Kobalt used to be rebranded JH Williams tools (Snap-on). Very good stuff.
Later on they used Danaher (same Taiwan mfg as Craftsman. Still better IMO).
Here's the BS: If you take a USA-made tool from 2006 in for the "lifetime warranty" - now you'll get a Chinese replacement.

Montgomery County's web site (for instance) says it has to be done in writing with a photocopy of the permit.
