I walked into the bosses office with a sharpie. Wrote "Jacob gone" on the 2nd. It's official. He laughed and said something about only living once.

I currently work 55-60 for $80k in a very similar job that you're being offered. Saturdays suck. 2 weeks vacation, 100% of mine and Katie's insurance premiums paid for and a 401k profit sharing plan. Its worth it to me but Saturdays still suck. Because we are a small family company, I can work extra during the week and take off early on a Saturday to go ride. If that couldn't happen, it'd be tough. What sort of flexibility would you have on your schedule?

We have a cool house now, I'm really happy with it. One fun part it is being able to offer space to traveling musicians to crash for a night on their way down the road. These are the guys I just met who are staying in the guest rooms. Nice folks. Hope they don't wreck the place while I'm at work!

Still need somebody. Entry Level Machinist - B&G Tool At B&G Tool we build and repair tools, dies and fixtures. Our goal is to provide quick turn-around and quality work at a competitive price. Established in 1965, our craftsmen are dedicated and skilled, most of them having been part of the B&G family for over 20 years. We specialize in intricate, angled bend dies along with our gauges and fixtures, compound angles, and multi-plane surfaces. Software we operate: Solidworks, Bobcad, Virtual GibbsCAM We accept small jobs and walk-ins as well as assisting with design. We are certified to ISO 9001. We are looking for an entry level machinist or two to mostly help prepare material and make material test samples. The person will operate surface grinders, manual roughing mills, manual lathes (to a lesser degree), saws, drill press, etc. Competency with hand measurement tools (mics, calipers, height gauge) and an ability to read a print and hold tolerances are important. Above all else, we need a person who works hard and is willing to learn. We anticipate some on the job training. We are a small company, but with an additional building coming this year we are looking for dedicated and self-motivated new folks to add to our team. Pay is dependent on experience and competency. Healthcare insurance costs are covered, a 401(k) plan is offered, profit sharing vestment starts on day one, vacation pay after 1 year, and two yearly bonuses. We offer a safe and fun work environment and take pride in the fact that we get up and make (different) great parts every day. What exhaust are you going with? Who's doing the flash?

Need new rotors for Izzy, 60K miles and they are roached. Never shopped for rotors before. Anybody have suggestions? Sent Mike @RidersDiscount a quote request for some, but I don't have any background on what I really need. For the street, maybe a couple track days, but mostly street. Prefer not a spend a zillion.

Hope to never use these tank protectors. The fit is ok, not great, but looks like they will offer protection should I toss it down the pavement. Extra thick carbon fiber on the pointy bits seems substantial.

Did I mention I have heat in my shop?! Love it. Not crazy cold out, but a little bit of warmth goes a long way toward my motivation. I think the clutch cover is stupid expensive, but it sure would look cool and is a hell of a lot cheaper than a new clutch and associated engine bits. Maybe after I figure out how much I owe in taxes this year...

My buddy rode his giant BMW last year at mid ohio and I know he didn't have full track boots. Check the tech page I linked to in the second post of this thread for the requirements. Borrow a real pair of boots or buy a set, it's a good excuse to get better gear for the steet!
