  1. Thats why i didnt do it, max is 44 PSI. I found the manufacturer specs on the chain guard, 34 front & 36 rear. That piece of shit @ Iron Pony was WAY off, wth....i cant believe he was that far off - that really makes me loose faith in them. I told him the make/model/year & the brand name tire & he spouted off the mouth real quick like he was certain.
  2. called Iron Pony - 36 in front, 42 rear. I'm currently sitting @ 22 front,26 rear, wtf.
  3. I have Shinko 009's these: http://www.shinkotireusa.com/product/product.php?id=8 on my bike front and back, trying to fig out what cold PSI should be? I cannot find any info anywhere online, it's strange. I want to make sure it's @ the recommended PSI or around that.
  4. After deliberation and speaking with "the wife" I think I'm going to keep my bike another summer and consider buying a bike in a year. During the winter I'm told bike sales are slow and it's easier to buy a bike for cheap. Financially for me right now it's not feasable. Im going to get my valves checked (im at 20,xxx miles), new chain/sprocket, and an oil change.
  5. My back only starts to hurt on my bike when im riding on the highway for like an hour non stop, in town, its fine.
  6. maybe I'm just a whimp bec 1-2 hours on my bike without taking a break kills my back lol
  7. I have a friend who has a GSXR 750- great bike, but wouldnt do for long hauls!
  8. can anybody shed some light on if the 08- ish Honda VFR 800 has any known mechanical issues?
  9. Hey man it wont let me PM u it keeps saying "You may only post 1 messages every 120 minutes." ???
  10. I guess one of the things I want i a bike with a lil more top end, after about 70 MPH in mine the acceleration is kinda dead. I just want my cake and to eat it too haha. If I do upgrade it wouldn't be something like an R1 of Honda 1,000cc RR etc bec I'm afraid I'd be tempted to do something dumb. So either I keep my bike, go to something like a SV 1000 or a VFR 800. What sucks the most is 99% of dealers etc wont let u test drive the bike because of the obvious. SO I wont know what kinda feel the bike has. Guess I have some decisions to make.
  11. What do u all think about the SV 1000? I know they are harder to find, but I thought the only difference (sides the motor) was it weighed slightly more
  12. I have a pretty heavily modded 2011 Mazda Speed 3 & I'ma member of mazdaspeedforums.org - but i honestly dont know jack about forks, i know the SV's SUCK. I dont even know how to go about doing anything like that lol. Guess I could try and learn
  13. I guess I have A LOT of options to consider then. This shit is harder then learning how to drive a bike lol
  14. So...I have it set up when people comment my post it sends me an email, yea I've gotten 1 email that's it,and I just now saw this! Anyways, when I say my bike gets boring it's kind of like it doesn't thrill me anymore like it did at first. Have I been dumb and had it to 120+ yes, have I taken it thru corners quite briskly, yes lol. But normally I'm pretty mellow with the bike, sides some brisk acceleration every now and then. I do have a passenger with me sometimes which is my gf & she complains on long rides that it's not comfortable. Which I'm like 'shit, i have my own weight and yours on my back, cry me a river' lol My bike also has 20,xxx miles on it & it's an 05. I would rather not be doing any costly maintenance that I'm going to assume is in the somewhat near future. sprockets/chain - is no biggie but anymore than that (if it can be helped) id rather not fork over the $$ for. Lastly, as far as the type of riding i'd be using it for....to work every day I can and back (weather permitting), going on 1-2 hour rides on 71/270/or back country roads. I also have a friend who has a 2011 Kawasaki 650r so I need to be able to keep up his ass lol.
  15. I'm 26, have had my endorsement for 2 years now. Put about 4k miles on my 05 SV650S. It currently has 24k miles on it with original motor & has never been dropped etc (knocking on wood as I type this). Bike has been paid off for some time now as well. I am looking to possibly upgrade to something slightly newer/more nice, potentially bigger. I'm aware I can get into trouble in a 650cc bike, but can do it quicker in a liter bike. I'm fully aware of the danger etc - I respect the bike & the power. Being that said - I've looked at a lot of bikes and the options are endless. I DONT really want to buy new, but was considering something 650cc-1 liter, 5-7k price range, & 09'+ model year. I prefer a sport or sport touring bike. I don’t plan on doing any very long rides, but will ride up to potentially 1-2hrs at a time & will sometimes have a passenger. Any serious advice would be greatly appreciated!
  16. Trade you my 05 SV 650S with 19k miles? lol
  17. Unless u were purposely planning on hitting me on purpose lol. Was that the case? haha
  18. As long as u dont kill me lol
  19. I personally go as fast as I can in the rain, especially during the current season: fall. When all the leaves are on the roadway. If u fall over, just pick ur bike up and get right back on. This is how you will learn not to fall. Don't mind the broken plastics, that's whats duct tape is for. Also, you may have to get a couple of skin graphs, but hey you only live once right?
  20. In Ohio they will chekc your horn, turn signals, caution, and brake lights....just schedule an appointment and try, you'll find out for sure then!
  21. Haha I gotcha, I was just trying to inform everybody on how it goes lol
