If I ever build another car it's going to be a 2nd gen Miata with a mildly built LS1 and a turbo(s) rear mounted in the trunk. I'm thinking 600whp with all those torks should make for a plenty fun 2500lb street car.

Brad Herring, we call him B-Rad

I'm a project engineer for Whirlpool with a mech degree. It's a boring and stressful job, but the pay is decent. Honda might be a bit more interesting. Don't bother with a 2 year degree, go straight for the four... I've got a friend working as a transmission tech at the Honda R&D center; from what he tells me, an engineering job there would be the cat's ass. Hard to get in there though.

I was thinking "damn that thing sounds just like a nasty rotary" for the first half of the first video posted... then the camera angle changes and shows the RX7.

Where to find highest prices on oem parts?
Limitedslip7 replied to Gixxus Christ!'s topic in LBTS GLWS
Eh, insurance companies do their best to screw you over every chance they get. Get a chance to return the favor and I say go for it... -
I've got a brand new set of Stoptech front brake pads for an Evo X. Paid ~$70 + shipping for them from the LancerShop, asking $50 OBO. I can drop them off in Cbus the next time I'm down there or ship them in a USPS flat rate box for $8.

Silver Honda Ridgeline w/ Blackouts on Hard Rd.
Limitedslip7 replied to hpfiend's topic in Passing Lane
So I was driving down Hard Road the other day in my mom's BADASS Ridgeline, when I came across this poser in a twin-turbo ZR1 Corvette trying to act cool. I piped him to let him know whats up and he got the hit and tried to take off. Luckly, my Ridgeline is AWD so I briefly spun all four wheels before hooking up like a BAUCE and reeled his ass in. Put about 6 cars on him before I shut it down at 180mph. So what are you guys doing tonight? Anyone want to hang out somewhere on Sawmill? I just put a few more LEDs in my engine bay so everyone can see the awesomeness of my V6. I'm thinking about putting a cold-air intake on it, but then again, why bother when I can already smoke 1200hp Vettes with just an exhaust? -
It's gone, lock 'er up!

The car would be on South Main St if I'm home or Chicago Ave if I'm working in the garage. I will be down in Columbus tonight checking out a Taco at Germain if anyone wants to check it out. I could meet up wherever on that side of town.

Yea, it looks friggen sweet too. Sucks because now I can't get one in the dark grey color. I put the car up for sale on here and EvoM. Best price you'll find on a 10!

2008 Evo 10 OB GSR with 42,xxx miles. Has the Aero package. Non-smoker, interior is in very good shape. No tears or holes in the seats. JA3AW86VX8U044854. Mods: Blouch 2.0 Turbo Downpipe back custom dual exhaust (loud) 850cc injectors ACT HD clutch ARP headstuds Walbro fuel pump Slowmotion aluminum IC pipes Hallman MBC Custom Reese hidden hitch (I have a very nice folding Thule 2-bike rack I can include for a few extra $) The car was tuned by Cory at Slowmotion for 25psi on pump and 30psi on racegas. I'll have to dig up the dyno sheet, but it made over 400 on pump and 470 on racegas. I have been running it at 23psi since I bought it. History: I'm looking at buying a Tacoma here in the next week so I might just trade the car in, but I figured I would put it up here to see if there is any interest in it first. I purchased the car in 2010 with all of the performance mods and tune already done. I have been using it as my DD since then and it has been very reliable until last winter. The AYC pump went out and the timing chain stretched within the same damn month. I rebuilt the AYC pump with a rebuild kit and used electric motor from ACD-Tuning. I completely tore the pump down, cleaned it out, and sealed it up with RTV. I then coated the outside of it with thick marine grease and bled the system. No issues since. The timing chain did not jump any teeth and was replaced with an OEM chain of the new design. I also upgraded the fuel pump/injector relays just to be on the safe side. The bad: -This was my DD so there are a few chips, dings, and scuffs. The clearcoat on the top of the front bumper and top of the driver side doors get hazy, but still look good after waxing. -The wheels have some rash and the powdercoating in the centers is bubbling. -There was a stutter/hesitation between 2500-3000 when in vacuum under about 25-50% throttle, but I took it back to Cory who made a few small changes to the variable cam timing in that range and mostly cleared it up. I think it could use a little more work to get it perfect. Pics: http://s104.photobucket.com/user/limitedslip7/library/Evo%20X Any additional pics can be added upon request. I'm asking $19700, but feel free to make me an offer. This probably won't be available for long as I'm looking at Tacomas right now and may just trade it in. Pick up only, and I do still owe some on it so my credit union would have to mail the title to you. I am located in Marion, Ohio and you can call/text 740-361-5337.

What do you guys think of the Frontier as an alternate to the Tacoma?

I chucked the stock parts during a move a while back...

I've decided to trade my 2008 Evo X in for a Tacoma as I never really drive it hard anymore and I'm tired of borrowing my buddies truck to tow bikes and jetskiis. I started looking for a deal on a 2013 and damn, there is hardly any inventory out there, let alone deals. I know some of you work in auto sales; anyone have a good lead on one? I'm looking for a V6 4wd access cab in white or red preferably, I would consider a 4 door as well. I might just trade my Evo 10 in on it, but I'm thinking I would probably get completely screwed so I might sell it private. Any ideas on how much I would get for it on trade? It's a 2008 GSR with 42k miles. It's got a few mods including a Blousch 2.0 turbo, full exhaust, injectors, clutch, etc.

Limitedslip7 replied to Hoblick's topic in Daily Ride
I stopped by Thiels Wheels three months ago when I was shopping for a Speed Triple. I was told by a buddy that they had a new 2011 that I could probably get cheap. They were were firm on the 12k+ MSRP! WTF!? Fuck those guys. I went and bought a used 2011 with 2k miles for $8500... -
Oct 7th Mid-o Frequent Rider Appreciation Day
Limitedslip7 replied to Limitedslip7's topic in Track is Crack
Well the weather is looking a bit better, showers in the morning but clearing up. Hopefully the track will be dry by lunch? How slippery is it when it's just damp? -
The absolutely perfect upgrade for you! Or maybe not. As much as I love my Speed Triple, I might just have to swap it out for the KTM here in a year or two...
-
Anyone going? Weather report keeps flip flopping, but it looks like it's going to be mid 60s with a slight chance of showers. I'm signed up for Intermediate, but if the Novice group only has a few riders I might bump down to enjoy some open track time. Do they do anything different at the free appreciation day or is it just a regular track day?
-
All that for only 1200hp? I'm sure it's fast and all, but I was expecting quite a bit more...
-
Mountain biking would be the only cardio I can stand to do for that long. Ten min of running on a treadmill and I'm ready to shoot myself...

Head Hunters - Staffing Agencies, Job Hunting.
Limitedslip7 replied to madcat6183's topic in Dumpster
I've never heard back from anything I've applied to on Monster or Careerbuilder, but I have been contacted many times by recruiters who have seen my resume on Careerbuilder. I used a professional staffing company called General Employment who got me a crappy engineering job after college. Kind of sucked, but it paid the bills for a while. They charge the client company a crazy amount (30% of first year salary!) so I'm sure it will hurt your starting pay if you go through them. I landed my current position through a recruiter who saw my resume on Careerbuilder.
