  1. Everyone signs a waiver to race, surely the NHRA would have lawyers review any rule changes that could result in that...
  2. This rule is for 100% OEM vehicles. Regardless of the speed/times the car must be as delivered from the manuf. It's to allow stock vehicles to run in stock classes without having to be turned into a caged out race car. It may have to do with pressure to get these factory cars off the street or meet other rules in place or planned...

  5. I like your posts Kirk and glad you have been going through all the cars I've been looking at because it's saving me money... I've had my doubts about a GT500 and your posts and many other owners like them pretty much confirm my issues with purchasing another Mustang. Really looking forward to your review on the GTR (hopefully a '13 model). Something about that car though and everyone I know that has bought one has sold it soon after. All that's left is for you to get a new Viper or 997.2TT and you'll complete my list...

  10. It also depends what his combo is setup for max rpm. Stock redlines are roughly 6,400 with a C5 Z06, C6 Z06 is 7,100rpm and ZR1 is 6,500. I'd guess he's close to 7,000 on his all motor setup so that bumps those speeds just a bit... Many people feel the ZR1 ratios 1-4th and Z06 ratios in 5-6th combined with 3:90 gears is a HOT ticket!

  16. I wouldn't say everyones doing it. Maybe a few talking about it but not everyone is doing it.....the 250+ club is a small club! Only problem is you are talking about magazine corrected times. In reality there is a very small % that are actually running 9's on a 100% box stock OEM bike. That's like saying anyone with a STOCK C6 Z06 run's 10's when it's just not happening. Agreed....depending on the setup either could run 9's with little fuss.
  17. It's not even about that, it's that it's over in just 4, 6, 7, 8-seconds whatever...it's tough for me to get excited about that. At least in a Mile or somewhere like Bonneville you are WFO until you are out of gear, traction, blowup, whatever, etc....lol. Then again, I'll never have a designated RACE CAR. My stuff is 100% street-able and could be ridden/driven across country to a race go 200+ and drive home. But that's what I like and build, I don't/won't own a one trick pony.. The best part is we can all choose what we like and build/race whatever we each want... :fuckyeah:

  19. I'd like to see Mark come out and run with them. Before everyone starts comparing times/speeds, etc. People forget that these events have ZERO track prep. His car wouldn't run anywhere near a 6-sec 1/4 on that surface. He has the power but (like many others) getting it to the ground is always going to be the problem. Would love to see him come out and run it at a half or 1-Mile event and see what it/he can do... :thumbup:
  20. It's reasons like this that I haven't bought another American auto product in several years. It seems everyone I know has had some kind of issue with a "NEW" Ford, GM, etc. and the company isn't standing behind the product. In the last two years I have come very close to buying a Raptor, F150 Limited, and now a '13 GT500 but everytime I go to a dealer to look and drive them I just can't do it. There are so many things I just don't like and can't stand about them. Not to mention the dealership STAFF completely wreck the entire experience...
  21. I like the RS6 a LOT! Then again, I'd take any of the German cars (E63, M5, etc.) over the CTS-V any day. But bang for buck the CTS-V is great especially now that they are in the $30k's used but it's still a GM regardless. CTS-V is like the Foxbody of the Sport Sedan class...
