    Spreading the impact over an area works for the shovel because it is a relatively light impact.....hit someone on the head with a shovel and it will hurt and maybe break the skin and bone, but it wont cause the brain to smash up against the inside of their skull and cause real damage. You need to surround the head with a crumple zone to extend the impact over time, lessening the internal blow.

    looks like a non newtonian fluid, like supersaturated cornstarch. The back protector would be good for impacts but not for hyperextension. I don't think putting it in a helmet would make sense, since since it hardens up on impact....transferring the shock to your skull and brain; just the opposite of what you want to happen. Hip guards and things like that are an interesting concept since it would conform and distribute the load over a larger area.

    I think it was somewhere around 27 minutes in....I turn in and it looks like he doesn't brake at all unless it is last second; he did a damn good job saving it. I wonder if he got a speed wobble on the back straight or coming through the kink that pushed the pads back. When I was running my rains I kept getting pretty bad headshake coming out of the left kink and I'd have to double pump the brakes before the carousel to get the pressure built up.

    40 minutes of awesome... Actually about 30 minutes of awesome, then 10 minutes of me lapping all alone. 10 minutes in I catch hollywood, and we have a battle till the 20 is over; all the while Dan lurks in the distance. He picked it up after he realized I was running the 40. Wish he wouldn't have ran off in the carousel....it would have been a good race to the end and I could have used a little pressure to get me back on my marks. Had a couple good slides in 4 and a near run off in the carousel because I was getting lazy. Spotting a ton of areas I can pick up time in the video, but I'll take a 4 second improvement any weekend.

    Who is making the trip? On the fence? Need a ride? Have a trailer spot to fill? I need to make a trip to the Columbus area to pick up bike parts, so I'm considering adding another 6 hours(and who knows how much $) to the trip and going out to Putnam for Round 8. The bad part is, I'd be running the 40, so an early departure wouldn't be possible. I could potentially haul another bike(and person). It would be a tight squeeze in the car, but I think we could make it work if I don't bring camping gear. Or, I could fill a trailer spot on someone else's ride. Where does everyone stay since they don't allow camping? Looking for something cheap.

    Having some trouble getting the files from the 40 to play nice....till that is done, here is the 4th session from the Saturday trackday. You can kind of make out the little slide in T6 on the first and second lap...I'll have to cut out and post the real slide too.

    Jeff, we discussed this. Sell your bike and buy mine, then I'll use that money toward buying this. Or you could sell your bike, give me your other set of rims, and buy this bike.

    I'll get it posted up soon, probably throw it in here and the MotoSeries forum. I was trying to get the 40 up, then all the incidents I caught, then the session I followed R1dirtbikecrusher.

    Wow, great job avoiding Craig! And to all the other racers as well. I didn't even see Jinu on the track because I was setting up a pass on Kevin for the outside of 7....right where the bike ended up sliding to. Jinu, wow....glad you are alright! I was getting loose there on the first lap of a few sessions during the track day...immediately after pitching in, it felt like the ass end wanted to rotate around the bike with virtually no throttle application.

    Thanks again guys for helping lift my bike onto the trailer! I already strapped my ramp to the trailer, so it shouldn't be forgotten again.

    Just made it back home and got unpacked. PIRC claimed a lot of victims over the last couple days, heal up and get back at it! Had a blast as usual. Lots of video to edit/upload....swing arm mount turned out excellent.
