  1. I'll have to look into them. I'll give you one thing, it looks a hell of a lot nicer.....but it doesnt look as "coarse" so it might not provide as good traction as stompgrips. On another note, I guess I could use my stock rearsets and machine a plate to act as a riser. But then again, the grip on the stock peg is not the greatest, so I'd be buying a new peg anyhow.
  2. The only way I can get my outside leg really planted into the tank is by standing on my toe to make my leg as long as possible. It works, buy it kills my leg....actually had my calf cramp at Nelson when I was taking my boot off for lunch(stayed hydrated all day). I don't have the cash at the moment for adjustable rearsets unless I go cheap ebay or happen to get lucky with a deal. I'm just wondering if stompgrip would help keep my outside leg from floating around and give a more secure feeling? Or should I just wait, and put the $50 toward rearsets?
  3. guys at work showed this to me....they had broken it down into individual impacts. Watch the guy in the blue shirt, takes 3 hits to the face. Girl in the pink gets KO on the second good impact. Crazy...I'll stick to two wheels.
  4. ^thats what I did with zip ties on saturday. Looped a small tie through the case hinge point and used long ties to reach it back to the mirror base.
  5. little late but here is your video embeded http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8E5D3gqckGk& just copy and paste the full link "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8E5D3gqckGk&" and it will take care of the rest.
  6. Its just some stuff. My boots (smx5's and smx pluses) are smaller than I normally wear. Hell this weekend I wore two pairs of alpinestar gloves both in XL and both pretty much new. The GP plus in XL was so tight it that I couldnt even grip down on the bars, the GP pro in XL fit just about perfect. That being said, I am between XL and L in SP-1,2 and 3 gloves. Tried on a size 56(euro) 1 piece suit by alpinestar(cant remember the model) and it wouldn't zip around the chest. Bought a Spidi over the weekend and it is a size 54 and it has enough free space I should be able to throw in a back protector. Really you have to try the stuff on, take an educated guess, or ask for assistance when mail ordering.
  7. Could use a back protector...was looking for a small knox contour race, but it seems to be out of stock/clearance everywhere. Have any recommendations?

    2003 yz 250

Here is a pic from when I first got the bike.
  9. ^ 9:30 for me. Left the bike on the trailer with the straps loosened up and the front tire lifted in the wheel chock a little to stop the tire from deforming....think that is how its going to sit until beaver.

    2003 yz 250

2003 yz 250, new bottom end, "new" ebay clutch basket/hub/plates/steels that showed virtually no wear, new header pipe(old one is till usable too), full set of new plastics that are not on yet. hmmm there is more, can't think of the rest. Bike is in PA at the moment, I could bring it to eastern ohio, but further than that we would have to work something out. I may be able to get pictures taken if needed. Extremely strong running bike, hate to sell it, but I've only had it out 3 times since I bought it in the spring and I'm pretty sure I just got bit by the trackday bug. Looking to get $1700 out of it with all the goodies. If you wear size 10-11, I've got a pair of alpinestar tech3 boots I could throw in for $75 more.
  11. Oh yeah, cant wait for the next chance to get out on a track. It was so nice to just open it up without having to worry about cars, cops or shit on the road...just concentrate on what the bike and I are doing. Should have made it to the track a long time ago.
  12. :D:D:D:D ^About sums it up Great day, was in the novice group. Only downfall is it would have been nice to have more time....more time to sit around and BS, more time to ride the track, and more time for mess around with the bike. This is how the day finished up (ignoring the rain) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f5tqZOrvy80&
  13. Hope everything is going well at the track today, looks like weather may be rolling through. This is a portion of novice's last session where we were let loose. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f5tqZOrvy80& "Working on body position. Next time I need to practice harder braking instead of throttle modulation/engine braking to reduce the time spent slowing down before entering turns. Last few seconds I slowed up big time because I thought I almost lost the front, watching it frame by frame, the front tire struck a pothole as the bike was dropping into the turn." My lines and consistency could have been better, need to really force myself to recognize braking and turn in points. I know I could have hit the kink much faster, but nerves were holding me back.
  14. Great time today, looking forward to the next one. Thanks everyone who helped @ Motoseries along with everyone else I met today.
  15. bikes on the trailer ready to go now for the rest of the crap....this is rough considering everything is not organized at all in my new place
  16. Just to be sure, gopro's have to be tethered....do zip ties suffice? There any place to just throw a camera on a guard rail or the ground to get decent shots? Thanks TRMN8TR, I'll try and get there early and save some space too...normally pin on the south or north of the buildings?
  17. Shit, I think I have one but if I do it is in PA I'll help you unload, I'll be there at opening, white saturn grocery getter pulling a trailer. Where is the usual spot, wouldnt mind pitting along with some other memebers here to annoy the shit out of them with stupid questions
  18. Doc, if you want I'll take video of the ride and loan you my SD card and you can mail it back to me or something. I'm going to need it later in the month for my trip south, but I think your video editing skills trump mine by far.
  19. Yeah, sorry to hear that Doc, hope u feel better.
  20. Doc, you cave into the peer pressure yet?
  21. we are talking about Doc here, evening starts at midnight
