  1. GoPro knockoff for $26 Shows $43 but apply promo code AMSJ8CUZ at checkout for under $26 final price. I bought 3! Video examples look good and other specs are decent. Not sure how long this code will work... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0714FHXF2/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?tag=slicinc-20&ascsubtag=efdb4b2455bd11e78478c24b30196ae70INT&ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1A8FD47CX6KBN
  2. Howard Leight Maxlite foam plugs. The most comfortable I've found. Sometimes I have to work in a noisy factory environment and I can wear these all day long. I get them at work, but I would buy them if I had to. These are NRR30. Howard Leight Maxlite at Amazon
  3. Got my new custom machined top triple clamp installed today. I think it came out looking great!
  4. Here's a clearer photo that shows both ends of the adjuster. Larry Pegram at Mid-Ohio 2013.
  5. Grab a flashlight and look up at the bottom of the unit. It's usually a red square plastic button. It's a thermal circuit breaker and it should click lightly and stay in when pressed.
  6. Did you try pressing the reset button on the bottom? You could just remove it and put in plastic drain pipe unless you have a dishwasher - dishwashers usually drain to the disposal so the next run will chew up anything washed off the dishes. Home Depot has disposals from $90. More expensive models have more sound insulation, bigger motors, and sometimes all stainless steel internal parts. A new one should have everything you need in the kit except for plumber's putty. You might also need a miscellaneous piece of drain pipe or two - all plastic these days and can be tightened by hand.
  7. You did not say how far behind the motor. I assumed since the smoke was still bothering you, it was not far enough back. My bad for assuming. I also gleaned from reading your post, that you had an oil reservoir and it's likely a dry sump, and your signature confirms it to be a '73 Honda. Now to answer your question, the Rabbis would need to know if the oil tank has it's own physical vent or if it's at atmosphere because it's vented through the trans and crankcase to the valve cover vent.
  8. The trans and crankcase are the same pressure, but somewhere you still have to vent to atmosphere or you'll pressurize the inside of your motor. Normally, the vent is connected to the airbox so those fumes get sucked back in. I assume you've removed the box in favor of pod filters? Can you run the vent from the top of the valve cover to the back of the bike? An oil catch can will help if you're getting fluid out of your vent line.
  9. Next time you're in Columbus. I'm just a few miles from Iron Pony.
  10. I have all the same mods as you except my exhaust is Holeshot. I had gold valves until I swapped to the 'busa front end. Forks have Racetech springs and the rear is Eibach. I like the old-school analog gauges so when I went naked I grafted 1st gen Speed Triple headlights to the cut-down fairing stay. I don't ride so fast, rarely triple digits, but I use the Pilot Power 3s all the way to the edges. And I prefer to be in the wind - much less turbulent than the stock screen. Try it, you'll like it.
  11. Yup, an '01. Bought it new and have been modding it since day 2. There's a photo here, in my intro. Your signature says you have one too, but all I ever see you post about is the Honda project.
  12. Top triple or "yoke" as the Brit machinist calls it. To adapt shorter Hayabusa forks to my B12. Still needs holes for the ignition key switch and bar clamps.
  13. Rode back home from the Post Office with a box under my new bungee net. Opened it up to find this!!! It'll probably be a week or two before I find time to install it... Stay tuned, I'll post pics when it's done.
  14. Had to pull the metal hooks off and throw them away. Think I sprained my wrist twisting the pliers!
  15. Installed a brand new bungee net! Dunno why resizing the photo made the seat look shimmery.
  16. My favorite way to cook asparagus is to stir-fry it in sesame oil. Just long enough for it to get hot through but not soggy. If you want you can splash a little soy sauce on it at the end to give it an Asian twist. Serve with sesame seeds or pistachios on top. Steaming asparagus is nice too with butter and salt, or Hollandaise if you really want to get fancy and make a vegetable unhealthy!
  17. Rhinegeist in Cincinnati is producing 5000 cases of Truth and Bubbles today with this printed on the bottom.
  18. Most shops do not have a good selection of gear to try. From Cinci, the closest place with a decent selection is probably the place that took over the Competition Accessories in Springfield - I think it's called Ride 1 Powersports now. But the absolute BEST choice for shopping for anything motorcycle related is Iron Pony on the east side of Cols - you won't believe it until you see it.
  19. Hope yours works better than mine did.
  20. I would have suggested you adapt the existing pin until the experience I had two days ago! My Bandit needs a 24mm pin ('03 Hayabusa stem, triple, and forks) so I took the 13mm pin I had and put a stack of 12mm flat washers on it (24mm OD) and welded the ID of top one to the top of the pin. It fit the steering stem perfectly and I pulled the wheel and one fork to replace seals. While pulling the second fork, the pin cracked and folded just below the bottom washer. It didn't break all the way through or my bike would have fallen on the floor. If I had a fairing it would have gotten its nose cracked from the stand folding up. I was able to get a floor jack and the scissor jack from my wife's car under the frame rail on each side and get it back up so I could get the front stand out. I finished the forks and I was very happy to get the wheel back on and remove my hastily jury-rigged lift. Needless to say, I won't mess with a half assed pin again.
  21. Adjusted valve clearances on the old Bandit. Had planned to do new fork seals but a friend stopped by to change his fork seals on a 1st gen SV 650 and he needed a lot more help than I'd anticipated. Helping noobs is one way I try to give back to the sport.
  22. I understood it was this corner that didn't have sufficient runoff. Mid-O doesn't own the road to the east so they can't fix the problem.
  23. Made a seal driver from a PVC fitting to replace the weeping seal on my fork. I have the new seals, oil, and now the tools - just need the time to get the job done.
  24. $12 rebate on 5 quarts of M1 synthetic through May. https://mobiloil.com/en/promotion/mobil-promotions/up-to-15-dollars-off-with-mobil-1-and-mobil-super
