If you want to be cool and save $3 you can use the code DUCWEB16. Courtesy of cool bikes. Or I guess use that other lame code and save $4. I want to go but will probably be a more last minute decision. I would probably go Sat of any of the days due to the drive.
  2. I will wait and see what the facts actually turn out to be.
  3. Yup. I don't trust people to make decisions that benefit me when they make money from actions not always in alignment with my finances.
  4. Well said. For index funds it should be almost infinitesimal with how much work that actually takes. Typically international will run you more but that also makes sense. Bottom line is do your homework. I am also a proponent of combining 401k and Roth. Gives you more control over your taxes come retirement time.
  5. Expense fees will eat you alive if you aren't paying attention.
  6. Do you mean investing or gambling? Many people use the term investing to mean both of those things when they don't mean the same thing. I personally am pretty risk averse so I will be keeping my long term bets where they are. Medical could be a good buy, as we continue in a system that throws money at this segment and it continues to consolidate to oligopoly status. I think P&C insurers will continue to have poor results and with a potential La Nina coming we could have another really bad weather year for the East. Apple has recently taken a big hit. Might be worth keeping an eye on. There are no shortage of people in the world willing to overpay for their stuff. If a republican wins I could see that tax giveaway come to fruition and those billions Apple has come home. I still see most growth overseas. The US middle and lower classes just don't have the income to buy like the boomers did.
  7. Location of where she is learning so as to avoid it?
  8. Beyond annoying when they put manual transmission then in the comments list auto. Bloody teases.
  9. One thing that stands out and I think is part of the problem is a large number of the population is in poor third world countries where they are uneducated. Even those in Western Europe are not integrated and don't have a stake in their current country. Much higher rates of unemployment, segregation almost exacerbate the problem. I'm in no way saying that is an excuse but part of the cause. I believe that much of the reason that politicians etc try to disassociate the groups like ISIS and those that perform the terrorist acts is to not fan the flames that this is a war of the West against Islam. Because that view just leads to increased recruitment. I believe the key is education, and bringing them into the 21st century. Beyond that I have seen no proposed solution to the problem that has a chance.
  10. While it isn't there, being part of a militia is.
  11. I personally think all of the major religions should all be discontinued. However to this discussion, ISIS has created a very difficult situation for non-Muslim countries and peoples. They have recruited the most radicalized and are using them to wage the ground war for territory in the middle East. This in an atmosphere where Muslims are already regarded with disdain by many in non-Muslim countries due to the actions of a small percentage of ultra radicalized people. You pull off a few attacks as they have and you stoke that mistrust, fear and outright hate of Muslims in those non-Muslim countries. You see it with things like Donald, state governors etc. This leads to increased radicalization of people that otherwise may not have gone down that path because now they feel like they are being attacked. This is exactly what ISIS wants. They want the end of days war because that is the prophecy they believe. So the "Western" powers are stuck between a rock and a hard place. If they do nothing they will continue to occupy more territory in the middle east because we have weakened a number of those countries that would otherwise fight them. If we fight them as we have been, killing a bunch of civilians we risk the very real possibility of radicalizing portions of the population that live in the West. If we continue to be so hostile and hate filled we will have more and more attacks on our soil. So while Donald stokes this hatred and fear it really is just playing into their hands. One would think with his "great intelligence" he would see that. But he knows there is a significant portion of the US population that doesn't get it. And he plays right to what they want to hear. This leaves us in this terrible feeling position of having to overcome this fear and mistrust. It isn't easy and the chances of us actually accomplishing it are probably about 0.
  12. Well I have never seen it. As for the stereotype...there is always some truth to one. And by that I mean what do you a lot of time see when they show someone that was/is serious serious about guns. I grew up with them, using appropriate tools for hunting foul and fauna. I personally would say if you need a 15 round clip to hunt deer...you are doing it wrong. Very wrong. So, I am not against people owning them but owning the appropriate ones for the job. If you are into hunting humans and need that many rounds, join the military. You can't get a permit for that here. But this is way off the original topic of this particular law. To which I already commented.
  13. He isn't saying we should judge gun owners. At least I have never seen anything that says that.
  14. A right can still have restrictions on it for public safety. The courts have deemed this so. I'm not saying I agree with this law. Ultimately this will end up in court and we will see if it stands. I think really it stems from frustration on overall gun control reform that is needed. So, much like the ACA doesn't really fix the actual problem it makes it look like the politicians are doing something.
  15. Thank you for your correct observation.
  16. Allegedly there is a reason we have a no fly list. If you believe that list is populated with people that pose a greater threat to the public than your average Joe it makes sense to prevent them from purchasing firearms. If the no fly list is not legitimate then it would seem restricting them from purchasing firearms assuming they meet all other requirements is an over step. In my opinion this program is one of the overreaching reactions to the 9/11 attacks. It seems from what I have read that once you are on the list it is nigh impossible to remove oneself. That I feel is the more egregious offense. One should be able to file for a judicial review in a very timely manner. There are many programs such as this stemming from Bush policies following 9/11 that I would say violate any number of the rights of people.
  17. You can already be denied for other reasons. So there is already precedent.
  18. The 821 Hyper seems to have a lot more issues than the prior gen air cooled engines. Unsure how much that carries over to the Monster but I would think they are pretty close. An older air cooled Hyper is a blast in the curvy bits. Especially the 796 like I have. Light and flickable.
