    Case Savers?

I'd love to run woodcraft; have their frame sliders and they worked great....twice, but the stator cover and crank protector would cost 1/3 of what I paid for my bike initially. I'm trying to keep as much money as possible going toward track time; so if I can spend a little time and make something that will save the case in the event of a lowside, I'll be happy.

    Case Savers?

Har har. Not planning on it, but might as well be prepared in case.

    Case Savers?

Anyone have any experience with cheap case savers? such as this I was thinking about modifying a new case cover to bolt on a stainless slider plate, but wanted to get an opinion on these first.
  4. happen to know their camping policy? I saw on their site about camping, but no details. Debating dropping the money for both or just hanging out for one and doing the CCW day. Never been there before.
  5. Anyone planning on making either of these days?
  6. Thinking about going Sunday and doing the trackday Monday.
  7. Pole to last place.... I couldn't drift this one for shit compared to #11, and it was much slower too.
  8. Thanks Marty! Really glad I didn't tie him up.
  9. Nice vids Jinu! I wish I knew that was you in the kink, I wouldn't have let up before if I was sure you wouldn't come in on me....have to say that angle is pretty damn cool. I'm going to have to trim the action shots out of my karting video and post it up tonight.
  10. Cage would get in the way(actually have one sitting on my porch for an 01-03 600), but I am thinking about modifying a case cover to have replaceable sliders similar to the woodcraft ones.
  11. Haha, went down 2 weeks ago on the carousel(long right) at PIRC as well. I'm getting good at throwing bikes down the track/road. Actually this one didn't hurt at all....scary as hell to spin around while sliding and see a bike swoop past a couple feet away. If it wasn't for a cracked case cover I would have been back out there before the session was over.
  12. If anyone knows the rider behind, tell him I'm sorry for being a douche and passing just to put it down in front of him. I saw him a couple more times on the track but didn't see him in the pits anywhere. I was moving my braking point up the whole day and was getting off the throttle at the first marker and braking at the second at the end of the previous session and thought I'd continue doing so the first lap of the next session.....whoops. Ron pointed out that it didn't seem like I got on the gas after entering...comparing it to the second video(early the prior session) I think he is right. Luckily the only damage is a broken case cover, sore left shoulder(either from the wreck or picking up my generator funny after getting home) and a bruised ego.
  13. That's what I wanted/expected to hear! Hitting either of those kinks on the back wot on your first track day in novice with textile gear on is insane, you should be proud haha Looks like you would be more than fine mixing it up in intermediate! PS buy some leathers.
  14. Turn 1 just after turn in the front washed out. Watched the video comparing it to other laps and it seemed like I didn't pick up the throttle as much...might have thought I was a little hot because I just passed someone on the brakes, but there was no reason I shouldn't have been able to make the turn. Damage is a case cover that was already pretty beat up. Could have been pretty bad though, I'll have to post the video tomorrow, I don't have time to screw with it tonight. Today went fine for me, went out for 2 laps to find my JB weld "fix" didn't hold; from then on I was happy to be pit bitch. I'll let everyone else share their own stories if they want. All in all, this weekend I learned....karts are fucking fun in the wet.
  15. Weather turned out OK for the majority of the day; however, everything else that could go wrong...did.
  16. So there is some interest on MotoSeries and AFJ in karting on Saturday after the trackday. I figure the more people we have the more organized this needs to be so it doesnt become a cluster. I was thinking starting time of 6. It is enough time that anyone needing to leave will be able to pack up, hit the karts and still be on the road at a reasonable time. Number of karts, number of drivers, and duration is an unknown. It was reccomended to make an announcement at the riders meeting to get some more people interested. If we announce it; there should also be some sort of sign up sheet so we have a clue of how many people there will be. Additional input is welcome.
  17. You know where there are no cars, intersections or driveways? At a trackday Oh yeah, there are no either

    Xt Lap Timer

This won't last....if it hasn't already sold. Great price!
  19. No, but I do get the feeling that other people should be driving On my morning ride on down 28 from the Gap to SC literally EVERY car/van/truck I saw near a turn went over the double yellow. I was getting furious.
  20. Anyone know how 209 gpa's work in the wet? They are pretty much my only option other than throwing my beat rains on. I have q2's, but they are down to the bars so idk how well they will clear water.
  21. you girls need to change your attitued....in fact, I just cracked open a fortune cookie while reading this thread and it said "pick another fortune cookie" so I'm assuming it is refering to glum predictions in this thread. rain or shine I'll be there friday-sunday.
