Videos being archived to the YouTube now. Haven't analyzed the GPS yet to see what laptimes were, I'm guessing mid 1:40s. Nice to park next to @ludwb675 and his crew - first time seeing old friendly faces this year. 1:46s, time for you to bump up to the next group Brian! Was also really nice that the coaches/staff put together a 2 lap tribute ride to Ryan.

@ludwb675 Is Brett the guy on the green Kawi usually next to you guys? I've seen him, but not officially "met" him.
-
Cleared for the day off tomorrow! Hope to see a few friendly faces there...

At the moment -- Tuesday is looking like the best day... low 80s and overcast with 0% chance of rain. Depending on how much rain Sunday night brings (40% chance at the moment), Monday morning could be iffy.
-
@ludwb675 - Are you bringing Dave along w/ you? I'm debating Sun, Mon, OR Tues as well. Sunday would save me from having to use a vacation day..

Looking to upgrade the trackbike -- willing to entertain (partial) trades, though ideally for a newer 750 or 1000 sportbike. Further details are here: http://www.trackbikez.com/for_sale.html If the link is still up, it's still for sale.

That is a good lap! But now I'm wondering what kind of times Mark was turning given how fast he flew by coming out of T1. I'd like to get a GPS timer, but the Sony AS100V camera I use has a built in GPS. It's not super accurate (appears to be around 1Hz), nor can you review the times while you're out there, but if you want a video and laptimer all in one package for $150 (when I bought it anyway), it's not bad for a sanity check. Example: https://youtu.be/4VwPUwWRLWQ You can see the map trace is a bit all over the place (which also affects the accuracy of the MPH), and I usually set the start/finish right before madness since all the GPS signals seem to converge in that spot for the best accuracy I can muster from the data.

I'll be going to both. I hope Norwalk keeps their Wednesday night program and then D42 runs on Tuesday or Thursday night -- that leaves both days open for better weather if the other track doesn't pan out. It'll be pricing dependent as well - Norwalk's $9 Wednesday nights and $1 pound of ice cream are a pretty good deal.

Ohio Riders Unofficial Mid-Ohio Track Day - August 21, 2017
Trackbikez replied to TimTheAzn's topic in Track is Crack
I've got 4 certs, so I'll be there. -
Just got my 4 - I agree, $112.50 per session is an incredible value!

+1 for Armour Bodies. They're a little bit more expensive though. Granted, they didn't make an SV1000 set, so I specifically asked the distributor if the SV650 would fit, since the body is essentially the same, but I really wanted to make sure I didn't miss some silly detail. Was told yes, but in the end, the bodywork didn't account for the larger exhaust headers on the SV1000, so I have a burnt hole in the bodywork. Fitment was pretty good, except for the tail section - which was quite the bear to get on. Regarding paint -- I tried to get 5 different shops in the area to quote, no one returned my calls or e-mails, so for $250 including all the tools, I bought some vinyl and did a wrap myself. There's a video on my YouTube page of the process I went through to vinyl wrap it and my Armour Bodies review if you're really inclined to have a watch.

I just bought (2) of these to put on the SV. One of the guys I spoke with last time at MidOh wasn't running his S1000RR because the nut on the end of filter was pulling on the cap and causing some weeping, totally different failure mode than the one being discussed. I used Purolators before and was happy with them until they quit making them. This is my first time trying Hifiltro's and filters w/ the nut on the end. Should I be worried? I figure most of these filters are coming off nearly identical manufacturing lines.

How do these compare to A* SMX Plus boots in regards to level of protection for the ankle, heel, toes, etc.? I have the SMX Plus's now.

Craig definitely leaves an impression. Though when the guy in front and I rode by, we were pretty concerned. We both pointed at the corner worker, who was pretty much frozen and didn't know what flag to throw.

Even the EMS? Heal up bud!

Thanks for the update! Advance doesn't seem to fill up, so I think I'll be OK as a walk-in. I'm using my last gift certificate (of 4) for tomorrow, and then Wednesday...ya know, because I bought 4
-
How's the crowd today? A lot staying for tomorrow? Last few times there's only been a dozen or so in the group. I don't anticipate having to fight for a walk-in spot, but some eyes on the ground for a second opinion never hurt.
-
If the weather holds, and I can walk-in -- I'll be there on the 6th and 7th.
-
I'm planning on walking in to 'A' group on Tuesday 9/6 and Wednesday 9/7 for rider appreciation. Been a long month without trackdays, and it'll be good to ride with you guys again!
-
Speaking of -- has anyone received the e-mail about it yet? I haven't received anything. I'm hoping to do both 9/6 and 9/7 back to back, weather dependent.
