  1. What the manual says and what is safe on the road at speed are 2 different things. You're talking about doubling the weight of your vehicle at 3500# you would also need to add a brake box to your list if needed components. You could probably be alright with a small teardrop camper or a jetski....but I wouldn't buy horses anytime soon.
  2. If you have that kind of money, then yes, they should be driven. I totally admire Jay Leno and Seinfeld, they take their cars out all the time...but they also have ridiculous bank accounts. I'd be more curious to know if the people just don't want mileage on the car or they are terrified of what might happen to it on public roads.
  3. I'll be out in the truck. Might not go tonight, just depends on the weather, tomorrow looks absolutely incredible, maybe even sweatshirts at night. The hotspots are QSL, Crosswoods and Crowne for anyone who is oldschool and used to frequent 161. We spend a majority of the time at QSL...past couple years the cops have been very cool...
  4. Welp, got my OBD reader, nice little device...the outcome is not good. P0720 - means there is an issue with the output speed sensor circuit. It could possibly just be the sensor went bad, I think the torque converter took a crap. Suggestions on a beater?!
  5. My SES (check engine) light came on yesterday so I parked it for now. I just ordered a OBD scan tool from Amazon to see if I can pull codes...get an idea if its catastrophic or something stupid.
  6. Wifes car is a Kia Sportage. She loves the little thing because its a 6spd. Other than this we've had no other issues.
  7. The preamble: I get a call from my wife driving on the highway..."my little guage is at H, is that bad?" *sigh* Pop goes the head gasket. So my wifes car is down for at least a gasket, hopefully no more damage, and as luck would have it, my beater X5 is exhibiting transmission failure...gotta love it. Now I've got some choices to make and decision is one of my weakest assets. The silver lining of all this is that I have a 3rd vehicle...my truck(blown SRT Ram)...my baby...so we technically still have 'transportation'. The options I'm contemplating: 1. Throwing money into the X5...I think it's electrical, it goes into reverse and into all the gears but is constantly on 'limp' mode. Alternator tested fine and just threw in a new battery. It could be solenoids, a harness, just a transmission flush. But when do you stop? In the end its got 170k miles and a rebuilt transmission would be the safe bet, but it would also cost the value of the car. Doesn't make much sense. We're already fixing her car. 2. Park/trash the X5...buy another beater and go along my way. I really do love my truck, but sometimes I miss having a zippy little sports car. 3. Sell the truck, trash the X5....buy something nice. I think the truck can bring 25-27k all day long...take a small loan and get maybe a newer S4 or a 996, something fun. The problem is, I haven't had just one car since High School, I've always had a toy. 4. Be responsible, sell the vehicles, buy a cheap commuter and pocket the rest? Hypothetical 5. Just dd the truck...this is not the part of the country you want to drive that daily. WWCRD?
  8. Why don't you guys hit up some of the local trucks...Java Brava, Raccoon Coffee, etc and see if they'd be interested in some exposure and monies, I'm sure they don't do much on a Saturday morning, might be worth their while. Could change it CC&Ct (coffee trucks).
  9. I've seen 2010/11 Panamera Turbos in the 40k range...they seem to get rave reviews from any magazine or show that covers them. Chip it and forget it.
  10. How has ownership been? These have recently come up on my radar, they can be had for crazy reasonable prices anymore, seems like a lot of car for the money and fairly stout as well. I know fuel economy is terrible in the V10, but it wouldn't be a daily, just a weekend family toy....maybe stuff a baby seat in the back and mount a ski rack
  11. That 250 straight six would be a lot better if were a run-away diesel....especially in that truck. If that truck was rolling coal and doing a wheelie would be epic.
  12. Weight wut? I have a truck with a BIG motor (505) and I average 15mpg...isn't this a turbo 4-banger...guess it is WOT all day er'y day.
  13. I enjoy our lazy postal worker....why get out of your truck to throw it on the porch when you can just stuff the package into the plastic mailbox so hard that it breaks it.
  14. The Hyundai has me confused....why is the emblem the only thing that's centered in that engine bay?
  15. +1. Looks like a couple of those may be running on rent-2-own tires....
  16. I have a 7990...which is an older flagship dual GPU card.
  17. I'm talking in NVIDIA Surround or whatever its called. In Radeon Eyefinity I can run a 6400x1080 resolution all on native res without scaling with bezel correction and all that jazz...can NVIDIA do that now?
  18. I have 3 monitors...27" 1920 - 34" 2560 - 27" 1920...last time I checked only Radeon supports mixed res, NVDIA requires 3 1920's etc.
  19. Sadly, this. Except for video card...until NVIDIA gets there shit together and supports multiple resolutions. From the benchmarks I've looked at, the i5s and i7s are equal if not better than the Ryzen, at the same price or cheaper. Wait until their not so new.
  20. They are also updating their pricing and charging more, mine went up $25/mo. because they no longer offer the TW 30MB internet. Looks like I'm switching providers.
  21. Have some new gear coming and part of the setup is an NVME M.2 SSD thats got around a 2500MB/s transfer speed, that should up my gaming experience. The issue is I have multiple drives right now, a boot SSD, game SSD, storage drive, etc. I'd like to move Windows and my games onto the new M.2 with minimal issues...will clone software do this? Could you recommend a product? At the very least I'll just move the games over.
  22. German Village and Italian Village would probably be a van in the street for that kind of money...not sure about the other areas.
  23. No, not a wide profile board. Bump for new pricing. 200 for board/bindings. 50 for boots. 225 takes the lot.
