  1. I think you see "worse" shocking content from video game videos and movie clips on YouTube than that video showed... I stand by my above post comment: Lame.
  2. Removed due to their policy of "shocking or disgusting content"? Seems dumb. There's no blood or gore, no cursing, nothing disgusting. Just a guy flying through the air, which you can see on Jackass or Ridiculousness and such shows on public television... I wonder who flagged it. Lame.
  3. Interesting tidbit: Apple only won a case against Samsung in the USA, which is Apple's home turf. Of course, that's all that matters, right? But in Japan, they lost their case. In Korea, both companies won and subsequently lost. I find it all rather interesting, seeing as how Samsung provides a lot of the physical equipment for the Apple products in question... So basically, Apple sued their own hardware supplier? The real problem here is the patent system. Way too general. Apple made a general patent along the lines of "rectangular, touch screen phone", and then sued the people who came along and made one, even though those sorts of devices were already in production before the iPhone. Apple merely patented the idea. I think that is called "patent trolling." Anyways, regardless of your flavor of phone, both the iPhone and Android phones are great in their own ways, and share some great innovations. I wonder if Nokia will ever bounce back, seeing as how before the iPhone, they were one of the largest mobile phone manufacturors in the world.
  4. I have an ASUS, it's my third one I have owned, I love them. Looks like that first one is a 90 day warranty only because it is refurbished. That being said... The first one is your best choice. Best bang for the buck, in my opinion. Do you HAVE to have a laptop? Generally speaking, desktops offer more power for less money, so just an idea. I know you want Sears, but this deal is pretty great: http://www.pcmag.com/best-deals-today?date=7-23-12 $500 shipped, comes with Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse, and the system, with decent specs.
  5. I second what 4DAIVI PAI2K5 and BDBGoalie asked. From my 12 years of military experience, you get what is issued to you, and you can't change it up. Of course, if he did, someone would have to notice and care. I wouldn't recommend it, though. Now if he was a Special Forces or Ranger kind of guy (not sure which branch he is), he could probably get away with it.
  6. I did a bit on the SA side. And the CX MX has some, doesn't it?
  7. I don't think I understand your post correctly. You are in the military, stationed in Germany, and don't have to pay anything for treatment? Wouldn't that be because you have TriCare Prime, which means you have no costs to pay, regardless of what country or area of the US you find yourself in as an Active Duty military member?
  8. I wish I had magical necromancer powers to bring the founding fathers back to life... I bet they wouldn't have any problem bitch slapping some politicians around...
  9. Oh man, I wouldn't trust those power supplies that come with the cases for anything. If they don't have at least a Bronze certification, they may just kill your entire system when they up and decide to die for no reason. 10. Here is an article that breaks down the FCC ruling and the deal between them and Verizon. http://news.cnet.com/8301-1035_3-57485518-94/what-verizons-fcc-tethering-settlement-means-to-you-faq/
  11. Heh, I didn't say the constitution or the government, I just meant the specific laws that govern taxes and healthcare.
  12. So what do you suggest? I don't know much about this stuff, but maybe we need to wipe out everything and start from scratch as far as healthcare laws and tax laws are concerned. Currently, the laws are crazy complex and full of loopholes, so I have read on the interwebz. Maybe if we start from the ground up, we can create a much better system without all the problems?
  13. Ouch, I wonder what happened! http://www2.nbc4i.com/news/2012/sep/03/police-ejected-motorcyclist-hits-oncoming-car-ar-1158856/

  15. I believe you were thinking of a "Cleveland Steamer".
  16. Same thing happened to me in Dublin like... 10 years ago. I just bought a "new" car (1991 Mazda MX-3) that had really dark tint on it. I had the windows down when I passed a cop, he ignored me. I picked up my girlfriend at the time, and rolled the windows up, and drove past that same cop. He pulled me over, said the tint was too dark, gave me a ticket. I was a new driver at the time, so I was quite surprised. I was definitely ignorant of the law, and didn't know I could get in trouble, especially since I bought the car that way. Needless to say, that tint came right off, haha. Now that I am thinking about it, I got a ticket in Dublin from a cop for have a neon license plate frame, too. He said only the white lights from the factory were allowed. I told him something along the lines of "no way", and he pulled out a book and showed me in the laws. I was quite stunned from that one, too. As a kid, I didn't understand why neon license plate frames were such a big deal, as an adult... well, I still don't understand, but I don't think they are "cool" anymore, regardless.
  17. If you enjoy reading crazy automobile tech stories, this one is pretty good: http://forums.24hoursoflemons.com/viewtopic.php?id=4861 Basically, the gentleman took an old World War 2 radial motor and shoved it into a Toyota MR2. That thread details the work he put into the job, the custom fabrications and work-arounds he had to come up with, a lot of times with the help of the other forum goers. All in all, a good time waster to read all the posts and view the videos.
  18. Have you looked into military surplus generators? Govliquidators or other similar websites have them. They are super cheap, and I have seen 40k+ generators on there. Might be worth looking into. And we all know how rugged and durable military equipment is! Probably not fuel efficient, though, nor quiet...

I've never been big into politics, so there is a lot I don't understand... Why do we need a label on our views, anyways? Instead of saying "I'm a Democrat/Republican", why can't we just say "I stand for freedom of X, pro-Y, and anti-Z?" I suppose that when I look at the parties, none of them completely match up with my personal views, which is why I don't identify myself with them. It's too bad "independent" isn't a more viable "party", then I would actually vote for someone other than Mickey Mouse each election...
  20. I wonder if it does wheelies...
  21. Don't be mad. I am just happy DISA unblocked Ohio Riders so we can view the wonderful knowledge contained within while "working"... Speaking of IP, I do need a tinted visor. Riding east on Broad in the mornings puts the sun directly in my face, which sucks.
  22. I have always told myself that when I retire, I am going to find a Mom and Pop PC repair shop to work at for minimum wage. I love desktop support, it's so easy and fun. Screw this server stuff and all this virtualization and wakk wakk wakka... Point of my post? I miss working on desktop computers, but my salary requirements won't let me do it.
  23. Shipping was free, and I was lazy and didn't need the gloves ASAP since I was using my military combat gloves from Oakley at the time.
  24. I ordered my riding gloves online from IP, and they came in two days. So... I guess it was worth it for me!
