  1. Hey stopped at Mid-Ohio on Monday, is this you??
  2. Planning on heading down to the river or so. So for me 400+miles, but again people can jump in, jump out as needed to fit their schedules
  3. If this goes down, ride will start in Wooster about 8am
  4. As some of you may remember from last couple years, my twin brother passed away in a motorcycle accident on July 12, 2012. The closest Saturday (weather permitting) to that date, I always try to make it a point to take a ride in his memory. Anyone interested in riding is welcome. I know vintage days at Mid-Ohio is also this weekend and quite a few have agreed to that. I did just get a new bike, so pace will be according to how I feel on it, if I feel uncomfortable, the faster guys can always take the lead and if I feel fast, I will wait for anyone at stop signs/turns. Meet at 83/250 in Wooster at the MinitMart.. Kickstands up at around 8am. Route will be 83-78-377-550-7-800-26-260-78-83 https://goo.gl/maps/Hbckfept65y Anyone who wants to attend but can't ride the full route is welcome to jump in or jump out at any point they want... just let us know when that will be so we can look for you or know you dropped out to head back and nothing bad happened. This ride is a go, weather permitting. Post up if you are interested.
  5. Weather makes this an easy call for me... I was really consider signing up, but with the weather forecast, I'm going to pass this time.
  6. But I'm riding with riders (you and wolfman1) that I feel confident won't get pulled in by my pace. If I ever feel that someone right behind me is out of control, I'd slow my pace to avoid pulling them into a corner beyond my comfort level for them.
  7. Keeping it tame in the straights is a good rule of thumb to keep the group relatively close together. Plus it keeps the LEOs at bay for the most part, or at the very least, the tickets reasonable. If you are in a group of all experienced and talented riders, the pace tends to pick up in the straights. Glad you guys had a good time.
  8. Very unlikely... Rarely does anyone want to lead the MED-Fast Group so I usually do it. I don't mind. That group of guys is fantastic.
  9. Jealous! Wish I could be out there, but I'm going to have a good time with my son. Speed safely!! Take lots of pics and full ride report afterwards!! Living vicariously through you guys.
  10. Nah, I've already got to take care of the 250 for the ole lady that she hasn't ever really ridden, but I can't really get rid of it and keeping 3 bikes for me isn't an option, especially 2 big bikes. Insurance + registration is annoying lol. And to be honest the new bike is sooo much fun, I'd probably rarely ever ride the ZZZZZZ
  11. I can agree with that, but I'm not made of money and I can ride the streets for just gas money. the track would cost me a bit more
  12. I would seriously consider it if I hadn't just got a new bike. I should learn the bike before taking it to the track lol
  13. Just kidding. It's an 08 GSXr 1000. Still not sure why I bought it, but it's fast and I liked it. Two brothers exhaust with PC5.... Guess that means I'm back on a sport bike.
  14. Gosh I need to do a trackday so badly.
  15. I usually try to avoid holiday weekends as the force is out in numbers + I'll have my son for the holiday weekend.... Speed safely!
  16. Looks like an awesome time. Videos are good too. Well done Doc!
  17. @ricer1 had mentioned it to me in a group text we had about organizing our part of the ride... Hope all is okay with him/bike
  18. Great ride everyone. Sorry we didn't tag on longer, Nivin @NinjaDoc. We wanted to visit the crash site from my accident in 2014 and it was the other direction. @dpgasser Sorry to hear about what happened. Glad you are okay. Hope the bike is okay also. Great ride for myself, personally. Got to ride with some guys I haven't in a while which was awesome. 420 or so miles in total with Red Iron wings to end it!
  19. Not sure how much tank you can grip with your knees, but if it's possible, try gripping the tank with your knees more to support your body which will take pressure off your arms. Keeping relaxed on the bars makes the ride so much easier and the bike will handle so much better.
  20. I'm using the X-Grip with Handlebar mount - Works great, comes with the tether, but I rarely use it. I did very slightly bend the prongs to it so the ends would be more on my phone with the case on it. Never had an issue, don't really offroad with it, but I definitely took it up well into the 140+ mark.
  21. @NinjaDoc Nivin, what time do you think you'll be at the FuelMart in New Concord??
