  1. No luck on the cycle of the key. Still doing it. He's gonna test fuel pressure next, unless you can think of anything else...
  2. I just did my whole upstairs in new laminate...
  3. OK, he said that the first time he starts it, it just cranks and cranks and won't start. So he'll stop, wait a second, and then crank it and it fires right up.
  4. Good question. I'll ask him and find out...
  5. This is actually for my brother who lives in Denver: My '98 Regal is acting just a little strange. When I turn the key the first time the car doesn't start, however on the second turn the car did start. So with that I was thinking the following things: 1. I hadn't ever replaced the fuel filter so it might be clogged. 2. Could it be the starter and the solenoid that's not making the right connection until it turns over in the right way? 3. Fuel Pump? Well I did #1 first since that was fairly easy, however the car is doing the same. Any thoughts on what I should replace next?
  6. Yeah, that was the one I was thinking of. Didn't know 94.7 switched over already. Just too early. After Thanksgiving is fine, anything before annoys the shit out of me...
  7. I believe one Columbus radio station had switched over on November 2nd or very close to that...
  8. It is, but this was not my car he saw...
  9. Well, it was a bad bearing from the start. For some reason the ABS was coming on, etc. Have to send it back and get another one. Fuck me...
  10. Still waiting to hear back, should know today...
  11. That is correct, I didn't go faster than idle because of the rubbing / clunking / whatever.
  12. Went to four different ones, don't have to use it today, they expire on 11/30/09...
  13. Score! I snagged four $10 coupons today at lunch...
  14. I too, loved my Active Duty time. Made friends for life, made me who I am today. Happy Vets Day to my fellow vets!
  15. Where is this ring? Is it a part of the hub? I'll update this thread as I get more details...
  16. Other than the normal worn out wheel bearing noise, no. So I gave up and had my mechanic I use occasionally take a look at it and he seems to think the ABS is screwed up somehow...
  17. Thanks. I think Roosters is the best one though. It looks like all you have to do is show your ID and they give you the $10 card...
  18. I got lucky, kind of. When I was Active Duty, I lost my ID, had another one printed. Then I found my first ID (you know, the one they take when you are in Basic and have no hair). So now I have two legit ones. So when I separated, I turned in the older one and kept the newer one. Granted, it's been expired for like 9+ years now, but I still use it to get out of traffic tickets and now, free food. But you are correct; if you are a Veteran that did not retire or are active duty, you really shouldn't even have an ID.
  19. Details here! My favorite place for wings, glad I get a free $10 card to spend there! Just show up on Veteran's Day with your ID!
  20. I started doing this just a few years ago, mowing the shit out of them. I have a couple of large, older maples on my property and got sick of raking them all up and having like 15 leaf bags to haul out to the road. So now, I wait until they all drop, then beat them up with my mower...

    Columbus Racing?

This right here for me. I'm one of the founding members of this site. And it was almost 9 years ago now that COFBA started and we started hanging out with what became Columbus Racing. I was in my early 20's and had the time to devote to it. Now, not so much. I've got family stuff, gym time (I lost 70+ pounds last year and plan on keeping it off), ice hockey, and I'm also a high school ice hockey coach. I still enjoy my cars, but I have other things that come first now. A lot of you younger guys will have the same thing happen to you. It's coming...
  22. I'll check it out, but it sounded worse than something just rubbing like that. I thought maybe I didn't have the axle meshed in right or something stupid, but no. I'll check it out tomorrow...
  23. I replaced my left front hub yesterday on my '05 Mountaineer. I get it all back together, take it for a test drive and something's not right. Something is rubbing or clunking and just not right. I noticed it first when I turned the wheel to pull out of my driveway. The vehicle even seems to lurch at times. I didn't go any faster than idle down my street, turned around and pulled back into my driveway and put it up on jackstands. I can't figure it out. Everything is tight. I pulled the calipers off, the rotor, the hub, and put it all back on again. Tightened everything yet one more time, nothing is rubbing when I turn the wheel when it's up in the air. It seems fine. Also, it seems fine when the vehicle is in reverse, I hear no noise then. So I take it back out after re-doing everything today and it's still making noise. I bought these hubs per a thread on Explorer Forums. I double checked the box, it's the correct hub. Any ideas?
  24. Well I wouldn't have those problems, I've had two tickets my whole life and they were 10 years apart...
