    NEO riders...

Riding in the county away from traffic
  3. NinjaDoc, I had a 1981 750 Honda for years when my (3) kids were growing up and maybe put 500 miles on a year. In the back of my mind I knew I would get a chance to ride again and have that feeling again..... it's in your blood. I traveled the country watching my kids play sports in high school and college. In 2007 my youngest told me he was not going to play college ball, I turned to my wife and said; "I'm buying a new bike". Since 2007 I have bought a 2005 FZ1 (Totaled), 2006 FZ1, 2008 FZ1, 2014 Kaw Ninja 1000 and 2017 FZ10. Doc, when you have the time you will allow yourself the time to ride. I believe it's in your blood, you currently have responsibilities with this phase of your life that will be worth the sacrifice, kids are worth it! You can pick up your passion later and enjoy bikes just as much.
  4. I have found after market motorcycle seats a huge improvement on the comfort of the bike. I have cruise control on the FZ10 which is great and use a "Go Cruise" on my other bikes. Allowing my hand a rest off the throttle helps my hand, wrist and arm fatigue. I a ride a road bicycle (Now limited to only 20 miles a ride) elliptical for (40) minutes when I can't ride the bicycle and lift weights four days a week. Trying to keep in shape allows me to ride 400+ mile a day on the motorcycle. I rode 3000 miles on the motorcycles in Florida this winter. I am currently on so many prescription drugs I don't take additional pain relief medications. I have taken them in the past and they are helpful on multi day rides.
  5. I noticed your birth date and saw you are younger than my kids.... LOL! Like I stated, JMHO on a Ninja 250. Buy what you want.
  6. I am wondering why you would want to buy a Ninja 250? It is the perfect starter bike, I bought a 2008 that was six months old for my son to ride as a beginer bike and he decided not to ride. I almost gave it away to my nephew to learn when he was 16. I got the Ninja 250 to 100 MPH one time on I271 and it took 20 minutes. It's a great first bike because you can never go too fast to get in trouble. I nicked named it the "shifter", because you were constantly shifting. As a previous poster stated, there are many other bikes, maybe a little older that would be better choices, unless it for a first bike. Ok, ok, all three of my bikes are 1000 cc bikes and I am used to that kind of power. JMHO!
  7. The believe government regulations require manufacturers to design the fender, lights, turn signals and license plates with parameters which make the rear end look ugly. Don't know the specifics, but it seems the street bikes all have an awful hunk of plastic to hold the license plate, lights and turn signals.
  8. That is a great looking bike, the blue is a beautiful color! The fender eliminator will really streamline the bike.
  9. In April 2008 I hit a deer on my motorcycle, (Totaled my 05 FZ1) I broke my Scapula and clavicle, it took (8) weeks before I was able to resume all activities. Good luck on your recovery!
  10. There is no doubt the fender eliminator will eliminate the fender and when it rains, the dirt sprays everywhere. Have to wash the bike after every ride in the rain.
  11. I have a Graves and a Yosi FE on my bikes. Both have license plate LED light and use the stock turn signals, I like the stock turn signals because they are larger than most after market turn signals. I prefer to be as visible as possible.
  12. Congrats on the new ride, that's a nice bike. New bikes of mine get fender eliminator and sliders.
  13. Please keep using the C, since he wants you to use a K..... it really pisses ToniC off!
  14. Sam, thanks for hosting a bunch of unruly people at you house, myself included. It's always great to see everyone before the riding season starts. Nice to see some hearty souls rode their bikes on a 40 degree rainy day to the Gay Garage Gang Bang Motorcycle Meat and Greet.
  15. I plan to bring big sausage, will you have a grill going? Will also bring lube for sausage.
  16. You have a garage, that's better than most of our houses.
  17. Look forward to hearing about your new position, CONGRATS!
  18. I should be there, I'll bring a big sausage for everyone to taste test! Hopefully the weather is OK and Sam can test ride my Ninja 1000.
  19. See you on Saturday April 28th, hopefully if the weather cooperates and I will ride. Sam, you can take the Kaw Ninja 1000 for a ride.
  20. NEO isn't the garden spot of the USA mostly due to the weather, but many people I know moved away to much nicer climates and then move back. Mostly because they want to be closer to family. Another advantages is area has is the the low cost of living versus many areas of the country (Think supply/demand). I always wonder, WTF were our ancestors thinking when they settled in the Cleveland area.... they should have continued west or south. We would have been riding year round!
  21. When I heard the woman was upset her channel was being demonetized and she went off, I thought Derek was involved somehow, someway. Tell us the the truth you radicalized her!
  22. Great to see everyone after a long winter, it won't be long until we hit the roads again. Yes it was a miracle that I survived and have recovered. Thanks for all the support and prayers everyone gave me and my family.
  23. Saturday April 28th is better with me, turns out May 5th wasn't going to work for me anyhow. Let me know if I can help and thanks for hosting.
  24. We are going to have a NEO dinner at Rick Roush on Monday April 2 at 6:30PM. We will linger until 8:30PM looking at bikes. This is the address: 3057 Eastpointe Drive Medina, OH 44256 Please let us know if you are joining us to estimate the quantity of food.
