Not to test you on that but on that topic (and off thread topic, sorry) I'm actually kinda worried about my wife. She's on a live aboard dive boat with a friend around Turks and Caicos right where the hurricane is (although on the periphery it appears). I haven't heard from her since Wed eve though her cell service there is extremely spotty. She's not due back until next Tuesday.

We should get a final tally this weekend of who's going, when they plan on getting there, where staying, etc. Maybe Tim can update the OP with the details. I'm leaving from Montgomery OH around 4pm on Friday (or a little earlier if I can wrap up work sooner) and will be riding to Jellico at the KY/TN border and staying at the Days Inn. Anyone is welcome to meet me at my house anytime that day and ride with me (I'll be working from home) - just let me know and I'll PM you the address. Might be a nice break for those riding from N OH. Tire Rack is pretty much the Amazon of tires. The hard part is getting places to install tires you didn't buy there without them gouging you.

I hope this hurricane shit moves though and we get some nice weather. My wife is in Turks and Caicos right now and her diving is mediocre because of it. The water is all stirred up and visibility is not so great but at least they can still dive.

I was on it labor day weekend in the car (it's one of my wife's favorite roads) and IIRC it's still chip sealed and a bit rough.

Do the incline, go in town and get x food topped with french fries (even the salads!) then get the hell outta dodge. Also, don't wear a Bengals or Browns jersey or be prepared for a beatdown. Last time I was there (for a wedding in Oct a few years ago), I'd say 70% people milling around the shopping area along the river were wearing Steelers jerseys/jackets/shirts/colors. It was like being at a frickin game.

I was a member for a year a while back. I seem to remember getting discounts on stuff with membership but other than that, I didn't feel like being a member had much value for me. At least they didn't bury me in junk mail like the NRA.

It would depend heavily on how it was treated. Infrequent oil/filter changes, frequent bounces off redline, extended wheelies (starves top-end), all add up to trouble down the road. As IP says, treated right, they can go a long time - check out the mileage on some FJR's. Most bikes get wrecked by the time they get to a point where there's engine troubles
