  1. Prior to 1994 you could by imported (Chinese were the big dogs) steel core 7.62x39 really cheap. It was banned from import because somebody (Olymic Arms?) built an AR style pistol in that caliber. I don't think that they sold any of them. They were demonstration units for the Shot Show. The ATF used that as an excuse to pounce. Ever since then I have only seen AK ammo with a lead core instead of steel. I just had a handgun at that time so I wasn't important to me. I wasn't made aware until I picked up a SKS a few years later. AP ammo in a rifle = OK AP ammo in a pistol = No bueno.
  2. It's absolutely going to happen. 7.62x39 steel core was banned a while ago. I believe that it was because shops started manufacturing 7.62x39 pistols. Steel core pistol ammo is no bueno according to our masters.
  3. $39.99. I bought a 10mah unit off of amazon for $13 if you need something cheap.

  9. I have a White Castle right down the street. Every once in a while I get a craving and pick up a few. Then I wonder WTF I was thinking and don't go back for months or even years. Last time I went it struck me that they aren't cheap any more. I got a combo and it was like $7.
  10. I wonder if there isn't some DNS shenanigans going on. Every once in a while when I try to hit the site I get redirected to some shady site. I assumed that it was my PC and ran a malware scan to clean it up.

    OH 555?

I have seen a few youtube videos comparing this to the tail of the dragon. What's the scoop on this route? Is it worth the ride? There seems to be a common complaint about lots of gravel in the corners.
  12. Nice! I catch grief when I clean a gun on the kitchen table. I can't imagine the reaction that I would get if I brought my bike inside! Welcome to the shit show!
  13. One of the guys had a yellow 250 ninja for sale here. Check out the Bike Shop section to see if it's still available.
  14. I can't ride with you guys. My FZ07 will look like a moped! I'm in Suntucky. About halfway between the two of you.
  15. How much to powder coat a couple of rims?
  16. Fair enough. I am just pissy because I couldn't make it.
  17. How was the show? I can't think of anything better than driving though 10 inches of snow with a hangover.
  18. I was going to try to make the show but I just found out today that my job is being eliminated in 45 days. Hopefully someone can post some pictures of the show. Emergency super secret budget! Maybe next year. Hopefully I can get something lined up quickly so that I can make the Indy show next month. I think that I applied for 15+ friggin jobs today. Cross yer fingers. If I have to sell the bike I am going to be sooooo friggin' upset. I haven't even gotten it broken in yet.
  19. I am looking for an infosec position. I just found out today that my current position is being eliminated in 45 days. I'd appreciate any leads around CBus Windows/Linux Vulnerability Management Security Event Monitoring Data Loss Prevention Application Security Reviews Risk Reviews PCI Thanks Wojo72
  20. Fair enough. Maybe next time. "High" pricing is always somewhat of an objective statement. I think a better statement might be that it was just more than what YOU felt a particular bike was worth. Endless variables when looking at a used bike versus buying new. Every situation is unique to it's own and I welcome comparative pricing on anything we sale. Just need to know what it takes to earn your business. It's not always going to work out, just how it goes.
  21. I saw a site today that had oscar the grouch, grover and several other characters. They weren't as nice as that one. They were around $40 and slipped over your existing helmet.
