How will a 650 make you a better rider than a 600? Also, how in the heck is a 600 going to get you in more trouble than a 650?

1)CBR 600 F1, F2, F3 or an SV650 is your best bet! You could even go Kawasaki EX250/500 or a Katanna. For the money I wouldn't even consider less than a CBR 600.

To much bad info in his post. Anyone with a clue will call his BS. Z06 intake, 389/398 to the wheels and since when is a Vette 3,800lbs.... Still sounds like a ricer idiot to me.....but the LSx swap is a start.

Unless he has a Vortec on it which is the norm for those motors..... I would just get a 100-shot (along with the other cheap bolt-ons) and be done with it. You won't know until after the fact so no point in spending big bucks (heads, cam, etc...) if your dealing with a 12.90 or 13.50 car....

I figured someone else on here has witnessed a 98 Cobra besides me. I didn't want to have to dig through old threads or magazines to prove it.....

No offense but you guys need to get out more. The 98's were def faster than the 96-97's. Maybe not on paper but they dyno'd higher and ran quicker with equal drivers. I have seen several bonestock 98's go 13.3-13.5 with less than 500-miles and a P-plate. With 4.10's ONLY I have even seen a couple break consistent 12.8-12.9 with ZERO other mods. This is at Houston Raceway Park in about 85 degree heat.

What do you have done? Auto/Man? Have you been to the track? It's all in the launch. Unless one of you misses a gear, it will be up to the driver if both cars are in 100% working condition and all other factors are considered....

Not true! I had a bonestock 97 Cobra that went 13.60's all day. With gears, meter, DR's, exhaust it went 12.90's.... The 98's are a little stronger also and have been know to go 12's with just gears. IMO....the 98 is the best year of that motor/bodystyle configuration.

So what's the storey with the 636? Is this going to be a track bike? Just cruise because if you have the GSXR-1k why would you need/want another twisty bike? I figured something with a TURBO on it would have been more appropriate....

The price is high but considering it has a warranty. You could blow it up a couple times and it would be covered....RIGHT!?!?!

Considering the SALEEN Ranger that he did back in 89, it doesn't surprise me that he did the focus. IMO.....other than the S-351R and the S7, I am surprised he is still in business.

If you have the right attitude, you could start on a BUSA or any liter bike. It's just when you get brave and try things you shouldn't, you will hurt yourself. As long as you drive it civilized, you won't have a problem. I would get AT LEAST a 600cc bike and even then I would think about something bigger. Just for the fact that if you learn properly and don't wreck in the first 60-days, you will be sick of a 600cc bike after that. BE SMART, TAKE A MSF COURSE AND BE SAFE!!!

I don't really see why you guys care? Life happens, things change and so do priorities. Sometimes you just get plain bored with shit and want a change (hence the modding process from the beginning). The point is you can't hold on to every project you start and finish forever. Shit, I can't even think what I would do with all of those cars/bikes if I still had them. That's just what I can think of.....WHAT WOULD YOU STILL HAVE IF YOU NEVER DECIDED TO SELL A CAR/BIKE/TRUCK PROJECT???

I was about to say something about the STI-GT35R vs GT but I see you changed your mind. Don't be fooled, the GT with basic mods are complete animals. Don't get me wrong it would probably get owned from a stop light but anything past that and they are SICK! One of the guys on the Viper boards was talking about making a TT-GT! I can't wait to see if that goes through.....
