  1. I really like the eastern sections of WV around Seneca rocks. We did ride through Hawks Nest over by Fayetteville and it was rough as shit though.
  2. Yeah he had a helmet, knocked out cold for a minute or so, our friend said he the guys eyes were severely swollen, bleeding from the nose, compound fracture on his arm was really bad, bone sticking out, sternum was broken, he was making noises rolling around but didn’t seem there. Ambulance got there in about 25 minutes cause they were just down at the hill climb in Robbinsville. They called for a helicopter but a storm rolled in and they wouldn’t fly. Closest trauma centers were 2 and 4 hours away they said.
  3. The lady was very shaken up, she said she tried to swerve but it was too late. It was literally the last corner before the straight stretch in front of the resort. We were sitting in front of our room and heard the impact. Our buddy is an EMT so we went up with his med kit but the trauma was severe. The guy went head first into the A pillar of a Cadillac Deville. I couldn’t even recognize the bike it hit so hard, but later found out it was a 2023 Hayabusa.
  4. Home safe from my gap trip. 1400 miles for the weekend. I did witness a fatal crash on Saturday and it was definitely an eye opening experience. Stupid decision by the motorcyclist trying to pass in a blind corner and hit a car head on.
  5. We had a big breakfast and ended up getting to Franklin at 11 when they opened. The Opal Basil Shrimp was also amazing as always.
  6. Loaded up and heading south for the smokies. Took 16 through WV/VA, staying in Abingdon, VA tonight. Staying at the gap store the next three nights.
  7. It’s crazy how busy that road has gotten. When Tim and I went across it there were no reservations or anything. It was busy but nothing terrible, road was in good shape too. We hit a few spots of road like that in I think Yellowstone where they just completely removed the road and left mud.
  8. Oh I can feel the anger hahaha
  9. Got out for a little shakedown ride. The FJR is all ready to go for the trip to the gap. 555 has some fresh chip and seal on the southern end. It’s not the normal chip and seal, a lot smoother.
  10. Tim and I experienced the same thing coming south out of Sturgis. The relentless wind takes a toll on you.
  11. Installed new highway pegs to replace the old worn out ones. Also got my bar risers installed. Install was unique because the bike has an aftermarket triple clamp that uses a different mounting system. A trip to the hardware store and we’re back in business. Bars are fourth back and up and rotated flatter with the triple clamps and riser.
  12. Have fun! Safe travels!
  13. 😂 I took the photo was dad and I were buttoning up the fairings.
  14. Got the bike all back together. It’s always good to go through the bike when you first get it. I found several things not adjusted or torqued properly from the previous owner. I feel a lot more confident in the bike after knowing everything has been done correctly. The bike is ready for a shakedown run and maybe some day rides before my trip.
  15. Two new tires, new upgraded cam chain tensioner, re-torqued steering bearings (after finding out the previous owner already upgraded to tapered roller bearings), new tail light bulbs, dif oil change, removed and plugged the secondary air system, and still gotta put the led headlights in. Dad helped me a bunch and got started on it while I was at work. Almost all back together now. Bar risers on the way too…
  16. Yeah, just gotta apple carplay and make the bike slower 😂
  17. Got my throttle all set up the way I like it. Might throw some heated grips on in the future.
  18. Not much today, but the original key had seen better days, and I wanted a spare key for my Corbin Smuggler so I got some key blanks and headed to the locksmith.
  19. I’m sure the arrogant guy from Traxxion has a solution to everything for the Goldwing 😂
  20. Yeah, he thinks getting comfortable with the bike and more front braking is causing it.
  21. I just talked to my dad and he is experiencing the exact same thing. Usually 2 rears to a front and now he is getting less mileage out of a front than a rear.
  22. Hmm, may have just gotten a bad tire? I’d be curious to see if it happens again.
