    GSXR Recall

I don't have any experience w recalls and I received a notice a few weeks ago. Is there a limited timeframe for this work to be performed? I wish they would allow for end user replacement....both my bikes are in pieces right now and the trailer is folded up in the corner for winter storage.
  2. Post up if you are signed up and we can start figuring rides out. If you are on the fence because you are unsure of a ride, post up...make sure to mention days you want to do. If you are just unsure, make up your damn mind! Im signed up for all 3 days. Right now it looks like Dan(jester) is hauling my bike and I'm driving down Friday and coming back monday night(late). He has space for at least 1 other bike and I could use some company for the ride I'm fine with my bike going in the bed of his truck, so a spot in the trailer is open. IMO I think we could get one more in there as well. Ron, I think your best option is to hook up with Dan to take care of the bike, then u and I can have some quality time on the way down.
  3. I'm going to make a show: Trackday preppers. We will figure the ride shit out. i can haul 2 bikes, 4 people but no gear if necessary.
  4. So tempted: http://tracktalk.nesba.com/showthread.php?t=32032
  5. I know you are quicker than I am, but I chose Int because I've never been there, I'll be rusty and there are going to be a lot of riders on track. I guess it also depends on how quick you adapt....it took me 2 days at Grattan before I thought it would be safe for me to bump up; on the 3rd day I really should have been in advance. I wouldn't mind getting my doors blown off by AMA guys or the close passes they may put on, but if I'm not confident and fairly consistent in my lines and knowledge of the track I'd rather be in Int for the safety factor even if it means no clean laps. Still considering calling about running expert/advance monday, but all the talk is making me second guess it lol
  6. I guess you are right, just checked on racetireservice and they can fit 5.5" rims. Might be interested in a rear or 2....need to check what tires I have.
  7. ^ I've got an extra helmet, gloves and a set of warmers you can borrow. The rear is fried, but you can make it work. Jeff, I know it was me everytime I look at my bank account.
  8. I should have never talked Dan into going to the track.....now my title is in jepordy for 2014!
  9. In that case Jeff, you should go to the casinos, win big, then take us all to NYST later in the year.
  10. Ran into a bit of an issue when installing my exhaust. I got the spigots(if that is what they are called) installed....they were not going in because the previous owner overtightened everything to the point of deforming and crushing them slightly. Cleaned them up with sandpaper and lightly hit the outside so they could be tapped into place, not sure how they will ever come out because it was still a tight fit. Next up I went to install the clamps....and that is where the real issue resides. They seem to be bent, but I've never installed a full system before. I can say the ears hit the embosses on the head before the clamp hits the spigot. 3 out of the 4 have a good curve to them....enough that it actually opens the clamp up to the point they barely catch the edge of the spigot. I'm pretty sure it is cast iron too, so if they didn't come like this originally, I'm not sure how they could bend this far without breaking. Not the greatest pics.
  11. I'd hit sunday/monday in hopes monday is lighter attendance, but I have a feeling it is going to be busy all 3 days.
  12. if only they were 190's
  13. No talking about wadding shit up, buy some spares and ride it like you stole it.
  14. Hope you can make it Chuck, the trip won't be complete without the smell of premix and the ring a ding ding of that 500. Not sure of their passing rules, but videos of intermediate show some mostly outside passes with a little on the inside, but nothing aggressive.
  15. Well, I'm signed up for Jennings 8-10. Registered for intermediate, but I'm going to call and see if I can change to expert for Monday.
  16. ^this High of 77* in Jennings today and overnight low of 58*.
  17. More quotes lol JENNINGS....or where ever, I just want to got to the track and have some fun!
  18. Registration for Jennings track days are now open up to March 8-10! Imagine these days fill up just as fast as the private weekends adjacent to Jennings trackdays....so pretty much now or never! Mass quote action to get some attention from everyone who was seemingly interested.
  19. I was curious last night when I saw the news so I looked up the location using the reports and the images: 34.453319,-118.578994 Looks like they were going East on Hercules toward Constellation. A few of the images show skid marks toward the accident site starting on the West and leading in at a pretty steep angle. They were right down the road from a speed shop owned by the driver. The shop & Walker were hosting a toy drive/charity event and the people there heard the accident happen. My guess; taking a quick break from the event to turn a couple laps around the complex(or thats what everyone was doing all day). Add in a little oversteer and a lightpole or tree. Hope they died on impact and didn't suffer. The movies were stupid as hell, but he was a real car guy. RIP

  21. Keep in mind there is also the hero3+.
  22. Going nuts.....want to do a track day so bad....riding on the street is fun, but just not the same anymore. Grattan, I miss you....next year I promise I'll stop screwing around being the king of intermediate and bump to advance so we can spend some quality time together. I also promise I'll bring tire warmers that work so the first two laps are not completely pointless.
