  1. I have an App called Motorcycle Weather, on my Android. You set the parameters (english or metric, language, low temperature, high temperature, chance of precipitation, wind speed, and your zip code) and it will give you an icon of a car or a motorcycle for each of the next five days. For Sunday 06-02, it's showing 80ºH/52ºL, Showers 20% chance, 9 MPH winds from WSW. That easily falls into my riding preferences. It gives you a quick glance at your chances of having a nice ride. .
  2. "But, but, but, I'm just too cool to wear a helmet. Nothing will happen to me." >> Deputies said that Holman's Harley Davidson travelled across the center line on eastbound state Route 374 in Hocking County. Holman was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. I know this curve on the ramp. Suggested speed is 35, I think. The light post is knocked down several times a year. It should be placed on the inside of the curve. >> Newark police and medics were dispatched to the ramp from northbound S.R. 79 to westbound state Route 16 shortly after 9 p.m. on a report of a crash. Emergency crews found Richard Mitchell, 56, when they arrived on scene. Medics pronounced the victim dead on the scene. Investigators say Mitchell lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a guardrail and lamp post. .
  3. There may be some ideas in this rider group's forum. It's centered on New England. http://www.newenglandriders.org/ You can piece together some ideas from here: http://www.roadtripusa.com/index.html If you want to get your kicks, try route 66. http://www.roadhouse66.com/tour.htm .
  4. I've fished about for an edit feature. I don't seem to have found the secret. EDIT: Guess what I just found. .
  5. You don't have to immediately accept anything that they offer. You can think about it and get more facts to support that your bike is worth more than they claim it is. Don't let them rush you into an acceptance, if you have the time to spare. If they give you a hard time about it's value, you can develop a reason to go to the doctor to have your aching back checked out if you go very soon, like tomorrow. You could have some whiplash that hasn't showed up yet. They don't want to pay medical if they don't have to, and it adds up fast. Agreeing to what you value your bike to be could save them a lot of money if you have to start going to the chiropractor every week.
  6. Back when we took this ride >>> http://ohioriders.net/index.php?/topic/96348-the-tuesday-keep-the-sunny-days-acomin-ride/ This guy was on a Buell: Name: Dennis IBEW 683 Location: Marysville Oh Bike(s): 2008 Buell 1125R He's the one to talk to if anyone knows how to get a hold of him. .
  7. That would be like another whole motorcycle for me. Haha!
  8. That was the first thing that came to mind.
  9. Dude! I'm glad you didn't get jacked up worse than you did. Sorry about the bike. Heal up, take a rest, plan some track days, and get out to ride again. We can all learn something from this. I'm going to concentrate on learning how to properly take curves, for one thing. .
  10. I think I'll give that a try after my bars show up. .
  11. The internet is full of stories about the Red Cross keeping money for themselves that is intended for victims, from the 1989 San Francisco earthquake to the present day. >> Issues with where money donated to the Red Cross actually goes began long before 9/11. Allegations of keeping donated money go, at least, as far back as the 1989 San Francisco earthquake. Victims reportedly only received $10 million of the $50 million dollars donated. >> In 2008, the Washington Post revealed the fact that new CEO Gail McGovern was set to make $500,000 dollars a year with a $65,000 signing bonus >> "...One charity has stayed above all this for 137 years. The Salvation Army is unique among all U.S. charities for many reasons. Let,s start at the top. Commissioner Todd Bassett receives a salary just $13,000 per year (plus housing) for managing this $2 Billion dollar organization. By comparison, Brian Gallagher, President of the United Way receives a $375,000 base salary (plus numerous expensive benefits) and the Red Cross President Marsha Evans receives $450,000 plus benefits..." .
