  1. CTS-V? That's the dealer, not Ford.....go to another dealer, that's complete BS!
  2. How wild do you plan to take the vehicle? If you want 1kwhp+, I would probably pass on both. If you want just a basic setup then I would keep the C5Z and get a C6Z in addition (unless you want to wait for the C7).
  3. Think further down the road, years instead of months. Sounds like you are going to be so busy you won't have much time to enjoy it. Just keep putting the cash away and get something better when you return from deployment... Pay cash and do your thing when the time is right and setup for life after the military...
  4. Only problem is none of those toys are worth anything. Again, if you actually had ALL of that at the same time on E3 pay then you had another job on the side. And when it takes you 4-YEARS to do, it's not much fun when you are gone for more than half of that time... And?.... ...What is your plan when you are no longer active? If you can pay cash with plenty still in savings, do it. Otherwise, keep saving, finish your school and then you can buy almost any toy you want...
  5. I wouldn't buy either.... ...and depending on your rank if you are military, you won't be able to afford to do what you really want IMO and just end up selling it. So the cheaper the entry price, probably the better...
  6. Just another little Texas "street" car...
  7. It doesn't work that way. It's not based on the volume of each model, its the average of everything in there lineup. So it doesn't matter if they sell 10MILLLION A3 TDi's and 1-R8, it's the average of the total models built for x market. Also, luxury/exotic brands are in another category that's why Lamborghini also has anywhere from a $3,000-6,000 gas guzzler tax added onto the sticker price... Vehicles are only going to get more expensive: http://www.akdart.com/cafe.html
  8. LOVE it, just wish we could get the RS6 V10TT in the US... To add onto what Jones said, it's a pretty much required these days with the EPA and government manufacture averages as a whole. You can't just have one model get 35mpg-65+, all models have to average out to a certain requirement...
  9. They are pretty rare and hard to find in that condition: http://www.bmwmregistry.com/model_faq.php?id=9 I don't think it's worth that kind of money though...
  10. This is just crazy....prayers sent to the family and for the husband/daughter in this critical time....very sad...
  11. Until they start playing in the NFL, what's the point....have fun while it lasts...
  12. Could be a peak/start to the ECOboost Coyote in the next gen Mustang...but who knows at this point...
  13. Have you been to Texas..lol..? Some all hat no cattle going on,...well if you aren't making 1,300whp+ you don't have a chance....so some build the cars that win (with a hired driver) and then drive them to the cruise in's on Sunday...
  14. Weight is more important from lower speeds and/or a dig race. From a higher speed aero is more important.... Can I recommend a library card for Christmas... j/k
  15. Look at the big picture. For instance pro players are only guaranteed money under certain circumstances. I know a few guys can't even own/ride a motorcycle, bicycle, anything because if they get hurt outside the game or can't play they are SCREWED!!! For some it's also not why, but why not? They have the money and the means to build/own it, who is stopping them from doing it? They can drive it, just because they aren't going to race it doesn't mean anything. Heck, look at all the people that do car shows. I can't stand fixing up something to LOOK nice but never run, race, or even drive it. That's far worse in my opinion but again different strokes for different folks. Some people just don't like going fast....
  16. Cool video! Apparently, some people don't know how flying and training happen in the cockpit...lol.
  17. Power-to-weight and gearing all plays a roll. Where have people been, this is basic racing 101...?
  18. Don't get me started on the cost of that crap but better safe then sorry. You get to a point in life where it's just not worth it! Other things are far more important... Then again, your view changes a lot when you can afford almost all the toys you dreamed about.
  19. LOL...that sounds like some neighborhoods in Houston...
  20. Looking forward to your thoughts on the next phase of mods Kirk! ....I don't blame you for keeping the C6Z simple mods. From what I've seen you damn near have to rebuild the entire car when going further.
  21. I understand what you guys are saying and agree to a point but....some jobs/insurance won't allow them to. If something were to happen, some don't want to write a check that big.... ...for those not quite in that league. Maybe the car was just built and the owner isn't use to the vehicle and/or new upgrades. It is smarter and makes more sense for a seasoned driver to take the wheel. Once the owner has built up the ability to drive at that level then maybe they will say okay...
  22. Completely different setups, you can't really compare them. Not to mention the runway has ZERO VHT or surface prep....
  23. It's a status thing for them. The lower the # means the more money or power you have in some countries. You can't get options like some places so the lowest # means "Mr. BadAss!"
