  1. It sucks sitting up here in Newark while everyone is down in the sticks with their bikes. Everyone have a great time and be careful. Maybe I can get in on some of the fun next year. What's the MJ report? Did she make it there safely? .
  2. I think it's time we installed brick launchers on our bikes. .
  3. Even the deer are out to get us.
  4. You mean this one? >> My Niece Made The Cover Of Ridin On Magazine And in trying to figure out if that is what you meant, a thought occurred to me. "Bike Knights" might be a cool name for a motorcycle club. Where's Big Ern? .
  5. Not asking for laws. Way too many of them now. Asking for not making an image appear as though nothing needs to be considered when going for a ride. Good for the girl to be on the cover, but "Bike Nights Are Back" would project a more responsible image, with groups of riders with gear, in the photo, being served at tables, without bikes in the photo. It's the message that a photo like this sends that is deceptive. Oh wait, she's wearing boots. Okay, she's good to go. .
  6. If the girls all get prettier at closing time, why don't you wait until a half hour before last call to go in and pick one out? They are stoned and you are not. And you can save all that money you would have spent on drinking the night away? .
  7. Oh, nice work son! You done good. I want one. Everybody wants some. I want some, too..... http://youtu.be/SxVjPvUofMw
  8. I have a few traffic obstacles at both ends of my trip. Plus, I can't go 75 - 93 MPH with the fuzz lurking about. .
  9. "Beer is good for you.....it's liquid bread....." http://youtu.be/ATBl4qH9I54
  10. If you are ready to upgrade to the VFR 1200, ASK on the east side of Columbus had a used one the other day. I like them, but with my short arms and it's height, it just doesn't fit me right. I wish the V-4 came in my size. .
  11. She be sayin', "You talkin' to me? YOU TALKIN' TO ME???" .
  12. And for all of those reasons, plus more.....NO! Move closer. I drive 40 - 50 minutes, 32 miles one way. I wouldn't want to drive any farther. 64 miles a day is far enough for a job, and an hour and a half a day driving to and from work is plenty. It's worse if you have to make a stop or two on the way home when you're tired. Plus, the longer you take to get on the road, the thicker traffic gets and adds time and stress to your trip. You don't need that when you have to walk into the house and have the ol' lady start harping about the stopped up toilet, or her car acting up. .
  13. I've done that too. A higher intensity bulb may be a good idea too.
  14. I don't care for the image that magazine cover presents. We all know mixing of alcohol and motorcycles is a bad idea. And she's not dressed for riding, that's for sure. A young impressionable guy or girl can easily be lead to believe the image reflects how riders should look, to be fashionably acceptable to other riders. A rider's magazine should present a more responsible view with at least a helmet in the photo. .
  15. Apply half of the cost as credit on future purchases in the store and I could recommend your course. Otherwise, I don't care what others charge, it's still pricey. .
  16. I'm going to guess that traffic was heavy at that time of day, with everyone going home after work. The rider may have been slowing to turn at River Road, or may have slowed due to cars waiting to turn from River Road onto Rt 16. Being the only one stopped at a light makes me uncomfortable when I see a car approaching from the rear in a 55 MPH zone. If the light goes green, what if the car doesn't see me before I get enough speed up to get out of the way? I may look closer into installing a flashing brake light. .
  17. As for quite helmets, is there a chart that compares them for wind noise? Lack of wind noise is one of the criteria for my next helmet purchase. Anyone got a ink for such information? .
  18. I like the idea. I wish the rear view was more panoramic, so as to give a better view of the rear sides. .
  19. Is northern Ohio having a recruiting drive, or what? .
  20. I have an App called Motorcycle Weather, on my Android. You set the parameters (english or metric, language, low temperature, high temperature, chance of precipitation, wind speed, and your zip code) and it will give you an icon of a car or a motorcycle for each of the next five days. For Sunday 06-02, it's showing 80ºH/52ºL, Showers 20% chance, 9 MPH winds from WSW. That easily falls into my riding preferences. It gives you a quick glance at your chances of having a nice ride. .
  21. "But, but, but, I'm just too cool to wear a helmet. Nothing will happen to me." >> Deputies said that Holman's Harley Davidson travelled across the center line on eastbound state Route 374 in Hocking County. Holman was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. I know this curve on the ramp. Suggested speed is 35, I think. The light post is knocked down several times a year. It should be placed on the inside of the curve. >> Newark police and medics were dispatched to the ramp from northbound S.R. 79 to westbound state Route 16 shortly after 9 p.m. on a report of a crash. Emergency crews found Richard Mitchell, 56, when they arrived on scene. Medics pronounced the victim dead on the scene. Investigators say Mitchell lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a guardrail and lamp post. .
  22. There may be some ideas in this rider group's forum. It's centered on New England. http://www.newenglandriders.org/ You can piece together some ideas from here: http://www.roadtripusa.com/index.html If you want to get your kicks, try route 66. http://www.roadhouse66.com/tour.htm .
  23. I've fished about for an edit feature. I don't seem to have found the secret. EDIT: Guess what I just found. .
