  1. "I will only live once so I wish to not look back on my life and have regrets, I do what makes me happy" -Scott Cordell I'm also partial to DTA and CYA.
  2. Congrats on the bike, looks like a cool ride.
  3. The older ones have a different input shaft and bellhousing, otherwise the same so no they are not any stronger. A 700R4 is a non-electronic 4L60, but the bellhousing bolts would be a little off. If you're going to keep it fuel injected just get a 4l60 for a LS motor and use the PCM to control it. It really is no harder then that, with an engine harness for an automatic truck or f-body everything will already be there.
  4. Thats how I roll  Guess I should watch that movie sometime.
  5. Only T-56s that came out of an LS car will bolt right up, the older stuff out of LT1s will not be a direct swap, there are some conversion kits out there though.
  6. This, I had a guy turn out in front of me a few years back and totalled my car. My insurance paid me minus my deductible, and when this retard finally figured out that I had the right of way and quit fighting his ticket, his insurance paid my insurance and I was reimbursed for my deductible.
  7. Almost all the trucks use the same PCM that is in the 99-02 f-body, just get one after 99, they used it in about every LS based V8 until 02-03 and in some of the trucks until 08, this is the computer to get as there are custom operating systems and lots of options for tuning these, however all of GM's V8 PCMs are tunable so it isn't detrimental. The only major difference between a 4.8 and 5.3 is the crank, the block is the same part number betweeen them. These engines have the smallest bore diameter of any LS engine so you have to watch what heads you swap onto it, but if it will work on a LS1 (LS1 is only slightly larger, about .100") it will work on one of these. When you start talking about 6.0L and bigger displacemnt the cylinders get bigger and all GM's heads interchange. Starting in 04 the V8s starting going to different crank and cam reluctors, different knock sensor locations, and a few other minor changes, these starting getting called the gen 4 V8, requires a different PCM but depending on build any of these parts can be interchanged it just depends on how deep you want to go. If you have specific questions I'm sure i can answer them. As for transmissions the bolt pattern is close to the old SBC but only about half the bolts line up, the top of the bellhousing bolts are different. I know guys are using this stuff but I don't have any more first hand knowelege then that.
  8. well now I've decided to just keep them since you wanted to draw it out in public. How many times do you expect me to try and sell them to you?
  9. Wish this was in my budget, just can't stretch myself that thin. You guys have fun.
  10. I only bail on you, dick. I'm game for taking the car, but something tells me you'll be out all night friday and won't be up for this. Okay looks like the car is a good possiblility.
  11. I'm thinking that between Cars & Coffee and the CR meet at QS&L I'm going to log some miles on my motorcycle. Since I have a slow cruiser all I want to do is go on an easy cruise up the river and wherever, then be home in time to cruise up to QS&L. Anyone interested in leaving C&C and riding for a few hours? Looks like a good chance it'll be a great day for it. If nobody wants to do this, I'm game for taking the cars out instead.
  12. apparently you didn't see me almost fall over at the light laughing so hard :lolguy:
  13. Looked like a daywalking troll.
  14. throws a bannana peel out their window at a motorcycle? :gabe:
  15. 50/50 mix of the good old green coolant, fuck dex-cool. I haven't had any cooling issues to worry about doing anything different. At work i see all kinds of gelled and corroded dex-cool shit so I won't run that, my cars have been flushed out to water and then flushed to green.
  16. You don't own my house. Seriously though if you're going to be paying child support and alimony, it's best to deal with a lawyer. Alimony varies a lot.
  17. It's a pile of wood now, I just need to dump it somewhere.
  18. How about somewhere with some scenery? Has to be some cool places to shoot pics that isn't just a warehouse in the backround. Sorry I missed you guys saturday, I was busy destroying the box in the bed of my truck,LOL.
  19. Pressure is supposed to drop on the low side when the compressor kicks on, but using just a low side gauge on a can doesn't tell you much.
  20. What is it you want to know? Let me share why I hate "top off" cans of 134a, because I have had numerous people come into work with overcharged a/c systems with people fucking with shit they don't understand. A/C systems are designed to operate with a specific weight of 134a in them for proper performance, something almost impossible to do without a very accurate scale and a set of manifold gauges to check performance. Shooting too much 134a in does nothing but cause issues, at the very least is simply render the system inoperative because the high pressure switch will keep it off. You want to give good advice to your customers tell them to go find someone who knows what they are doing.
