  1. Totally forgot about the WRX. I've never been a Subie fan but it does check off the boxes and is affordable.
  2. Never even heard of this car. This is exactly the point of this thread. Why did you get rid of it?
  3. I'm looking for a vehicle that is AWD and somewhat moddable and family friendly; I feel like I keep looking for the same vehicles over and over. Is there something I'm missing? $35k limit I keep coming back to German cars: Audi - S whatever BMW - 6 series / Alpina MB - AMG whatever Porsche - Panamera/Cayenne/Macan The Genesis G70 is intriguing but no used ones close.
  4. Just curious if anyone was laid off when Covid hit, then went back to work only to be let go again. If so, has that affected your benefits from the government? I was laid off in April and I recently got an offer for work but its only for 6-8 week project. I really want to go back to work but I don't want to endanger future assistance for such a short gig; 6 weeks of work versus a possible 5+ months without additional assistance is a tough choice. Anyone have experience with this?
  5. I had a '99 Gen2 back in the day and they are much nicer than the Gen1 Vipers all around. They ride better, the dash isn't cheap plastic, they have a/c etc. If you are looking at a Gen2 get an 01+ as they have ABS. Mine did not and I forgot about that in a crisis. No more Viper.
  6. From trolling the SYTY forums years ago tempted to buy one, the general consensus was these spend more time in garage because they are down, rather than running.

    QSL tonight..

Just an FYI, 730 Friday night, we just got done eating here and the parking lot is actually packed with cars and trucks.
  8. More like pepper spray and tear gas. On a side note there is a local kid from Upper Arlington (suburb of Columbus) who is sort of a tame version of Steve Irwin. He has his own show called Brave Wilderness, but he addresses the whole 'murder hornet' craze and has been doing the sting pain indexes. Nevertheless, he is mildly interesting in his videos.
  9. We picked up a 2012 Escalade last year, its very low miles and absolutely pristine, and it was in the $30's still. Kinda crazy how these hold their value. Need to do a Blackbear tune and some LT headers.
  10. Pretty sure those Kickers are listed @3ohm, stock is prolly 8ohm, we don't know what his HU does. I agree 45w will be just as loud @3 and @8 ohms but sound quality and clipping will come into play. Oh well, enjoy the new speakers, just don't crank em till they sound like shit...hopefully you aren't one of those people. My friends brother honestly says it sounds better to hear the speakers bottom out.
  11. Turned out to be the fan motor, replace it today and the AC works properly. Thanks for the help. BTW if you need parts for appliances RepairClinic out of Michigan has been great. Ive gotten everything next day using their standard shipping.
  12. Replaced the cap and have the same issue...compressor kicks on then shuts off, fan not spinning.
  13. PM STEVE-O Already had his guy out for an estimate.
  14. I may have had a breakthru tonight! My wife who gets all of her secondhand news thru her Mother that is a Trump supporter and Rush fan girl said to me: "I knew someone (who knew someone) who died in 9/11, yet I dont know anyone who has/or died from Corona" I told her thats a fallacy of an argument, and of course she yells foul. I tell her I know 10+ people who have committed suicide, she knows none. How does that logic stand? "Maybe I need to start thinking for myself"
  15. We need our front door replaced and having a hard time getting reliable people out to just give an estimate, even the big-box stores. The father-in-law does most of our work but he doesn't want to do this. Its a Left hand inswing with a 14" sidelight. Does anyone have a lead or has done this before? We've laid new floor and are looking to have it done ASAP so we can finsih the entryway.
  16. The trick is to set up unemployment before you are unemployed it takes a few weeks for it to be approved even if there are no mistakes. I've had no issues thus far, even received the retroactive bonus already.
  17. IMHO those are way more than what you need and while they will sound 'better' they will be pretty weak. Those are meant to be driven by an amp, unless you plan on putting a crossover in and amping them your H/U will not be able to give them enough juice. They are advertising 150w RMS, I'd venture your H/U maybe can push 45w and only for a short amount of time. I'd say look for some in that range, maybe 50w RMS. As stated above I usually grab some cheap Pioneer, etc. in all my cars just to give a bit better sound when I replace the H/U.
  18. Whats everyones level of quarantine, are you wearing PPE or inflatable dinosaur costumes? The wife is a teacher so she's obviously home, I got laid off due to the virus. The only time we go into public its the grocery store or Lowes(waited 45min on Sunday), etc to get a couple things since we started a renovation before this happened. That only happens once a week. Her parents are over becuase her Dad is doing all the reno, he's retired. My parents stopped by just this week, but they are the same as us, just out for supplies once a week and Mom is retired; and there's no hugs or anything, everyone keeps their distance. We've had a couple "Zoom" drinking parties with friends but I would not be against hanging out at the firepit or on the patio with a couple close friends/neighbors. Whats everyones expectation of lifting the quarantine? All I keep hearing from friends/family is that in X months it will be back to normal. I hate to burst your bubble, there is not a normal anymore; the world is foerever changed.
  19. So much disappoint in the TourX. It looked so cool before they released it, like a new GNX wagon. But then again the new Turbo Regal was much disappoint too. Maybe we'll get some snow this May? It is Ohio.
  20. I bet 10-1 that once this is 'under control' that Trump will make a statement patting himself on the back for the "perfect" job he's done, and other countries have called him and agreed. (There will also be a mention of a perfect phone call).
  21. Ok. Gonna pull the cover and check the capacitor. I was hoping it wasnt a leak and I'm low on refrigerant, the fan wasnt turning on because the compressor was shutting down.
  22. With the weather warming up the past couple days we kicked the AC on, but it doesn't seem to be functioning properly. After doing some nosing around/troubleshooting: The heatpump/compressor and inside evap are newer, maybe 4yrs? The filters are clean/replaced Sprayed the heatpump down with the hose to clean out debris The fan is not running in the heat pump, the compressor will kick on for 20sec, the return pipe will get super cold then it will shut off and go back to ambient temp. This cycle continues. I can spin the fan freely with a stick but couldn't get it to spin on its own power. I'm not totally positive how these units are supposed to function, it's just a typical Lennox pump. Is the fan always supposed to run in cooling mode?
  23. COVID-19 is a coronavirus cousin to SARS. When that outbreak happened in 2003 the hardest population hit was mainland China. If you look at photos from 2003-2020 you'll notice the urban explosion/crowding that has happened, so there's no wonder the epedemic is spreading so fast and the initial numbers are quite a bit higher than the SARS attack. I agree, its not going to be contained, but we're also not turning into night-walking zombies.
  24. I'm doing a complete reno to my kitchen/upstairs. What are you guys doing with the trash/byproducts? I pay Columbus taxes...is there some kind of dump or pickup that I can use? The garage is holding all the trash for now.
  25. The starter works from the relay and now the ignition. Which is what puzzeled me because it didn't work from the ignition until I put the bypass on the relay and now it does. I just double checked from the relay and the engine does torque when then starter gets power...so the bendix seems to be engaging.
