  1. If its the gears it will groan and make noise because the motor will still spin. If it does nothing check the fuses and the motor.
  2. Okay, no bullshit guys. Give him a chance to read the stickies and make a decent attempt at an intro. Welcome new guy, give us some more info and preferably some pics.
  3. I am certainly no expert on those engines but it sure sounds like an intake manifold leak as most engines have a coolant passage in them. Given the limited space to look around it's not easy for anybody to be certain, however pressurizing the system will typically make the coolant flow which can make it much easier to pinpoint. A coolant pressure test would be my next step, so i hope you can get it figured out.
  4. So why is it that every car like that has a grammatical nightmare of a description like that? Do highschool dropouts get a ratty old car as a parting gift and told "make that car uber sweet and we'll send you a GED"?
  5. This what I had planned, but if people want to go to Cane's I'll go there. If more people post about going to Cane's then we can go there, otherwise QS&L it is.
  6. Have to work in the morning, but I'm down for some food and a short night. Where'd you have in mind? Cane's, Sonic, or QS&L?
  7. Damn I have that PCM in my Camaro, I must need the totally awesome Dyno Brian to work his magic on my car. Dyno Brian is the best awesomest most kickass tuner anywhere. Maxes out his dyno just for kicks.
  8. Trust me the techs get paid .4 hours under warranty. We typically rounded it up for customer pay, but they likely want to be difficult because you aren't doing the "whole job" with them. Good luck getting that taken care of.
  9. Okay let me tell you a story. Some years back I had an S10 with a 2.5L 4 banger. I got sick of not having any adjustment to the stock TBI system so I decided to swap on a 2 barrel holly carb. While this is not the same exact scenario here's what I did, the stock fuel pump puts out about 15 psi so I installed a cheap holley FPR and blocked off the return line. Using a fuel pressure gauge I adjusted the FPR to about 5 psi. Basically the fuel pump would deadhead against the regulator. Drove the truck about 4 years like that before the body rusted off, the engine and carb set up still worked great. Right or wrong it will work. If it was really a high pressure system I wouldn't even try it, but the pump is not strong enough to push past the regulator and as much as I drove mine the wear and tear couldn't have increased much.
  10. Well if that doesn't flow enough you should just kill yourself. j/k Looks like good stuff you put together, looking forward to it making some noise.
  11. Well it's downpouring at my house, radar looks iffy. I will cruise out later and see what happens. A group of us is leaving from my house, so we'll take our chances.
  12. Cool, I've got my fingers crossed for decent weather.
  13. That is not such a simple answer. Pretty much anything will bolt to an LS1 with the right bellhousing and clutch. The direct swap 5 speed would come out of a 5 speed silverado with a V8 built after 1999, good luck finding one, and as other's have said it won't take abuse either. A T56 or aftermarket TKO is common for a reason.
  14. I know your geeky ass has a GPS enabled smart phone, the speedo is a lame excuse.
  15. Likely a non-working air pump or one way valve. Air injection pumps fresh air into the exhaust to speed up the catalitic converter function on startup. If you're getting a noise something is likely dying a slow death. Check the system for water intrusion.
  16. Well make sure you introduce yourself when you see my Camaro.
  17. This is a very easy and usually small event. Which makes it perfect for anybody wanting to try out autocross. It will be at Columbus Motor Speedway starting at 10:30am. Since it is Ford owners the course is set up for bigger cars making it great for anybody. I have a couple friends coming down to try autocross for the first time so you won't be alone. I'm happy to answer questions and help out if I can. This is a club that doesn't even expect you to work the course so it's super easy. If you are even considering trying it this is the place to do so. More info here. http://www.unitedfordowners.com/Events/index_files/Page477.htm Unlike the SCCA if it does rain, it will likely be rained out.
  18. I don't care about the weather, if its anything short of a downpour I'll be heading out. Should have a few newbs in tow.
  19. Thank you for resurrecting an old thread just to tell us you have LS envy.
  20. Well that's hope that doesn't happen or I'll won't make it.
  21. OSU's home opener, kickoff at noon. So I'll be showing early for Cars&Coffee to beat some of the football retards.
  22. Says the guy with 2 sets of CCWs for his vette. :dumb:
