Smiling... In Columbus for soccer...drizzling rain and saw a guy braving the weather on a blue Suzuki sportbike... Know exactly the gingerly execution of corners and the twitchy starts from stoplites.. at least he's out riding....time for snowsuit!

Ha! And OOPs....today is Sunday....yesterday was Saturday! Soccer today, not riding.

Another Sunday, today...opened garage door...went for it. Cloudy here but bright skies down Kershocton way. SR60 to SR36 and onto Roscoe Village. Eat then SR16 to SR60, south again to Zanesville...back up 666, pavement really going away there...some patching along edge line...some whole sections redone...lors more to do....back out to SR60 at Dresden...west along SR16, the road into Frazeysburg....north on 586 all the way to Mt. Vernon and picked back streets to 229 and back roads across to SR36 and stop in Danville gas...headed home....in and out of drizzles...real lite....temp down to 49 at Danville....so headed to the 'house'

Saw a sign in Frazeyburg today....said,"Big Foot here"

The boys at work confirm this story....local bar had a costume contest. AND the winner is....drum roll please....mizz Avatar! Please step up and collect your prize young lady. Fashioned her costume...or rather her idea after the native residents on that planet.....the key word here would be "Native"....One guy said, she didn't have the body to pull it off.....well maybe, having seen the cell phone pics....but (no pun intended) I give her points (of uh, no pun meant again) as it was pretty brave to enter a costume contest when your costume was wearing a thong and a lot of blue body paint!!! Other fellas said the dance floor was a center of activity for other females booby flashing...and one mentioned leaving and while in the pkg lot...a full frontal nudity.....only draw back was a 300 lb. boyfriend keeping anyone from smudging paint.... Uhmmm, I clearing my calendar for New Year' s Eve for this bar...a low holiday like Holloween vs New Year's Eve...should definitely be worth the trip!!!! No I ain't telling where.

Posts elsewhere mentioning Danville. The popular meet spot is the BP...at the "Square", there again tonite for my ice cream...not on bike...cage. I noticed packages of Cindi's Fudge.... suspected Cindi that used to work there....prolee would still be working there except a coupla years back got hit head on by someone texting. Cindi was in a bad way....prolee has more steel in her than my bike. So she is making fudge and the gas station has it for sale. Sorry I just missed her...she made a delivery and left. Glenmont girl...SR520 to you riders....so bought some Cindi's fudge. Don' t know how good it is....wasn't my point in buying it. Do-gooder thang....when ya stop there for gas...ask about Cindi's fudge...ask about Cindi too....aching tonite they said...wet cold weather and I'd bet she's feeling it.

Cafe 505 closed up. Was pretty decent food. Big old house used ta be dentist's office and funeral home. Welcom all to area.....roads and food...my lot in life!

Great. It is a nice 'gas station' huh? I went past late afternoon. Only saw a coupla Harleys...beeped and roared by.

This afternoon....momma unit says she'll ride along....neighbor girl pulls up....so I chuckle as I follow along two pretty in pink cruiser girls. Left them at Danville...they return home and I top off on gas....talk with a couple filling up and now have more company and a guy from work pulls in as well, but he is heading home....the other two peel off a few miles later...and I ride up on two more.....and settle in behind. We eventually part ways and I go the remaining coupla blocks alone. Then this morning...left 3:30AM....and chanced upon that same semi from yesterday's morning ride. This time I went out and around. Just past Apple Valley on SR36...i'll hafta look at the back tire...hard braking and squalling sound...but no deer hit...good sized buck too. Nice ride...cool, but not so bad. Something dark laying in road...missed it....something dark in the road again.....hit it....this one felt hard. So will look at front tire now too. Home and heat from muffler felt good. Oh I did strafe Spearman's at Millwood that afternoon...only saw 2 Harleys...no Squarehead beemer. So the deer out numbered the days I rode this week. Afternoon was good riding...saw lotsa folks out. The early AM runs back home not so much fun, but still smiled.

