  1. Sell you mine, I used to buy it at Krogers but i don't think you can get it there. I've a subscription for years. If I were you I'd try a bookstore.
  2. I thought that the nature of those cars being hand built were not very consistant from car to car, unless I'm thinking of something else. I also thought those were the cars that based on the GPS would remove the speed limiter if it were at a track. Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not positive on these two bits of info.
  3. It looks a lot like this but maybe you have the peices a little off. Around a 2000 or so Venture or Montana van. http://images2.carpartsdiscount.com/auto/archive/pictures/130211/516/1/P/420D6E9/pontiac_montana_2000_tail_light_lh_oem_10353279.jpg
  4. If you're going to buy something like this make sure you seal the jack bolts or they will leak. Personally I don't feel like these covers are worth it, but to each his own.
  5. I would find it hard to beleive that anything would leak with this stuff, I've sealed up both the 10-bolt and 9inch in my camaro with it and never had issues. I don't use the gaskets on them unless I'm at work. If you want to try the GM engine sealant, refered to as GMS, you can get it at any dealership parts department, just make sure there aren't any hard spots in the tube. GMS works as much like a glue as it's a little harder to get apart then the Right Stuff but they both work great.
  6. There are a lot of subtle differences in those years. Earlier trans will be more like a 700r, while anything behind an LS motor will be a different bellhousing. Really need to talk to a transmission shop and see what really crosses over.
  7. Are the Chrome and black stools in decent shape? I mean if they aren't ripped up or wobbley I'd like to get 1 or 2.
  8. Helped do the whole package on Chad's Fiero, they just squeak. Compared to the cost of replacing bushings with rubber, I'd just go ahead and get the urethane and grease them well when installed.
  9. The Sweet Smell of Success.
  10. Well shows how much I know. I'd really like to get a couple on my rack at work and check them out.
  11. Basically a rebadged Malibu from my understanding, if thats the case they aren't all that bad. Look for it to wear out brakes a little faster then most, overall not bad. Wheel bearing get covered under the 5 year 100k mile warranty, but they weren't as bad about wheel bearings as other GMs.
  12. Hasn't changed much. You weren't perfect either, just never had any oil related problems.
  13. Thanks, I don't care to work on other people's stuff much outside of work, but I do love what I do and my toys. Anyone who knows me, knows that cars and the activities that go along with them are what I live for. We recently had the same thing happen and I think it was Valvoline, they didn't put any oil in a Cobalt. Customer complaining of noise and running bad.
  14. Thanks man. I forsee an adult driven, never been raced, Accord in 3-4 years that reminds me of a certain fucked up silver car. Just ask for Charlie Sheen on the lube rack, seriously. This guy got hired a few months ago, the other guys on the lube rack started calling him Charlie Sheen. Today he came in with a shirt that said "WINNING" across the chest.

He logged on to LS1tech today at 11:50, i wouldn't worry about it. Okay I'm done stalking now.

Met him at Marion a couple months ago, he seemed cool enough. I know he runs the LSx series, and has the same screen name on LS1tech. He's from down near Cincy somewhere, and I'm pretty sure he's on their local forum as well.
  17. I'd say a couple grand, but you wouldn't have anyway to know if the rest of the driveline is any better then the fucked engine. If you wanted to take the risk you could swap in a junkyard 5.3 under $1k and spray the guts out of it. Bet you could run 12s all day cheap, maybe better without blowing it up.
  18. This is how it should be. People who want proper maintenance done on their car should pay, but far too many people have become accustomed to paying $19.95 and you end up with half wits who make a whole $8hr to change your oil and they don't care, plus the bussness itself has to buy the cheapest shit available to them to keep from loosing money. Everytime the dealership sends out coupons we are loosing money, at $39.95 we are bearly breaking even.
  19. The 1% LOL I realize that most of this shit goes on, it just doesn't register with me. You'd think people would want to take care of their cars, but people don't wash them, don't do anything but oil changes. The biggest improvement for me going to the dealership is that I don't have to deal with these cheap ass worthless fucks face to face anymore. I have little to no respect for people who don't want to take care of their stuff, of course lots of these people didn't have to work for their shit either.
  20. I wouldn't want the oil they pull out of their 30 year old underground bulk tanks, I wouldn't want the junk ass graphite additive they put in every car, and I sure as hell wouldn't want these lazy ass numbskulls working on oil change. I don't even know what oil they use, but I've pumped it with dirt in it.
  21. I've been thinking about general maintenance on cars, and how half assed it gets done by most people. I'm not talking about car guys, just the general public. Not so much how often it gets done but how shitty it gets done. Take every shop I've ever worked at, there's alays some lazy fuck who won't clean out funnels, doesn't make sure the filter is tight, or the drain plug for that matter. Now I'm not perfect I've made the mistake of having an oil leak, but it never leaves my bay because I double check stuff. In the 2 years I've worked here we have replaced over 5 engines because our lube rack is horrible. 2 points to this, how can people go in blind and trust that their car will get worked on properly, and don't get your oil changed at Dave Gill unless you request someone you know.
  22. If you're just going to keep having fun with the car, then spray it. Unless your brakes suck really badly, or you want to do some autocross or something.
  23. This was my thought, should keep the correct throw to the 4g63 cables. Interesting swap, hope you can get it together soon.
  24. My parents booked the Four Points Sheraton on Hamilton, it was a nice quiet room with good food. Of course this was over 11 years ago, but I think its still there. Since my parents were on a budget it couldn't have been too bad. I would check out nicer hotels.
