amount of aluminum welding/machining/fab and figured I might be able to put it to use at track days in between sessions. There have been a few times where my track day ends early because something broke or I wrecked my bike and couldn't repair it. Think there would be any demand for this? I wouldn't rape people, but if I could make a few extra bucks here and there it might offset the cost of fuel and track fees...

PhD in Eng? Jebus... You're either a glutton for punishment or really F'n smart. Are you going to go for your PE license now? Look into the GE aircraft engine division in Cincinnati, sounds like your degree might be a good fit for them.

Go MTB. I would much rather have to drive to a trail then ride on the road. I ride my MTB five miles on the road to the local MTB trail regularly and I just cannot see how riding on the road would be fun for anyone. Maybe it's more fun with a group, but I doubt it. I wouldn't go with the cyclocross bike. You won't be able to ride it seriously on the road with a group and you won't be able to go on any actual MTB trails. Better to just get an actual MTB and get an extra set of wheels with hybrid tires if you want to do some street riding.

He never mentioned having it done... but knowing him he probably cleaned it thoroughly with a toothbrush, filled every chip with touch up paint, buffed/waxed it, then applied one of those water-repelling nanocoatings. Can't have a dirty undercarriage!

Ah, I didn't see that thread, thanks!

I'm thinking about getting my 2013 Tacoma coated with something petroleum-based. I should have done it last year when it was new, but I'm a hell of a procrastinator. I don't want to have it coated with that waxy stuff; my brother had his new Silverado coated with that and it didn't seem to work very well. I want to use something like Krown, but the nearest applicator is about 2 hours away from me. Anyone have any other recommendations?

Which model of Supercorsas do you run? Seems there are three levels - SC0, SC1, & SC2. How much do you want for the GPA Pros? How old are they?
-
So what is the general consensus on the best DOT race tire to upgrade to from the Q3s? GPAs? Supercorsa SCs? How many track days could I get out of them if I get down to the low 1:40s at Mid-O?
