  1. Assuming you have gear, really good gear, I would buy track fairings and tires. Then suspension and brakes. Not a penny on HP. Rear sets if needed. Shorter pegs may do the trick. I've never ridden your bike so I don't know how good the ground clearance is. Better suspension will help. Everyone likes to buy shit that they don't need or can't utilize. Spend the rest on lessons and track time.
  2. Sounds like a frag race is in order. My money is on the scooter. Fuel injected water cooled 150
  3. I want one but my scoot is not worried. I'm pretty sure I have more HP, way more gears (cvt) and I have drug left knee with my sh150i. Still working on the right knee.
  4. You can do CC from your smartphone via Internet or with swipe readers like four square and PayPal. You don't have to take my advice as it is free but I feel strongly that a single person business shouldn't ever need to advertise. If you charge too little you will bust your ass and never get ahead. The goal is profit and less hours for the same money is a good thing. I keep my overhead low and work from my car. Doesn't mean I don't charge a lot. I just discount to friends and family but I like freedom and money buys freedom.
  5. Pretty damn good race. Great weather and atmosphere. Look forward to next year.
  6. And forgot about flyers and all that crap. Spend that time joining groups to spread the word about you and what you do.
  7. Stop trying to undercut prices is my advice. You need to make enough to survive on working half of normal hours that way you don't go under right away if you are slow or get slow later. Then when working a lot you get a lot. Look, sound and be professional to everyone you encounter. Show confidence in your abilities and always make it right. This means you will work sometimes at no charge and late into the evenings. Always talk to people about what you do and how it makes a difference. Be careful not to go on and in but definitely bring up your line of work. People like to deal with successful people. It's what makes it hard to get started. No one wants the guy with no customers. They want the busy guy. Therefore be busy and look busy even if not actively on a job. Use terms like'schedule you for 3 PM today' or after I finish this job at approximately 3 pm , etc. Be honest and brief. Don't lie. Get credit card processing. Don't make it hard for your clients to pay you. Some won't have cash or money in checking account and need to pay with CC. DON'T GIVE CREDIT. You are not a bank. Be clear on your rates before you arrive. Most wont care if it costs $150 or $200 as long as they can trust it to be done right. Don't take shortcuts. Remember that just because it is easy for you doesn't mean that it isn't valuable. Don't give away your time. Friends and family pay too. Just discount them but always keep your rate high. People feel a lot better paying $75 per hour if the normal rate is $100. Much better than 75 if that is the standard rate despite paying the exact same thing. If you fix the problem in 5 minutes, don't just walk out. Spend a few minutes cleaning up and chatting to the customer and then leave. Always have a minimum charge.
  8. I'm in need. I will call you. At MotoGP now.
  9. I'm camping in the back of lot 2 just a bit inside of the main drag neat the back exit. Red canopy for bikes and white for people. Come say hi.
  10. Yes. Everyone should try it. First race is free. Tech requirements are light. Especially for a first time racer.
  11. I do and love it very much. Cheap, fun, fast. Practice is super cheap and racing is cheap. I run that and an F4 bike (NSF100). I race a CRF250R in super moto. Most choose a 450 but anything with the right rider can work.
  12. Awesome. Lots of happy times ahead. Some hard times sprinkled in. Break some of your favorite shit in advance. If you don't, he will.
  13. Times aren't posted and I'm curious as to what we ran in F4. XR guys were cooking.
  14. Wendover avenue has plenty to eat and stay right off 421/40. Heavy traffic from there to Raleigh, avoid rush hours. Once clear of Raleigh less traffic. Durham can be rough.
  15. Tons of hotels all along the I40. What do you consider a good price?
  16. Fox sucks. Hated when they bought SpeedVision and turned it into speed. Now it gets worse. Welcome to being a second class group.
  17. I will be camping in lot 2 Saturday for sure and probably Friday as well.
  18. This is a good example of how service is so important. So many dealerships suck. Partly because most techs don't get paid that well. I am so thankful that I like and trust my current dealer and dealer tech. They always install parts for free. He changed my brake fluids last time I was in for free. This time they drilled my oil drain and fill and safety wired for free at my request. They also cleaned my chain that i needed to do. I'm falling in love with Commonwealth Ducati in Louisville. Just wish they were closer. Normally I do a lot myself but as in getting older I have less time and desire to do it all.
  19. I have two of these and so far so good. Both work great and are super light. They almost feel like a prop you would see ate furniture store made of cardboard.
  20. Of course the person makes all the difference. Some can be responsible on big power but most new riders can't so we generally are going to say start small and learn a lot. As the saying goes, better to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow. Ninja 250 and trade up after a full season will probably be a smart move for most.
  21. Assuming those might work for App Store?
