Welcome. Nice bike.

If a cop sees you and can get to you, you are probably getting a ticket, but I do it whenever needed and have never had an issue with the law. However, I will warn you, it's not the police I'd be worried about. People get really upset when they see a bike taking advantage of this and they will cut you off purposefully and try to block you from getting by, for no reason other than the fact they can't do it and it pisses them off.... so if you do plan to lane split, I'd recommend being on incredibly high alert and do so at only a slightly higher speed than traffic is moving to give you plenty of time to react to those who can't understand what you are doing has no affect to them whatsoever.

Well another update - Looks like I may have to go the legal route. I've replied to the email letting them know I wasn't racing that I was participating in an instructional motorcycle class lead by instructors on a closed course. We shall see how this goes from here.

New Rider looking for some people to hang out with.

Awesome - Welcome to the forum. I loved my 2005 ZX10R. I'm a little north of you and the riding season is growing nearer to the end so may be a bit difficult, but keep an eye out on the Rides & Events section for people posting rides. Good way to meet people. In the Spring, I host an event called the "Epic Ride". It's a great way to get to meet a lot of the riders from here. Look forward to meeting you sometime. -
Do you know what/how it happened? No blame needs to be placed anywhere, just curious of the circumstances as an educational thing.

Sorry to hear about this. Was it someone you knew Justin or someone in attendance of the FJR rally?
-
Another random question, have you considered one of the newer Daytona 675's?

I can't be expected to read for this sort of stuff.

Where are you guys meeting?

Just like any good movie, it's only as good as the actor and Nivin was the lead actor on this one. He made the video look good! -

Was a blast... and yes you do! -
So my plan is to leave Saturday morning from Toledo and arrive at Iron Pony. Do the Iron Pony/SubD Meetup thing to AimExpo. Check out AimExpo and then after is completely open. Not sure if I plan to stay the night and go back on Sunday or ride back Saturday. Either way I'll be coming down from Toledo with about 7 others so not sure what our afterward plan is. I'll let you know more as I know more

Welcome to the chaos.

It's the streets. We ALWAYS need to accept the fact that they are unpredictable. If anyone gets upset because you aren't going full blast into the unknown, then you shouldn't be riding with them. Everyone I ride with accepts the fact that if you don't feel comfortable, slow down. A recent quote that I heard from pro racer Kyle Wyman has kind of stuck with me recently. "Don't accelerate into what you can't see." Great street advice. If you aren't sure what's ahead or around the corner, taking it at a reasonable and safe speed seems to be the only reasonable answer. Honestly, I had an incredible blast chasing you around trying to turn 2 bikes into 1. Probably some of the most fun I've had on the street recently. Even though we weren't trying to go mach retard (until 78 into Caldwell), I had a great time working on trailing you and learning your tendencies to get even closer, while trying to make sure I maintained being safe. Really made me focus on what was going on. I think it was fantastic practice for the track and learning to hold lines and pass 'slower' riders. Even though it's not legal, I think removing my mirrors has helped greatly too. I've always been a chronic mirror checker and not having mirrors let me focus more on what was in front of me. I think @durk had a blast watching me mimic your every move. He seemed about as excited as I was at the end of 536.

Ahhhh... so that's what he meant when he said 'before he gives up 2 wheels'.

Just going through some preliminary footage of me chasing @NinjaDoc around. Here are just a few screenshots to wet the appetite. @NinjaDoc ---- You're supposed to dodge the poles Nivin wants to see if the grass is greener on the other side. Always a good feeling when you come over a hill and power into a wheelie. Don't stop Nivin! haha And lastly, I'm not sure why I selected this one in particular, but it just represents us as motorcyclists and riding twisties. The full concentration, getting to push the limits, the adrenaline rush and just the outlook of knowing the road ahead that gets us excited.

I have no idea what you are talking about. No-one on OR goes triple digits.

Been about 58° but it might be a bit warmer tomorrow.

Myself, @6rMark, and Kyle (R6Obey) and a few of his buddies will be there. Not sure of who else.

He said no 'good' tablets. You're welcome.

Car manufacturers are starting to implement it so hopefully in the near future, you'll get into your car and you can set your phone on your center console and it'll auto connect to bluetooth and wireless charging. So convenient.
