  1. Poking around on the back roads here in Amish country I noticed a few "Historical" markers - Ohio's first sate road. Looks like it runs from Millersburg to Port Washington (US36) using predominately county roads. Beemer boys are interested in ferretting out the route-we'll follow the signs. Not sure if gravel roads will be there-we'll detour around...you adventure bikes can have at it. No date set as yet....anyone here interested sing out and we'll close on the date. Some points of interest will be the scenic ridges and Baltic (Hoo-Hah!). I think it uses 651 and 93 -both very nice roads on there on. So looks like, Holmes, Kerschocton and Tusc Counties for route.
  2. Y'all want I can peek at the SR60 thang for ya!? PM me and I will. So how many critters do ya think can be added to the BBQ list? Psst, they have paved sections of USR62 and the chip and seal on SR520 is covered with new pave as well. I will go chck on CR19 (the other side), the other day there was paving equipment there. They may be addressing the rougher section on the road (between Layland and Spring Mtn.). AND the CR20 has new pavement (from SR206 towards CR19). SR206 sucked last nite, gravel and dirt everywhere. Lemme know on pre-vis SR60 is a walk from my place!

Thanks, it's a hoot out here in the woods! Oh, Oh, Talked with a guy yesterday-Spring Mtn area and he bought a Katana. Thought it prudent to mention the curse and Coshocton...so I offered him a few bucks to take the bike off his hands before he hurtz himself!
  6. LOL -Bologna and local cheese - hot or cold? Trail, Ohio try-Walnut Creek overlook for the valley and yepsir ride would be nice. When y'all heading out?

Two piece set-bought for track day and wore them twice after that, too many french fries and they don't fit no more, even though they are size 56 (Euro). Anyone near Holmes County? $425, great condition. Pics later. Or find Fonzie's Pitt Stop-you'll see them in the pics there. Ha!

Mine did the lil' whirly-gig helicopter tail. Suppose it was trying to lift the rest of lil' self off the pavement? Wife got a snake just after my chipmunk. She didn't see it, or she'd problee be grossed out. It writhed a bit, I mean the part that wasn't flat and stuck to the pavement! Coulda been worse though, I mean like, getting hooked in the chain and whipping yer leg as it rotated around the sproket, eh?
  11. SR520 Holmsie Co. got some chip and seal'd in spots ARRRGGHH. Coknockon CR323, somebody done put down oil or hydraulic fluid (at top of hill in the sharp righthander if you are going uphill. Just lil' dabs at top of banking so it'll flow downhill thru the turn. Thanks.

So far this season, road kill is one bird, one squirrel and a rabbit. Should we carry a plastic bag to save them for the BBQ? Close calls don't count-mus' be squished! Squirrel almost made it, changed his mind and darted back!
  16. I was gonna warn ya about GA., but too late-ya left and ....just be safe. The speakers down at the side would sorta be like crash bars, right/
  17. Thanks for the meet and greet-nice ride, 'cept for the off. Stood there with Dave (BMW) and he commented about the parts in the ditch by us and wondered how they flew so far? I told him...wrong color, someone else did that. Mike (C14) and I went back home on the rest of the unused route. Peeled off at USR62 instead of going to Millersburg. I see everyone made it home okie dokie...WE got the girl that they had called in for a waitress, she did fine. We just waited until she got into work before we could order. I was done eating and noticed some folks were only just getting their viddles. Kawi -okay, I folded up the walker and made it to the outing. Where are you hiding these days? Trackday(s), Saturday, April 24, 25 with KTM days 26th and 27th. So mark it in yer planner. The Garver and Will will be there Saturday. Will has the former Garver R6 together. Monday I'll be there with the C14 rider (Mike). Back to CSB ride, nice day, even with the weather and enjoyed. Some asked and I said, "Brought the little bike so I'd behave!" Good group and excellent turnout - nice job pack leaders. Liked the mid-group checks too. I ended up at back just to pretend I was a sweep.
  18. Just in from pre-run and as above. Great up to Licking Co./Coshocton Co. Line, the Coshocton folks use that black gravel for the berm repairs....you can see it...SO, if it's black (ahead on berms)...Don't attack!
  19. If I don't catch you on the road, I can meet at luncheon spot! Right now I'm two doors down from yer lunchie location. I'm figuring you folks for the SR intersections at 11AM. I will back track route until I see y'all motoring. May have some new folks along (or not) we'll see. Back, and Albums, have pics posted re: SR60 new and old...same road/same deal. Scavenger hunt-find the rock?
  20. Maybe I can hook up with you folks around here....gravel is bad on SR60s from USR62 (Killbuck to Warsaw) as I was on it last nite. If no one is doing MOTO GP you'll be okay...it's gravel in all the interesting corners on that stretch!
  21. Just came back from lunch, mentioned it to Bill re: NOTHING definite, but some folks may be headed this way....He says, mention my name, and said discount on meals and will put ya into a room! Just don't remind him about the Sweeney Todd theater incident and the meat pie being served, I still think it's funny. Two ADV riders in hotel some where too, saw the bikes out front. Dunno, as I didn't see them (yet). AND...there's Kawi Kids',"Yard", in Coshocton as well (on main street) lotsa room for seating - Maybe I'll write a book on places to eat...and I thought all that time was wasted on the survey crew!
  22. Knock, knock....Big Speazy says group there is a group to Millersburg Hotel that Saturday....this you guys or another OR bunch? If ya are going to Co-Knockton, Warehouse is new owner and different chef...happened last year. Either way....I can meet folks at Roscoe, or ... If youse is the bunch coming to Millersburg....for the Hotel eats, they have separate meeting rooms....call owner Bill @ (330) 674-1457, and see whot doing. Village Admin, is Kevin Brooks...put some cones down and have a bike only parking? Y'all lemme know what's doin'. K? Oh yeah SR60 south of Killbuck to Warsaw, has had the state crews out so you have that black grit/gravel down in all the really neat turns! SR 83 was okay, and you can expect paving operations to commence soon, USR62, SR 93, SR 514 (north side of Nashville) and SR520 from USR62 to Glenmont. I'd be the red bird that doesn't have the goldwing speakers and such on it! Hi Mags, How's yer winter been?
  23. Rock slide info and blurb from down that'a way: KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- It will cost Tennessee about $2 million to remove a rock slide from U.S. 129 and stabilize the mountainside. The Tennessee Department of Transportation let an emergency contract for $1.99 million to Pacific Blasting Demolition Ltd. on Monday, but the contract has incentives for completing the work earlier than the July 31 deadline. The highway -- known to motorcyclists as the Dragon -- is closed from near Chilowee Lake in the Tennessee Smoky Mountains foothills to the North Carolina state line. TDOT said Tuesday it is still working to reopen portions of the road. Travel between Tennessee and North Carolina has become complicated with slides also closing Interstate 40 near the state line and U.S. 64 in the Ocoee River Gorge. Travel is also hampered by a smaller rock slide on Monday on U.S. 441 in the Smokies. Newfound Gap Road reopened Tuesday morning, with a detour through a parking area adjacent to the slide. The speed limit there is 15 miles per hour. The detour will remain in place as park officials monitor the slope's activity to determine its stability.
  24. west of Berlin and east of Mlbg. Curious, I stopped there yesterday....they have motorcycle batteries in stock! Huh? So if y'all are riding and encounter probs....$25 to $60 bucks. "You chust need the number of the battree". Life is good - Oh, they sell (and rent trailers) in case ya really break down.
