  1. I’ve read you can do this. To be honest the front 1 is dead, and in cold weather the rear flashes. I’m half tempted to pull the rear. I hate when the dash starts flashing. I’ve never needed the dash to tell me the pressure on the CBR. I’ve have a tool to check that 🤷‍♂️
  2. Monday I decided to order a set of Roadsmart 3s to have an extra set tires around since both bikes have the same size tires. Then I discovered this on the front tire of the Concours. So the bike looks like this now. Guess I’ll have to order another set to have extras. I’m shocked how easily I was able to spoon off that rear tire. I’m guessing 80 degree weather makes tire removal easier than the 50-60 degree weather I often try to do it in.
  3. Changed the oil, flushed the clutch fluid, washed it, installed a ram mount, cleaned, and lubed the chain after yesterday’s shenanigans
  4. Good seeing you Pete. In the future your not aloud to sand bag in the morning then run that BMW up my rear in the afternoon. Just kidding buddy it was a blast tearing up 800, 26, 260, and 145 with you.
  5. Good call, glad you made it back in time and had fun today. Definitely do it again.
  6. I have found the happy wife thing to be true for a happy life. The question is did you rescue her plants? It was great to see you in my mirror all morning. One of these days I’ll get you to complete a loop with me again.
  7. Left the house this morning in sub 40 degree weather. As I made my way to New Concord, seemed like a guy looked right at me and still went to pull out in front of me. Thankfully he heard my horn and stopped. I had a deer run out in front of me and multiple buzzards just chillin in the middle of the road, no kill even present. On 83 had a state truck spike his brakes to save a squirrel’s life. Had some dude on 800 brake check me for some unknown reason. I barely even had to touch my brakes to avoid him. Then he motioned for me to pass him. When I passed him he gave me the #1 sign and yelled something 🤷‍♂️. The great thing is none of that matters because I had an awesome day riding with some awesome guys. Close to 550 miles today. Great first long ride for the season. Thanks for coming out @B-Mac, @FatWilbur, and @Muckles.
  8. Made it home safe gents. I’ll post more later.
  9. Should see you coming. Have you ventured out on the bike yet?
  10. Looking forward to seeing you 2 gents in the morning. @Muckles you still in?
  11. The Concours is not going that far for me. If you start rolling the throttle back much at all she sucks fuel. I think I’m averaging around 33-35mpg. The CBR has a smaller tank but actually gets better gas mileage. I would say the Concours can go farther but I’d be reluctant to push it. I’m guessing around 150 miles at normal twisties pace and I’m going to be wanting fuel.
  12. These arrived today. This Concours has me spending more money than I ever thought to on the CBR.
  13. Glad you’re okay and able to ride away.
  14. I hope you can join even if it’s only for a portion.
  15. I’m liking your setup (windscreen, seat, touring pegs).
  16. Enjoy your time buddy. Look forward to riding with you.
  17. Look forward to riding with you buddy.
  18. Pete if you’ll just be returning from your Superbike school go easy on me. This will be my first long trip south.
  19. As long as the weather is good I plan to be @ the New Concord Marathon gas station right on 83 by 10:30. I plan to be on the CBR. We'll see who all is interested in riding. If anybody wants to catch me on my way down chime in. I'll essentially be making my way from Lisbon. You'll see in the route I'm not planning to loop back to New Concord. Feel free to split off whenever it's best for you. This is the longer route I'm leaning towards: Longer Route This shortens it a bit if we want to save time: Short Route My guess is my pace will be medium fast.
  20. Bike actually came with a throttle lock. It’s nice for the slab. I purchased a trunk I really like. I’ve been eyeballing a ram-ball mount. Thanks for the info.
  21. The 023 seemed okay yesterday and it wasn’t warm. I ran it pretty much edge to edge. I don’t quite like that. I’ll probably go with RS3s they seem to have more cornering clearance. I’ve run them forever on the CBR. I like them and I know what I’m getting. I basically just setup the bike exactly as you described prior to even reading your post. The front was already set to your specs but I was too soft on the rear. Thanks for the info. I had been looking at the V stream and decided to give it a shot sense you mentioned folks like it. Hopefully I don’t come out to a melted dash.
  22. Just checked, the rear is a Bridgestone. But I think some of my problem is I didn’t have my rebound cranked up enough. I just tightened it down some more. I’m just running the tires it came with so I’m not too upset. It has a Roadsmart 2 on the front and a Bridgestone BT023.
  23. @2talltim and @Connie14 since you both chimed in, what windshield and seat are you both running on the Connie? What are your must have farkles as well?
  24. Took the Connie out for a spirited with my daughter Tory. Put down 300 miles. Checked the rear tire at Calcutta gas station and realized we were using all the tire available there from edge to edge. I also discovered I’m developing the cupping issue @2talltim has posted photos of multiple times. Jury is still out on the Saddlemen seat I installed. It’s a definite improvement for the passenger but I’m not sure I like it for me and if it will make mamma happy. Time will tell. It took Tor some time to get used to not having to hold on and just lean back. Next move is to try a couple long days in the saddle to see if we can ride all the way to the Tail and back. Saddlemen seat for sure makes more room for me and the passenger.
