I use these as well when I want to listen to music, I use it with a Bluetooth clip with play/pause, volume, and next/previous controls on it. It's a very good setup for the price, I think it's nearly impossible to do better than that for a noisy outdoor solution unless you spend $150+ When I don't use that, I use these green contoured disposable plugs. Nearby where I live, they were repaving a road I frequently ride. It was in the gravel stage and there was no warning sign for loose gravel, nothing. I think I have the video of it saved off. I was riding 2 up at the time as well. I went from road to gravel at about 50mph. Thankfully I was able to slowly decelerate and turn around. If I went down, I would've considered a lawsuit. Many road contractors do *not* consider motorcyclists at all. It should be a stringent requirement.

Looks decent but a bit pricey. I just use a set of gen 1 Plugfones and use with a small Jumbl Bluetooth receiver. That while setup is about $30 and I haven't found anything that can out perform the plugfones when on a motorcycle, they isolate very well.

May be a stupid question, but how would you not burn your right leg on it with the exhaust setup? Beyond that, I do like the design of it.

Thanks! I'm not really concerned about it unless it happens again, I'm pretty sure it was my mistake and muscle memory just cranked it all the way to the left in parking mode without realizing.

Anyone have links to the ITV4 highlight coverage? I never know where to get it... If I can pay for it I gladly would, I can just never find it.

Nevermind... Checking it, it does have parking mode passed the lock.. I'm sure that was it, I feel like an idiot now, lol... Never had a bike with that before.

Yes to the steering lock, but I don't believe it has anything beyond that that would keep lights on. I've never noticed any one after locking it in the garage.

Thanks guys. So... Unfortunately I had my first negative experience with the bike today. I went to leave work, put the key in, turned to "On" position and nothing, dash didn't come on at all. I seems as if they battery was dead. I had it jumped by the police where I work and it's seemed fine. Now that I have it home, I have it on a battery tender (there was a connector left on it by the previous owner. What are you guys thoughts. Can I likely trust it if I let it charge overnight? I had a trip planned Saturday out of town I'd rather not get stranded on. Do you think it's likely the bike was just sitting and died due to that? I just find it strange it's 1 week after I got it and I've ridden it probably 150-200 miles until this happens. I would've that would've been enough to get the battery charged again. So, is it likely not holding a charge now? If that's the case, I guess it's new battery time? I find it very strange, as my 2002 919 has never had an issue. I haven't touched the battery since I got it in 2012, never used a battery tender in the winter and it's started up every time. My biggest fear is an alternator/magneto issue, but I would not at all expect that on a 2015 bike.

Congrats! I just got a 2015 fjr1300 last week and waiting on the title myself! Today I've ridden it to work. Yesterday I just threw a throttle rocker on it.

Haven't been on here for years, but last week I picked up a new toy. A 2015 FJR1300A. This has been my dream bike for about 4 years now. I've had a 2002 Honda 919 since 2012 which I still have, and had a 1996 Bandit 600 from 2008 to 2011 which was my first bike. I found a pretty good deal on this ($1k under bluebook) from a dealer and only had 5600 miles. I absolutely love the color too and 2015 is the only year for it. This is a bike I'll probably hang on to the rest of my life, I'd likely only get rid of it to trade in on a newer model year of it, or something drastic. Only having had a Bandit 600 and Honda 919, this thing is infinitely better on the freeway. So much more stable, not fighting the wind, tons of power, etc. I can't wait to ride it more! And yes, I'll be removing and replacing the tank protector, not quite my style.

It amazes me US motorcycle cops typically just wear a half helmet, sunglasses/goggles and just their regular uniform. No reason for them not to have proper gear.

Sort of wish they'd do that here... However, where do they draw the line? I have a phone cradle and use my phone for both navigation and music in my car via Bluetooth. Sometimes at stop lights, etc I will change music, switch from nav to music app and back, etc, but I never text. Just a few button presses and I keep attention if the light changes. I wonder if they'd ticket for that in a scenario like this. If so, I think that's a little over zealous because it's no different than changing the radio/CD track or using the touch screen in your car. There are things people can do while driving that are just as much, or more distracting than using/looking at their phone (women putting on makeup, eating, etc). Not defending it at all, and I've been rear ended in my car at a stop light by an uninsured driver that was texting, but there is a fine line.

I have the transition lense for my Bell RS-1 and it's easily dark enough for me. The only downside is no pinlock posts and the helmet starts to fog easily, even with temps in the 50s.I'm looking into a Nolan N44 for the street now and delegating the RS-1 to just track and fun summer rides

I don't throw mine out every time, I find 1 pair is usually good for at least a month, but that depends how much riding you do.

Wow, I didn't realize they went under. Personally I think the Contour is a MUCH better helmet camera than a GoPro. Starting and stopping recording is MUCH easier to operate/locate when you're riding, the shape lends itself better as a helmet camera, plus the rotating lense means you don't have to have it mounted with the horizon orientation. I've also found it has better battery life than the GoPro. I typically use the Contour on my helmet and GoPro mounted somewhere on the bike itself.

Buy my 919 and I'll get an FJR 1300 =)

This is what I'm planning on doing with my Note 2 when I get a Note 5 in September (or whenever it comes to Verizon). What offline GPS app do you use/which is best?

I won't lie, this is kind of tempting. I've been wanting to get an FJR for longer trips, but this is quite a bit cheaper. Heavier and I'm sure not as sporty though

The new Mazda 3's are quite nice, but I don't think the new ones are in your price range. I'm not sure if it was 2014 or 2015 for the major change to them, but before that, they were fairly spartan, lacking nice interiors and tech considered standard compared to most competition. Out of the options you listed, I'd say Sonata or Accord. The Legacy is probably a good option. I have a Hyundai Veloster Turbo (manual). Overall I like it pretty well. It gets decent mileage and is fun to drive and practical being a hatchback, but it's not necessarily the most practical/comfortable daily driver. My main complaints are road noise (fine up to about 50mph, but freeway speed is annoying) and low profile tires. I've destroyed 1 wheel, and 1 tire due to potholes on Hamilton and Polaris in the past 3 years. My lease is up in about 1.5 years and I think I'll probably be looking at a pickup... Likely a 2015 Colorado so I can haul a track bike

As an only bike? Definitely not. Once I have: 1) a 2006+ FJR1300 2) dedicated track bike (600-750cc whatever) 3) my 919 4) some cruiser just to have one 5) a Polaris Slingshot just to have one -in my garage I *might* entertain the thought of an electric motorcycle if I had money lying around.... But probably not.

Update - He ended up getting a 2010 FJR 1300 today. It was listed at $8,500 and he talked the guy down to $7,000. I rode it a bit and it IS nice. I could definitely see one in my future at some point. I don't think it's nice enough for me to want to drop $6,000-7,000 on one anytime soon vs my 919 though. Maybe I'd change my mind after a very long trip and/or cold when the heated grip would come into play =p I will say, for weighing ~150lbs more than my 919, I would not guess it. It's very well balanced and center of gravity seems relatively low (compared to my 919). The seat is also lower and easier to flat/foot and deal with low speeds/stopping, etc vs my 919.

I've been with Progressive since I first started riding in 2008 and haven't had any complaints about them. Both the bikes I've owned haven't been worth much though, first was a '96 Bandit 600, and currently a 2002 Honda 919.
