  1. exactly.....out in the woods....getting one with nature....tripping balls Not saying they were, just the whole situation, including the result seems odd.
  2. We are talking Saturday Night? I'd be down for something as long as I don't end up coming back to Cleveland.
  3. I wasn't calling them stupid, just the decision to call someone(anyone) instead of using the time to figure an escape route. In any account, it sucks that they died because of a few mistakes.
  4. Doubt they were calm, or they would have realize how stupid calling for help was. Hard to fault them though, it got them saved once a few minutes/hours earlier. I wonder if they were tripping.
  5. Maaaaaybe. I was hoping to try new tracks this year, but Grattan was so fun and there is so much to learn there I think it justifies a return visit.
  6. I'm just feeling it out, never even messed with my shock settings before. Threw it on the bike, bounced it a few times; seemed about level on comp and rebound so i weny out on the track.
  7. Craig, is the bike doing anything you don't like on exit? I ask because everything I've seen associates the rear suspension geometry with exit and the front with entrance. You get interaction, but the effects are more pronounced.....like if you jack the rear up too high trying to influence trail and turn in, the antisquat will drive the rear end under you, hindering exit. If you could do it without impacting swing arm angle that would be one thing, but I'm not seeing how that is possible without an adjustable swing arm pivot. Traxxion had a chart saying 4 to 1 ratio from front to rear....changes made to the front effect turn in a factor of 4 while effecting exit 1. Changes made to the rear effect turn in 1 while changing exit 4.
  8. Thinking about it more I was wrong in my previous post. Spacers are changing your top eye location, adjusting the shock changes the length. If the shock only worked in a straight line, and the clevis was inline with the body of the shock, then it would be the same. Neither of those are true, so they will have slightly different impacts; however, I doubt it would be too much of a difference since the angle between the clevis and shock is not really exttreme...at least on gsxrs.
  9. That may have been something google killed during their "refocusing" on core products. They killed reader, listen, wave and a bunch of other shit. Was pissed about reader, I used that app/site constantly for at least 3 years.
  10. That is weird, in either case(shims or adjuster) you are just expanding the length of the shock from one mount to the other; and everything else remaining the same, increasing ride height and swing arm angle. Only way to really adjust them independently, from what I understand, is an adjustable swing arm pivot.
  11. You talking using preload or actual shock length/ride height adjustment? Jeff, so the shock only has 12 mm of overall travel. I'll have to check mine tonight.
  12. Either that or nyst, but that would take some vacation time. I think a Grattan weekend would be doable without taking Friday or Monday off.
  13. That was what I was hoping to hear
  14. the penske has ride height adjustment, hopefully I won't need spacers because I just gave a couple away to someone with a stock shock
  15. My plan was going to be: Run a few laps to get everything warmed up Verify sag front and rear; adjust if needed. Measure swing arm angle fully unloaded. Adjust shock length until swing arm angle is in the 12.5* range, splitting it up and riding along the way to see how it feels on drive out of the carousel and 13. Really, I'd be jacking up the rear ride height(assuming that it isn't already in the range I'm looking for) just using the swing arm angle as my gauge instead of eye to eye length of the shock. Forks have already been lowered in the triple, so if it does need raised up, it would be leveling out the bike. I compared the shock eye to eye length to the stock one I pulled off and it was longer(dont remember values), just wanted to use swing arm angle as my basis since I can find better recommendations on that than shock eye to eye length.
  16. walk it off.....well first pick up your thumb
  17. Anyone have a good way to measure swing arm angle? Thinking of experimenting with geometry Friday.
  18. scrape enough of it together and you can still get into the races with it!
  19. Add Ryan to Friday and put in a note "broke pit bitch" beside Saturday. Depending on how Friday goes, I may run the 600 sprints and the 40.....hell, maybe 750gt too for $20 more.
  20. 24th and 25th? That is my birthday weekend.....
  21. Thanks guys! Jinu, figure that shit out now so you are not in a rush before the next time at the track. Craigiepoo's debut; 3rd session of the day. Watching the rear cam alone is weird, but he makes it worth posting.
  22. Lets just be honest, with all the traffic, this was the best part of that session. Hope you liked the view back there...might be seeing it again this weekend.
  23. I didn't forget! Should be up tomorrow...encoding now and will upload in the morning. Guess I didn't turn the front camera on for that session, because I couldn't find any that matched up.
