  1. Rode the Concours for 540 miles today. Today was the first day I haven’t had something going on since my last day of work on the 10th. Rode some different roads. Much needed getaway.

    FJR vs Concours

Have you sat on a Goldwing? I haven’t ridden 1 but my wife and I went and looked at 21s. My Concours is 650lbs and I can feel it. The Concours carries some weight up high. The Goldwing didn’t seem heavy on the showroom floor. I believe it carries the weight low 🤷‍♂️. Nothing to back any of that up other than straddling both bikes and tossing them side to side. What is this cruise you guys speak of? I feel like the throttle lock my Concours has is awesome. It’s like I’m riding a touring couch compared to those 500 plus mile days I put in on the CBR. I guess it’s all in one’s perspective and expectations. @Scruit my experience so far with the Concours has been great. I’m 6ft and it fits me fine. I don’t know that it would work well if I was much shorter. I do notice the weight at a standstill, but once I get it rolling it handles great and definitely will move. Good luck with your purchase.
  3. Bummed I can’t make this happen. I actually scheduled myself to work with a buddy today. I’m hoping to ride tomorrow. Enjoy your ride.

    Dragon prep run

@BlitzNot sure. I’m weather watching. Planning to leave on a Monday and return on a Thursday. Based on the forecast I’m not going next week. So I may make my way down the same time you’re headed down. We need to get together and ride again. Hope all is well.

    Dragon prep run

This will be a return trip. We did it 4 years ago on the CBR. We trailered down, however. This time I want her to get the whole effect.
  6. Tory and I are planning to ride to the Dragon this summer (big reason for the Concours purchase). We rode my normal route today to see how we’d hold up. Close to 550 miles in 11hrs with a lunch break. The Concours and her travel 2 up very well.
  7. Rode both of them today. Both were short hour or so rides. CBR solo and Connie with my wife, Amy. Good times on both bikes.
  8. Installed new axle tonight. Of course I had to test it. First test was to compare weight. The original weighed 15.4lbs. The new $68 EBay China made weighed 15lbs. That was reassuring. Then I hit the track and it had no issues.
  9. Give me a couple weeks and I can make these weekday rides. Next week I have Monday and Tuesday free. 1 of those I will be riding with Tory. I hope to be riding solo the other day.
  10. Took the Concours out for 400 plus miles today. I’m definitely getting comfortable with the big girl. Dragging the left peg was an eye opener.
  11. Here is my tentative route. I'm riding the Concours so I'm guessing/planning I'll be slower.
  12. Enjoy your ride. I can’t do Sunday. I’m hoping to get out Monday.
  13. I’m not sure how to do that. You can come show me how. Maybe you can get @B-Mac to assist since he has experience.
  14. I’d be interested, but the wife has me on sonogram duty for her cows tomorrow morning. Vet is coming out to make sure they’re prego.
  15. So this happened last night as I climbed the face of 1 of my doubles on my track. Thankfully I cleared the double and stopped before running into the electric fence. Anybody interested in a slightly used Kfx450r? It’s never been raced. Just ridden primarily by a 44yr old on my own property.
  16. Climbing that hill was a bit sketchy.
  17. Your accident actually shook me a little. I can’t imagine how much the accident has affected you. Glad to hear you got back out there.
  18. The day I mounted them it was like 85 degrees here. I tossed the tires on my asphalt drive for an hour before mounting them. It really helped to make them more pliable. Still had to work to mount them. I didn’t need a second set of hands like I often have in the past.
