I'm on the north edge of Gahanna if you need a hand. Hamilton & Morse Roads near Blendon woods and the new triple roundabouts. From what you're saying, I'm guessing my garage is better suited than yours.

More joke nerdity ahead: Rene Descartes walks into a bar... Bartender says, "Would you like a beer?" Descartes says, "I think not." and promptly ceases to exist!
-
Caution: the following joke is for complete nerds only! Q: What does the "B." in "Benoit B. Mandelbrot" stand for? A: "Benoit B. Mandelbrot"

I've always heard that after midnight 50% of the drivers on the road are impaired. That means, if you're sober, every other vehicle you encounter is not (50% right?). So your best bet is to be drunk so you'll know the other guy isn't!

Drained oil. After lunch I'll change filter and refill. Also planning to install new grips and tank pad.

Do you guys sell TechSpec snake skin? I'm pretty sure I need the generic, cut-it-yourself kit unless they recently started making pre-cut kits for an '01 Suzuki Bandit. Thanks!

Mine broke off on 270 at rush hour and I actually caught it with my left hand! It was fun downshifting and coming to a stop without being able to use the clutch. I now have a REAL GoPro and these accessories to keep it on the bike. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01E7V7WPS/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00XKS3OXE/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I went to a zoo the other day. The only animal they had was one small dog. It was a shih-tzu.

I'm pretty pleased with mine. It's definitely not a GoPro, but it's not $300 either. The waterproof case seems to be well made although I haven't tested it in rain yet. Some of the "16 fascinating accessories" are junk but there are enough brackets to make it work. BTW, I just checked on this again and clicked on the white one. It's available for $38 without a promo code. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0716ZKZVC/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?tag=slicinc-20&ascsubtag=efdb4b2455bd11e78478c24b30196ae70INT&ie=UTF8&smid=A1A8FD47CX6KBN&th=1

Ordered a Thesaurus from amazon and it just got here. I opened.the box and found all the pages are blank! I have no words to describe how angry I am...

Glad to know the real reason OR is here. At first it seemed like a bunch of 14 year old moderators and admins talking about each other's lack of sexual prowess, but then, once in a while, they say something that sounds like they know about motorcycles so I figure they must be 16 or 17 at least. Not sure about the guy who looks like that Korean dictator whackjob - they can probably ride at 14 where he's from. What really confuses me is the guys who only talk about serious moto-related topics. What are they doing here anyway? Something to do with the sock puppets, maybe?

GoPro knockoff for $26 Shows $43 but apply promo code AMSJ8CUZ at checkout for under $26 final price. I bought 3! Video examples look good and other specs are decent. Not sure how long this code will work... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0714FHXF2/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?tag=slicinc-20&ascsubtag=efdb4b2455bd11e78478c24b30196ae70INT&ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1A8FD47CX6KBN

Howard Leight Maxlite foam plugs. The most comfortable I've found. Sometimes I have to work in a noisy factory environment and I can wear these all day long. I get them at work, but I would buy them if I had to. These are NRR30. Howard Leight Maxlite at Amazon

Grab a flashlight and look up at the bottom of the unit. It's usually a red square plastic button. It's a thermal circuit breaker and it should click lightly and stay in when pressed.
-
Did you try pressing the reset button on the bottom? You could just remove it and put in plastic drain pipe unless you have a dishwasher - dishwashers usually drain to the disposal so the next run will chew up anything washed off the dishes. Home Depot has disposals from $90. More expensive models have more sound insulation, bigger motors, and sometimes all stainless steel internal parts. A new one should have everything you need in the kit except for plumber's putty. You might also need a miscellaneous piece of drain pipe or two - all plastic these days and can be tightened by hand.

You did not say how far behind the motor. I assumed since the smoke was still bothering you, it was not far enough back. My bad for assuming. I also gleaned from reading your post, that you had an oil reservoir and it's likely a dry sump, and your signature confirms it to be a '73 Honda. Now to answer your question, the Rabbis would need to know if the oil tank has it's own physical vent or if it's at atmosphere because it's vented through the trans and crankcase to the valve cover vent.
-
The trans and crankcase are the same pressure, but somewhere you still have to vent to atmosphere or you'll pressurize the inside of your motor. Normally, the vent is connected to the airbox so those fumes get sucked back in. I assume you've removed the box in favor of pod filters? Can you run the vent from the top of the valve cover to the back of the bike? An oil catch can will help if you're getting fluid out of your vent line.

Next time you're in Columbus. I'm just a few miles from Iron Pony.

I have all the same mods as you except my exhaust is Holeshot. I had gold valves until I swapped to the 'busa front end. Forks have Racetech springs and the rear is Eibach. I like the old-school analog gauges so when I went naked I grafted 1st gen Speed Triple headlights to the cut-down fairing stay. I don't ride so fast, rarely triple digits, but I use the Pilot Power 3s all the way to the edges. And I prefer to be in the wind - much less turbulent than the stock screen. Try it, you'll like it.
-
Yup, an '01. Bought it new and have been modding it since day 2. There's a photo here, in my intro. Your signature says you have one too, but all I ever see you post about is the Honda project.

Top triple or "yoke" as the Brit machinist calls it. To adapt shorter Hayabusa forks to my B12. Still needs holes for the ignition key switch and bar clamps.

Rode back home from the Post Office with a box under my new bungee net. Opened it up to find this!!! It'll probably be a week or two before I find time to install it... Stay tuned, I'll post pics when it's done.
