  1. 100% in... little later in the year would be better for me as I'll be spending 10 days in May for my wedding.  So middle June or after would work for me.  The earlier I know the date the better too so I can plan all this vacation time --

For anyone who hasn't done this before, please do not hesitate to make this your first one!  So many OR people will do anything to help make your first track day the best it can be.  Also, from what I'm told, Mid-Ohio also is one of the best novice structures around for all different levels of riders.

Naw. He just throws oil everywhere at the track and screws everyone else's session

Needed to get that K&N Sponsorship and I only know of one way to make that happen! Representing them the best way I know how

  3. So reading through this thread, I must be the most hated MOFO on this site.

    1)  I'm a millennial

    2)  I rip 100+ down the highway at times

    3)  I go bonkers in the twisties on SEO

    4)  I double yellow pass

    5)  I post my ride routes online for police

    6)  I do the occasional wheelie

    7)  I'm a motovlogger ( @Casper )

    8)  I've taken my DSLR and drone to cars and coffee for them instagram posts

    9)  I've been to the drag strip where I like to go fast straight

    10)  I've also been to the road track where I go decently fast in corners.

Either way, I'm just like fuck you all because when I ride, I ride to do whatever makes me happy at that moment.  If I'm feeling frisky, I get frisky.  I don't worry about what others think of me (see myself holding a dildo in my avatar), regardless of how pissy they get when I go around them.

Start doing some research. Almost no normal insurance company is going to cover you on a track, probably not even a paddock. On top of that Your health insurance is probably not going to cover you if you get hurt and your personal liability insurance isn’t going to cover it you hurt someone else at a track day.

Buddy just wadded his brand new R1-S at PIRC in advanced when he lost his brakes. (Overheated his fluid) --  Fully covered by his insurance company.

K&N's insurance company covered my crash at Mid-Ohio.

Quite a few insurance companies do cover instructional schools on closed courses.  You just need to ask them.  Some will even give you a discount for taking them :)

When I met with my health insurance representative (years ago) as I was getting quoted for health insurance, they asked if I rode a motorcycle and I put yes, which increased my premium a few dollars.  When I asked him why they asked about riding a motorcycle he replied that, motorcycling is dangerous so your premium goes up slightly to account for that.  I'm assuming this means they would cover you if you got hurt on the bike.

  5. This sport or hobby, however you want to classify it, is such a physical and even more so mentally demanding activity.  I've always thought that the moment you are riding and not truly focusing on what you are doing because you are disinterested, scared, preoccupied, or for any other reason, you probably shouldn't be riding.   If you are 'forcing' yourself to get out on your bike, what's the point?   Riding should be fun and maybe even give you a nice adrenaline high, irregardless of the pace you are running.  If it's no longer fun, put it aside and try other things.  Maybe the passion will come back.

This is usually the discussion I see as we enter winter.  You start to burnout from the entire riding season.  For those who have payments on their bikes (or high insurance premiums) start to question whether they want to make payments through months they can't ride.  It's all cyclical cause once March hits, I see a ton of people jumping at the bit to get back on their bikes.

Personally, Nivin, I can see the track fixing a lot your issues.  You've got a boy now and that's put a lot of things in perspective for you.  The dangers of the street, which you've always known to exist, become that much more real.  The track eliminates A LOT of that nonsense.  You can go as fast as you want with no fear of the traditional street issues.

For me, bikes is only part of the passion for me.  I enjoy the camaraderie of riding with others and enjoying it together.  Some of my most fun is when we get off the bikes at a stop and the discussions that are had.  I enjoy the motography (motorcycle photography/videography) aspect of it too.  I enjoy trying to put something entertaining together for others to enjoy.

Just my .02.  I'd hate to see you leave the community Nivin, as you are a great person for this community.

disregarding police orders? People are claiming the OP shouldn't have shot, the second show some results of not shooting.

Both situations have their own unique circumstances which is why I always try to avoid comparing.  Each situation needs to be evaluated as its own.  The fleeing suspect turns back towards the officer and his hands come from his waist level.  That's an indicator of a potential firearm being used against the police after already fleeing.  I think that's justified in shooting to prevent anything further.
Also a huge rule for police is to prevent a person from getting back into their car after an altercation.  I wouldn't have blinked an eye if the female cop shot and killed that suspect as well.... but using the second situation as a reasoning for the first one doesn't seem okay to me.

Reply to them and ask if they want a class action law suit. That will get their attention.....

Trying to avoid threatening them because I feel that rarely works. I still have a few things I kept up my sleeve in the event this goes further.  I've got full recordings of everything that happened that day, including the crash and aftermath.  (Benefits of being a motovlogger) -  My best friend growing up is an attorney and said he'd draft me a letter to send to them if they don't get me a response in the near future.  If I have too, he will also help me file a small claims lawsuit and I'll be including all of the other damaged stuff that I didn't include in the original request along with mounting/balancing and include costs for labor and if I'm permitted by law, include attorney fees (my buddy said I might not be able to include that though).

I'm still going to give them the opportunity to do the right thing before I move forward, but I'm only going to wait a little bit longer without a resolution.

Good luck. If they can find a way out I'm sure they'll use it. The Performance Track Riding program at Mid Ohio is a rider safety/education school so... not racing.

Also, pretty sure they market their products as racing/performance products.

I've got a few screen captures from their website.
