Sounds like it might be time to pick up a couple of battery tenders. I had the same problem until I bought a battery tender. I got almost 7 seasons on the original OEM battery on my last FZ1. I plug it in after every ride.

Comfort is obviously a big factor for many reasons, for me its safety. If you are hurting all the time, it becomes quite distracting and could cause yourself to get caught out in a turn or something like that. Good move for the both of you! Now you can enjoy the ride a little more with less distractions.

Nice bike dude! Always liked how the VFR sounds. A guy who lived next to my apartment complex had one and rode every weekend with it. I used to stand outside and listen to him throttle her up. Hearing that and a buddy pushing me to ride, put me on two wheels the following summer!

Had Battlax BT023's on my last FZ1 and they were great tires. Bridgestone is phasing them out to the new Battlax T30's. I know the Pony had a great deal on all the remaining BT023's to make room for the T30's. That is probably what I will be going to on my next set. As far as plugging a tire, I am always weary about it due to the amount of flexing a motorcycle tire does especially when cornering. I found a piece of metal in my rear last year and the tire was half way gone, so I just replaced it for piece of mind.

I think I would keep it sport in my garage, but move over to a Concours or FJR. Way more room for a passenger with sport bike feel, handling and removable hard bags. Buddy of mine just traded in his bagger for a 15 Concours. Best of both worlds!

I wouldn't even try it! First off, if a State Trooper sees it you will be ticketed. Hell, I have had multiple people come into my lane and almost take me out while gabbing on a cell phone. I have had people enraged at me because I legally passed them and they have tried to keep up with me, without success of course!! Like everyone has said, Ohio drivers are idiots and will run you off the road just because you are on a bike.

That is a nice ride! I was looking at Gen2 FZ1 and the Z1000 as a replacement for my wrecked bike last year, but couldn't find one in my price range. Would have loved to have talked to you then. Ended up getting another Gen1 FZ1 I found in Indiana that I couldn't pass up. Good luck with your sale!

Pro Tek and Shogun are a couple of others I have seen that are available. Any input on the quality of these? This may be a stupid question, but whats the difference between cut and no cut?

Thanks for the input so far. Looks like T Rex makes them for my bike. Anyone use OES?

Unfortunately woodcraft doesn't make them for my bike. Any other suggestions?
