  1. @o-no-moto Do you plan to meetup tomorrow? Anyone else planning on attending?
  2. Before I go too far, anyone see anything glaringly wrong with Sept 10?
  3. This bag doesn't have that option unfortunately. Must be because it's their lower level bag or something.
  4. Yea, just the tank cap is too far towards the seat on the GSXr so it doesn't work well. Lisa couldn't put her arms around me while riding because the bag was in the way. Just was uncomfortable. Upsetting cause I really liked the bag.
  5. I just bought this bag and it is awesome. It worked great on the Z1000. Unfortunately, on the new bike, it doesn't work out. It gets in the way when I try to corner. Very gently used bag. No magnets, no Straps. Quick disconnect for easy transport. Like New Condition. Holds quite a bit of stuff for only being 4L. Comes with velcro pouch also that covers window. Brand new these are $100-110 + mounting kit (20$/kit). Will come with the the BF01 mounting kit and BF04 mounting kit. BF01 is for Suzuki, BF04 is for Kawasaki. Make me an offer. Can negotiate transfer.
  6. Hosting two rides is fantastic, I just feel people don't make an effort to attend the rides because 'theres always the other one', then they don't attend the second one either. Up to you guys, I certainly have the time to organize a Fall one.
  7. Yea, we did, but we almost forgot lol
  8. https://goo.gl/maps/Hbckfept65y This is the route... We will head down 83, take 78W through McConnelsville... Just outside of Mcconnelsville, we will take 377S down to 550E. We will take that down to 7 into Marietta. We will eat lunch in Marietta, Take 7 to 800N into Woodsfield. 26 to 260 back up to 78W to 83N.
  9. I guess another question I have... I see a lot of people mentioning track day sales and 'certificates'.... When are these sales usually? I heard they do a nice sale on Black Friday. And what are the certificates? Are they transferable? Do you use them on any track day or do you still have to register??
  10. Yea, that's probably a pretty close time.. +/- 15min or so due to pace/traffic. If we know you are going to meet us, we can pick a spot and wait up.
  11. Specifically oriented at knowing the capabilities of the bike and being in better body positioning would make cornering safer on the street. Learning how to heavy brake, trail braking, etc...
  12. Thanks for everyone's inputs. Really will give me a lot of things to consider before heading down for my first track day. I'll be sure to bring my mini compressor for tire pressure, bike stands, zip ties, cooler with beverages, and an Open mind. Again, my main reasoning for the track day is to really work on my body positioning and gradually pushing my perceived limits of the bike for me to be safer on the streets.
  13. We'd probably reach 78 about 10:15-10:30. Probably reach 550 closer to 11:30-12:00. Hard to say exact times that far down because of stretch breaks. @whaler might be able to be a bit better person to ask on when we'd get to each location. EDIT: I also would like to eat lunch in Marietta As far as pace, I usually don't hear any complaints about going to slow, I'm on a new bike so I'm not sure how I'll feel comfort wise, so a slower than my normal pace might be a possibility. If my pace is too slow, I have no problem if someone who wants to go faster makes a safe pass and takes the lead. If the pace is too brisk, just have everyone ride their own ride. I have no issues waiting up. I'd easily wait a few minutes at turns/stop signs rather than waiting on rescue. Plus, if I get too far ahead, I like to hop off the bike, pull out the Nikon and shoot photos of the guys coming through corners.
  14. I've updated the first post to include meet spot, route, and renamed title to remove the 'feeler' part since this is going to happen.
  15. All good man, again, I'm on a new bike also.
  16. Don't think of it as a group ride. No one will be pushing you, just ride your own ride. But ultimately, up to you...
  17. Well whaler has confirmed he is in which makes this ride a go.... weather permitting. Route will be fairly standard, 83-78-377-550-7-800-260-26-78-83 with lunch in Marietta. Jump in or peel off at anytime.
  18. Talk to me. Let me know what works for you best. I'd prefer to go with some people I actually knew. Would make the experience 20x better
  19. I definitely don't need my hand held. I'm just trying to learn better body positioning and gradually pushing my perceived limits of the bike. I know from watching there were some people out there in the novice group that seemed afraid to lean the bike and then there were some whose pace I felt could have competed with the intermediate guys. The video was pretty much exactly as the documentation shows on their website so that's fairly straight forward.
  20. So I'm planning to do my first track day at Mid-Ohio sometime in the next month or so. I just recently went and spectated a track day so I kind of have a generalized idea of how it works, but help me understand the full process. I've read the website trying to understand everything to be prepared as I can be (I think this is why I've not done it in the past). As I understand it, I'll pre-pay/register for a novice track day. Show up in the morning, go through tech inspection. I've read through the tech requirements so I understand what is required there. The website says the helmet doesn't have to be SNELL rated, but I've heard otherwise. I have a Shoei GT-Air that has the flip down visor so it doesn't pass SNELL, can I use this helmet?? I have a one-piece BILT suit (I know it's not the best, but I didn't want to spend too much money on a suit until I know I'll need it), A* Gauntlet Gloves, Sidici full race boots. This is acceptable gear correct? Is there a class before hand to talk about things,? How do I get assigned a 'rider coach'? As I understand it, after the 20 minute session, we go back into a classroom for 20 minutes with our rider coach and review to learn from our mistakes and improve. Is everyone together and talking generalized information or is it with your coach and more rider specific improvements?? Are there any limitations they put on the novice group that they don't put on the intermediate group?? How does lunch go? I heard it was provided?? Is it enough food or should I plan to bring my own?? Lastly, if you could back and re-do your first ever track day, what would you do differently so I can prepare myself to not make those same mistakes?? (I plan to bring cooler with drinks & a pop-up tent.) Another random question, a buddy of mine has been interested in getting his son (15) out to do a track day. I read they require you to be at least 18 years of age?? How strict are they on that rule or do you have to contact someone to get it approved??? Just looking for some insight to calm my nervousness of not knowing. I was hoping to have some guys I know there to kind of learn together, but that doesn't look like it'll happen and I don't want to wait any longer before getting out to the track. Also I apologize if these questions seem dumb or silly, I'm just trying to be fully-prepared so I can focus on improving my riding while at the track and not worrying about the technicalities of how the track day is run.
  21. 260/26/800 are all phenomenal roads.
