  1. Looking forward to this, love the concept and the fact that the vehicles will be preselected. When I initially read it, my first thought was that the $3k cash will no doubt be spent on a cheap fox and an LS motor, then $7k at Summit to make it work.

    Aviation

Probably cheaper and easier to customize and maintain a hot air balloon. More likely to be able to see down women's shirts as well.* *Joe Dirt reference.
  3. What about a 12+ Wrangler with the Pentastar? Summer fun, winter capable, same drivetrain as your short list, and arguably the best resale value. You may be able to get some deals on leftover 17s also with the new redesign hitting lots now.
  4. I've had my '13 300c rwd for over 2 years now and still love it, but I will say it sucks in slick conditions, even with decent all seasons. Sounds good though with the mufflers deleted, not much visually different than a brand new one so it still looks fresh, and it's comfy. The 15-up have the 8 speed trans. I've never driven one to compare to my 5 speed, but it's supposed to be a big improvement.
  5. First attempt using IMGUR, not sure what I'm doing wrong.
  6. This is nasty. I love it!
  7. Am I the only one who thinks the Silverado, F150, Ram and Tundra all look similar now?
  8. RIP to a badass. As a kid raised on Mopars, the '70 Cuda AAR was always a favorite of mine, made me read into the history of it and Dan Gurney when I was around 10. I've loved the old Trans Am series stuff ever since.
  9. Crutchfield.com has several cheap head units and door speakers, they include installation hardware and instructions for free and ship super fast.
  10. Awesome, it's hard to beat Racestars on anything. Any reason why you chose 15" fronts instead of 17"? I assume there is some weight savings, but it seems like the 17s are more popular for looks anymore.
  11. Looking forward to following this. My grandpa has had a ton of cars in my lifetime, but one that always sticks out to me is a burgundy 944 with Fuchs and tan interior. He only kept it for a couple years, but I think what set it apart for me is it was one of the first cars that I remember spending a lot of time in joyriding with just the two of us. As a kid, hearing it wind out and seeing him grabbing gears felt like I was in a rocket ship, but I'm sure it was a turd. Lol
  12. My initial thought was my C5Z. Just an all around fun car that looked great and sounded amazing, but the more I think about it, my favorite just might be the CJ7 I owned for just a few months last year. Bought it cheap from my uncle and did a budget restoration on it, then took many, many warm weather cruises with my wife and our 5 year old car nut. Had a ton of fun in it, made some great memories and have really been thinking about that Jeep a lot lately. I only sold it because it had to be kept outside and I didn't want to see the weather get to it.
  13. Depending on what you're needing done or how far you're willing to travel, Darin Allen in Greenup, KY does incredible work at reasonable prices. He's on Facebook and posts a lot of his work on there.
  14. Just closed on the new house this morning and fortunately have Columbia, but not AEP. Thanks for the link, think I'll order the Ecobee3, can't convince myself to spend $175 on the 4 lol
  15. Rust. I have an '03 that I absolutely love driving, no exterior rust and the bottom of the truck looks really clean, yet I still had a brake line blow out a couple weeks ago. The good news is that Summit sells a complete prebent stainless kit for them cheap, mine was $75. Between Summit and Rock Auto, I replaced all lines, calipers, pads and rotors for like $350 in parts. I noticed the fuel lines near the drivers door looked a little crusty where the plastic clips are, looked fine elsewhere. I'm gonna hit them with some POR15 and hope they're good to go.
  16. Needs to have a blade that runs a pillar to a pillar, rests at the bottom of the windshield and would run up and down on channels in the a pillar when turned on. Could have an air deflector over top of it to remain aerodynamic.
  17. Unwind? What's that? The most relaxing part of my day is hanging out with my wife and little boy after work, but I do typically have some typ of project to work on that helps take my mind off of work or stress. I enjoy working with my hands, so I tend to constantly be looking for something to repair or improve. We just bought a new house and have a girl due in May, so my project list doesn't have any end in sight. Lol

    Resto Fox

I've never seen the Pony wheels in an 18", but Late Model Restoration sells them in a 17". If I ever own another Fox, 17" chrome Ponys will be the first purchase.
  19. B5 blue with white stripes such a beautiful combo on the classics. I'm not a buyer, but I'd love to see more pics of it.
  20. Badass car, great writeup. An early C3 with sidepipes is something I've always wanted, they're just flat out cool.
  21. Appreciate it, but I ended up driving to Springfield after work on Friday and picked up a set of the GM accessory wheels that look like Torq Thrusts. Once I figure out how to post pics again after the demise of photobucket, I'll make a thread for the new beater.

    RIP Hugh Hefner

Bet it was difficult for the coroner to establish a time of death for a man that's been stiff for 50 years.