Continuing diary....trip home this AM alot cooler than I expected. Pulled up in Danville and dug out more layers from backpack. Fortune smiled on me....an oil gathering semi-tanker pulls up and heads east on 62. Cool!! You all say Wha?. Yep...i ran along behind him....wind break and more importantly..deer crusher. He flushed out 3 and made my predawn ride less eventful.

Ooo, prolee too late to tell ya to check out the waterfall by Millwood. Reason to return then?

Just re-read...sqhead...Gambier....the aforementionedway deli, a lil' restaurant up street.... a house with bar,think it has the fence in front, then the fancy smancy Gambier Inn....expensive and bland. Also right on corner, white andbarns red building...coffee house? not sure...haven't checked it out. Then back behind bookstore alley is a place...used to be Pirates Cove....school bought it and Pirates Cove moved to Mt.Vernon...itz by We Luv Pets...China Buffet. Chinese place is a buffet....and as is the way with chinese buffets....your 3rd trip up brings out the check....pretty good eating and lotsa choices.

More blogs....rain soaked mornings.....but it was warm. So far this week...braved the chip and sealed Howard to Danville Rd. Watched with interest the lil' stones coming up from the front tire in the headlite...akso hearing the tic tic of them wee stones...along with the patter of drops on the helmet. Creature count...two lil' possums, that elected to dart back into dark than try to cross. One carcass of something hit....missed the racoon up the road a bit later....and Amity Rd. had three deer admiring the SV from a bank.....musta been the music of the pipes. Found that I need new boots....mine are letting water in .... ever so slightly. Today looks absolutely great! On my crusade to be out everyday this week AND looks like I'm not the only one!

Yep...all of the above....Millwood, Spearman's is hard to beat. Meal prices have increased...no more $6.95 full meals.....$7.95 now (some are more). The Hangout in Danville has great burgers. Lil' pizzaria type place just up street...cheap breakfast. Ice cream (Velvet) at Danville BP...lil' case with sammiches....Peggy Sue's west on SR229 from USR62...in Newcastle. AND....20 miles more up SR514 to Nashville and west on 39 then north on 179 to intersection of SR3 & 179....gives you the Iron Pony Saloon. The boys are bugging me for a ride there again. Make several trips.... Enjoy. Oh yeah...and Apple Valley has a nice lil' place in front of main entrance.

Coulda been. Folks gotta watch 514 north towards 520 as any really spirited riding could make ya airborn....okay except for road veering away....at least heading south the road is sorta straight beyond crest. 520 does collect bikes.....Harley guy at work will not ride it! Then ya got farmers dragging mud and manure....especially in that really neat drop and sharp turn....ya know like heading east and your head could be hanging ovr the guardrail!?! Y'all BE Careful. Blitz...didja see that?

Guess ya gotta hang around in Kershocton. Ha! Travel backroads...gotz a dual purpose bike? Maybe they like frozen custard....leave a bowl of Whit's out on a rock

Friday....after nap....i'd be coming thru Danviille 3:45AM or maybe 5:20AM. Yell for time in daylight....be nice to see roads in lite of day....tired of using my imagination as to what lies beyond the beam of lite in front of me. Smiling. Smiling a whole lot!

Local Bargain Hunter (paper) has an article in it...bigfoot last sighted off of SR83 in April 97....it tracked Marc DeWerth. Mark reported that he found a den and looked in....and then realized he was not alone....someone or something was following him. He was in woods a mile and a half from his car and unarmed....his thoughts ran from black bear, panther/cougar rumored to be in area. Or maybe he got too close to America's 'other' cash crop....either way something was following him. He crouched in some underbrush and his pursuer passed above him.....then he saw the hairy walking upright "bigfoot". Sometime ago...there was a plaster cast taken of the footprint found near Warsaw. Makes leaf watching more exciting, eh?
