  1. He's actually in the Army but no, AFAIK he hasn't. There have been numerous other things though. Such as- he hurt his knee (likely cartilage tear, they refused to do an MRI) during mountain training in CO and they basically told him they wouldn't fix it and if he spent any more time rehabbing it (he spent ~ 3 days in the infirmary) they would just medically discharge him. So he had to continue training with a bad knee and has a lot of pain associated with it. Basically, they have too many enlisted and are looking for excuses to muster them out.BTW, after his platoon and wives/families were informed a few days ago they would return home this weekend, they were told today that now it will "sometime before the end of the year". I guess I'm canceling my trip to Ft Campbell
  2. Moron. I like how the cager casual gets out, checks out his car and then strolls up to the rider.
  3. My son comes home form Afghanistan this week and he has about 1 more year left in. I'm trying to convince him to GTFO when his time is up because of shit like this. Soldiers are treated so poorly these days and it keeps geting worse while, as mentioned, illegals and lazy bastards continue to get handouts left and right without any problem at all.
  4. Bengal colors...I'm nto sure if that's a plus or not
  5. Where in NY? The Adirondacks are nice...I grew up in Lake George NY and there a lot of nice twisty mountain roads there plus a lot of great RV places.
  6. This rain is sucking serious ass. ^^^This is part of the reason I don't ride in the rain in addition to reduced viibility for me and the cagers and rain gear is HOT.
  7. Don't know about the Sandals resort but I've traveled the world and St Lucia is in the top 3 of all places I've been. Of course, factor in that I scuba dive and the diving there was fabulous. Plus, it's closer than Europe so less vacation time spent traveling and no jet lag. My $0.02
  8. Sounds like fun but I have to ask - what's the plan for when it's over and you have no job/home? Sorry, my wife is a financial planner and I guess she's rubbing off on my. I don't think I could really enjoy myself on such a trip without having a good exit strategy.
  9. I came across this the other day...wow
  10. Here's another PSA 0:40 - 0:50 is classic
  11. ^^^this Good luck with the pup, hope you find the perfect owner for him
  12. They do look very similar.
  13. It's pretty common for most bikes to be about 5% off which looks like what yours is.
  14. I don't get bad buffeting on the Z1000 unless I am well above 80 which I stay below on the highway anyway. Getting the right windscreen makes a difference. The original screen I had caused a lot more buffeting. The one I have now has a lip that changes the airflow.
  15. Everyone worries about the wind but honestly it's not that bad and in the summer, you stay a lot cooler. When I had my my FJR I used to sweat my balls off because of all the wind protection. It's nice when it's colder but you can always add layers...taking them off is problematic.
  16. Welcome to the world of naked liter bikes. The next thing you'll learn to appreciate is the ease at which you can get to the oll filter etc for maintenance. I'll never go back to a full fairing bike again.
  17. Actually, that's what I get for being careless about where I put them.
  18. I've never been a fan of buying "precious" metals but if you time it right, you can make some cash. Those that horde it for the time when the economy collapses are the real idiots. It really has no inherent value. When all goes to shit, the things that will have real value - food, water and land. Oh and sammiches.
  19. My dogs have chewed up about 4 pairs of $150+ Oakleys in the past few years
