  1. One of my rollover accounts is up 5.14% for the year, the other (basically a Bob Brinker type of fund) is up 8.59%! Not bad for one month...
  2. Full time job, family, and higher priorities. My wife's a stay at home mom with my two kids, ages 2 and 10 months. The thought doesn't even cross my mind that I'm going to go hang out in a parking lot or whatever after she's been with them for 9+ hours each day. I used to come out Friday and Saturday nights; 10 years ago. Then things change, your life goes in different directions, and cars just aren't a priority for me anymore. I also lost 80+ pounds a few years ago. The time I used to put into my cars is now spent at the gym and staying in shape. Again, priorities...
  3. Basically they are trying to recreate what the newest Batman series did and how popular that has been...
  4. Sorry for laughing, but that's funny as hell. Best first game ever! Seriously, they should give you a pass for that since it was your first game...
  5. I have been to college in years and those were both hilarious and relevant to me...
  6. Read this. Hits a lot of my points. It's almost like I was a beat writer for the Jackets or something...
  7. I hit on all cylinders on hockey all the time. That's what happens when you know a lot about the game, you play it, you coach it, etc. The best part is: The Jackets aren't even my team. The Rangers are...
  8. It's not that I don't like Rick Nash, I love his skill and what he can do behind other players. But it's seriously time to shake up this team in a major way. Nothing will show that more than trading the biggest asset. I really don't think it could happen, because I don't think they'd pull the trigger, but I'd love some sort of deal with Anaheim. Where the Jackets could land one of their top line guys, along with Visnovsky or Fowler, and a top pick. That would shake things up. The other thing I want to point out is that the Jackets have never had a lot of knowledgeable hockey minds in the correct positions. Getting Craig Patrick was huge, that's a big start. But getting more guys like that and changing the mindset of this organization is going to be top priority.
  9. Here's the deal with Rick Nash: Nash is a top tier player, without a doubt. But what he's not good at, is putting the team on his back and carrying them. This is why Rick Nash will never be a super stud here in Columbus. This is also why he excels in world tournaments like the World Championships and the Olympics. Because he's not "The Guy" they look to. They put him on a line with Iginla and Crosby and he tears it up, because those guys are that type of player. Rick Nash would be best suited to be traded to Pittsburgh or some other team where there is a superstar in front of him. That being said, why would he want to leave Columbus? There's no accountability here. You don't get recognized. So unless you're just dying to win the Cup, why not just stick it out here making $7M a year for a losing team. Don't get me wrong, I think Rick Nash is a great player, so talented. But he needs to be stripped of the "C" and in my opinion, traded while his value is high. There's something wrong in the locker room, the rink, etc. Has been for years. Coaching changes, player changes, etc.; doesn't seem to matter. Until the owners figure out WTF is wrong with this team, nothing will change. Oh, and Howson and Priest need to go. You can't hang your excuses on "We had some injuries and suspensions and that killed us early on." Shit like that happens to all teams. And the good teams figure out a way to get past it. Look at the Penguins, for example. Missing major players for long stretches and they are still a top team. My suggestions: 1. Fire Howson and Priest. Promote Craig Patrick to GM. 2. Trade Nash, Brassard, Vermette, and the obvious upcoming UFA's. 3. Mason on waivers as soon as we get another acceptable goalie here this season, if that ever happens. If someone claims him, great. If not, send his ass to the AHL. 4. Fail for Nail. Keep failing this season, get that #1 overall pick, Nail Yakupov. 5. While you're at it, fail next year too. Because the #1 overall next year is going to be even better, Nathan Mackinnon.
  10. Very little in my family. Both grandfather's died at 73 (within 3 weeks of each other, no less), but it was because of shitty living. One was a big drinker, the other a big eater. Both my grandmothers are still alive, into their 80's, and both my great grandmothers lived into their 90's. As for me and my wife, no problems. Same with my kids. Clean living, people: Don't drink much, no drugs, work out, and eat right...
  11. I heard once (probably a myth and I'm too lazy to look it up) that there is enough food in the U.S. at any one time (canned, whatever) to feed us for 30 days...
  12. Hey, slow the fuck down, by the way...
  13. My job would also be in jeopardy, if there was no internet. Unless I'm going back to developing desktop applications...
  14. I personally would have no problems giving up my cell phone, but I'd miss the internet for sure. The internet has pretty much replaced TV for me...

I guess I'm part of that group. Where was there a Hoggy's in Powell?
  18. Funny, if you order egg yolk sauce with steak, they look at you funny and you have to get it on the side. I guess that's just a horrible combination for them and they don't get why you'd want it. I always get the chicken and have them add it...
  19. My personal opinion on Benihana: It's a chain, so you're just getting that "chain" feel. I went there once and was really disappointed. I got less food than House Of Japan, but was charged more money. Fuck that. I'll never go back.
  20. No love for the egg yolk sauce in here, I see...
  21. Love that shit. Except I'm not fat anymore...
  22. If this is the same as the one at Polaris, then I agree. Egg Yolk Sauce > *...
  23. No problem with gift cards here...
  24. Dude, you look awesome! Great job! I've managed to keep my weight off since 2008. Maybe I've covered it earlier in the thread, maybe not, but I dropped 65 pounds between April and September of 2008. Some major crap with work kept me from the gym in later 2009 through March of 2010, so I put back on about 15 pounds. Then that March through August 2010 I dropped 30+. I've manged to stay at that weight since. So adding it all up, that's 80+ total. The gym 3-4 days a week, ice hockey 1-2 times, and watching what I'm eating (mostly during the week, the weekends I let loose a bit) has kept me at a good fitness level. The best thing is, that my routine and life style is just a part of what I do now. It's not a "diet" or the like. It's just how I live my life to stay in the shape I'm in. Me a few months ago with my grandmother: http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/309721_2370263985590_1520200359_2550214_502976537_n.jpg
