I consolidated all of my federal and private student loans though Lendkey with a variable rate. It's around 3.65% right now; I was paying between 4-6.5% on them before consolidating. I pay quite a bit more than the minimum payment but the minimum is much lower than it was before. Just consolidate your private loans through them and leave the federal loans alone.

Dang it! I bought 4 regular days instead of 2 and 2 because they were showing up cheaper...

Never met him but saw him at the track a few times. Seemed like a good guy on here. Shit like this always seems to happen to the good ones... RIP

They've already stolen two trailers (one of them mine) and about $7k worth of tools, so there is a good chance they will strike again at some point. Was planning on hiding my old smartphone with a tracking app and large battery pack in it if I ever get around to it. It will probably get stolen before I manage to do so...

Anybody want one of these? I bought one used in decent condition for $130 to use a bait trailer (trying to catch crackheads stealing stuff near the garage I use) but haven't had time to get everything set up. I would sell it for what I paid for it if anyone wants it.

I had lasik done 3-4 years ago. Cost was around 3500 and the procedure wasn't too bad. Had a few issues with dry eyes at first and they seemed drier than usual for the first year. Vision also seemed to vary a bit for the first year or two but has stabilized now. Sometimes my eyes do dry out and my vision gets noticeably worse, like after welding for several hours, then comes back once I use drops or rest. It didn't give me as good as vision I had with contacts but I'm supposedly 20/20 according to my eye doctor. I used to have a lot of trouble with my contacts and would definitely do it again...

Track a bike! Pretty sure it's cheaper. You can get a solid track bike for $2500-3000. I spent $500 on a nice set of used leathers and another $200 on gear from Iron Pony. I buy my Mid-ohio track days in January when they have their 25% discount for ~$150 each, then if buy four of them you get to go to the free track day at the end of the season. Works out to five full track days for $120 each for me each year. I spend about $20 on gas for the bike/trailer and another $10 on snacks/Gatorade (although they provide lunch and water/drinks with the track day). You can also pick up a set of Dunlop Q3's when they have their $50 rebates for around $200 or less that should last you the five track days depending on your pace. $180-200 total per track day is hard to beat!

On a side note, the customer appreciation day email was sent out a few days ago. Signed up for Intermediate group!

I'll agree with you on getting bumped, I was kicking myself in the ass all day for not showing up earlier or registering the day before. Totally my fault. Although, I've been walking on to I group for the past few years without any issues. I disagree with you on open track time though. The open track time at the end of the day is a great way to actually apply what you learned without having your hand held and is what got me hooked on track days. You learn a lot from getting a tow all day but it doesn't force you to find/use your own markers instead of just watching the bike in front of you. As for getting passed, N group would probably be the place to get used to it. With the lower speeds and straights-only passes, the occasional brake check or swerve likely won't end in catastrophe. Better to get used to it then than get bumped to I group and get buzzed mid corner right off the rip. I feel the new format might turn some of the new guys off to track days before they get to experience the joys of open track... I guess that would mean more space in I group though?

I wonder why they changed the N group format? I remember the open track after lunch with only passing on the front/back straights working out pretty well...

Yea it wouldn't have been bad if they still had the open track in N after lunch, but $350-400 for a whole day of following with no clean laps sucks. Coach Tony did show me a few line improvements though. Hopefully the weather will be nice for the customer appreciation day in Sept!

Yesterday was packed! First time I've ever not been able to walk on in intermediate. Got bumped down to novice which sucked pretty bad, especially since there was 32+ in N. Finally got a bump back up to I group with two sessions left and got back down to 1:46s so it wasn't a total waste... still better than being at work!

I'll be there on Tuesday! Just told the boss I'm not coming in tomorrow.

Go with TIG for sure. A little bit steeper learning curve but it will be worth it. You can weld anything with them and it will look far better. I think Lincoln has a good entry level inverter TIG now for a decent price, check out their Square Wave TIG 200 model. $1400 and does just about everything. I'm more of a Miller guy I've heard good things about it.

I drink two cups of crappy drip coffee every day at work. I usually get Starbucks on the weekends. I order four shots on ice, then just add milk after from the thermos they have sitting there. It's only $2.75 if you order it that way; if you ask for milk/cream added the assholes try to ring it up as an iced latte with extra shots, which makes the same drink $5+.

Can't wait for the 2nd season!

We're just going tent camping and are fine with primitive. Would be preferred actually. Really want something that would be as far away from everyone else as possible. Right next to the water would be great!

I'm planning a cabrewing/camping/MTB trip to Mohican here in a couple of weeks was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on places to stay. I've done this down in Hocking Hills before but it looks like Mohican has quite a few more campgrounds and canoe liveries. Of course, there will be drinking involved, so we would prefer to stay at or close to the canoe livery. Maybe someplace not quite as family-oriented?

I hope that's the case, I would probably do more twilights if so. I can keep up an intermediate pace without too much of a problem but always feel bad for holding up the advanced riders.
