Most non-car people think good handling is defined by fastest lap time... :no: Why aren't we all driving Boxsters, RX8s, M3's, etc....lol.. ...and that is why! You guys drove the secretary model with the soft suspension, floaty, wet noodle ride. Go drive a BOSS and maybe you'll change your mind...

Which version did you drive and what options? If it wasn't a GT track pack, BOSS, or GT500 I am not surprised. Most of the base cars are sold to people that want a soft ride. That's the problem with most American cars....people don't know what handling is. We are the 1% market that actually cares, otherwise you wouldn't see 99% of the stuff sold on the road... That's like saying all Audi's handle like crap when really you wouldn't bother even looking at anything that wasn't an S or RS model...

Boost by gear and the right setup as others have said,... You've got to decide what you want from the bike. You aren't going to get more nimble with a long swing-arm; you need to shorten it up and set it up for that. Even then you won't have the high speed stability with the lighter smaller bikes... Bill's bike can make that power but its turned way down. The 311mph was run in 1.5-mile and his run a couple weeks ago of 290mph was in 1-mile (but he forgot to shift, watch the vid I posted). The bike will go 300mph+ in 1-mile its only a matter of time. One of the reasons it looks so easy is because of the aero. He spent a lot of time in the wind tunnel developing and designing that bike for top speed. Once he realized how good it cuts through the wind, the overdose of horsepower wasn't needed. That's why he has a LOT left on the table... His other bike, the street-bike that went 278mph in 1-mile would be a better comparison. ...regardless, you don't want a crazy stretched bike for top end/speeds. You've got to shorten it up if you want it to hook. Those bikes do well on a prepped track, not on the street. Look at the former record bike built by Rich Yancy that went 260mph in 1-mile. You really can't compare them when the base model in Europe isn't available in the US. So apples to apples like in the article they are £2k apart loaded. So in that market IMO the TT 1.8T is the better buy...

Dover, don't waste the money you already have a better platform. Toss that Velocity setup and get a bigger RCC kit for your BUSA. That's probably a 240whp setup 1k in the vids. What do you think your BUSA with 500whp+ will do in those races... :gabe:

I only read a little and not the entire thread......I'm not a sports fan but my thoughts are....this kind of ruling is only going to make schools go through even bigger depths to hide ANY kind of scandal that they can....just my opinion...

We've had 5 of these in the last month. Two less than 24-hours apart less than 2-miles apart.....ALL were drunk drivers with passengers that left the bar and got on the hwy headed the wrong way. 8-people killed...

Yes, (per the rules) in order for him to be considered a motorcycle he can't be fully enclosed or it's no longer considered a motorcycle but a stream liner... For safety and rules, the legs may not be enclosed in the bodywork... Bill is probably the quietest and most chill guy you could meet. He doesn't brag or say much but carries a BIG stick. I wish someone else would learn from him... You could, there is a class for everything....however, I don't think most of those cars would survive a full 1-mile or 1.5-mile run. They'd have to de-tune them and probably change a lot to survive that distance... The best part of this record is he's still got more room to turn it up. He mis-counted his shifts and ran 290mph in 5th gear (thinking he was in 6th)! There's always next time to click 6th gear......he's going for first motorcycle over 300MPH in 1-Mile!
