  1. I am glad it worked out for you. The key with the thread chaser is going slow and keeping it oiled so it doesn't bind up or snap. I have broke a few taps that way by trying to hurry the process.
  2. Quality and dependability is set aside for lower production costs and market share. I was always a GM fan, now I am just a GM/Pontiac classic car fan. Will never own a Chrysler/GM/Ford for the same reasons listed in this thread.
  3. This could be simply fixed by companies with online ordering putting a small disclaimer on every shipping charge that states may ship the next business day. At least it doesn't give the false impression that your order shipped an hour after it was processed. The way I see it is if I need something right away, I pay the rediculus charge for next day shipping, otherwise I will plan on it being at my door in 3-4 days. If it takes longer than that then I have a problem.
  4. I just use stock coolant in all my bikes, so I don't have these issues. I usually switch out my coolant every 2-3 seasons.

  6. That makes sense. I have had parts shipped for work from our satellite office in Toledo and sometimes don't get it until 2 days later. You would think you would get it the next day.
  7. Hello and welcome to the OR!
  8. Yes, take it easy on your test run. New tires are slick and you need to bed in your pads. Did you try spinning the wheel with the pads out? If you are getting a squeak without brakes it could be something else like a wheel bearing. I seriously doubt it due to the bike being so new, but you never know.
  9. It cant hurt to put the bike on the stands and pull the wheel. I have pulled my wheels to inspect my calipers and pistons on a couple of occasions. Once off, I will clean the caliper and pistons due to the crud that builds up on them. If you have a static balancer, you can set up the wheel to check run out on the rotors to see if its warped. Its common sense to me to inspect these items regularly anyway!

  11. Good luck with the sell, she is a beauty!
  12. +1 for Delkevic. I have had two of them, stainless slip on for my first FZ1 and now I have a carbon fiber slip on for the skunk FZ1. Great sound and not too loud. Haven't had any issues with them. For the price, you can't go wrong!
  13. Hey man, I am glad to hear you are working on that thing. Great job getting the dent out! Tank looks good! Good idea keeping the stock air box and exhaust. Let us know if you need help with anything!
  14. Any bike to look at is better than no bike to look at! I couldn't survive if I was bike less.
  15. I agree on thread chaser, be sure to use Kroil with it. Try and get as much rust out as you can before using the thread chaser.
  16. We just to eat later in the ride at a place we know has a clean bathroom for those who have to drop a #2. Problem solved! We frequent a little place in Fly,OH. Fantastic breakfast food served all day! Literally a dot on the map. Its located at 800/7 right where the Sistersville ferry crosses the Ohio River. Oh, almost forgot, they have a nice bathroom too!
  17. Looking good man! Maybe she will be ready for the spring Epic ride.
