  1. I've changed very little. I guess I've been lucky. I'm still very marketable as a senior level software engineer. I'm full time with Abbott now and they are somewhat recession proof. People are still having kids and buying formula, the EAS stuff seems to do really well, and the medical devices area (where I work) still sells a lot. I got a decent raise this past year and should be promoted and get another raise later this year. As far as debt, well I'm just a few months from being 100% debt free, outside of my house. All the cars and other toys are nearly paid for. Plus I'm still maxing out my 401K, even though it's tanking like everyone else's. But it will be back. I've still got a few years until I retire (I'm hoping about 25 or so). So yeah, I've had it easier than most on the board, I'd say.

    Hi

    Fuck you, Howard.
  3. That's the main reason I don't drive the Cobra in any wet weather. 550+ HP was made for drive pavement. However, I drive the '86 in the rain all the time. I don't think I've ever lost the ass end of that car in the wet. Not that it couldn't, of course. Decent torque, 3.73 gears, and skinny tires. I'm just very careful with it...
  4. Don't worry, I was thinking the same thing...
  5. Sure I've done it. Did it at like 19, then again at 22, LOL. Then worked on Air Force career / school until I started making a decent wage and had a real job. I've wondered for years how people can sink money into their car when they haven't really locked their career down. That being said, good for you for stepping up to the plate. We'll see you on the other side...
  6. Negative, no selling of cars will occur...
  7. My wife will kill you for that comment...
  8. Negative. I own all my cars outright. No need to sell...
  9. Yeah, turns out I was putting it in the wrong hole all these years... I kid, I kid...
  10. My wife is pregnant with our first child. Her due date is October 19th. So yeah, we're excited. Just wanted to share...
  11. I don't think I've even drank 23 beers in my whole life.

    Sad Day

I know, and I thought the 210K on my '94 Geo (same car, actually) was up there...
  13. Well, that was it. I found another cracked plug this morning, not nearly as bad as the first one though. Swapped some new ones in and it ran perfectly. I love it when it's a cheap fix. Sweet...
  14. True, I just wouldn't think wires with 10K miles on them would give me issues, but you never know. I bought new plugs tonight, I'll swap them in tomorrow and see what that does...

    Sad Day

Is there a Mom joke in here?
  16. Probably a stupid question, but there might be other reasons, this is the first I've found thus far. Since I got my '86 Mustang GT out of storage a few weeks ago, sometimes (only when in gear), the engine stutters, misfires, something. Any RPM, from barely pushing the gas to WOT. There seems to be no rhyme or reason. My gas mileage is horrible as well, I used to get about 19 in it, it was down into the 16's. So today I'm doing a total maintenance day on all the cars, and when I got to the '86, I pulled the first plug and it's cracked. Around the white part. Not sure if I did it when pulling it or if it's been like that, but I'm guessing that might be a reason for the misfire. I didn't even get to the other plugs, after I saw that, I went about the other stuff I was going to do, and I'll swap the plugs tomorrow with new ones. I don't think I've ever changed the fuel filter, I've been through a few tanks of gas since I got it out of storage, the wires are fairly new (did them about 4 years ago, along with the plugs, and I've only put 10K miles on it since then), and I can't think of anything else off of the top of my head that might cause it. What about bad timing? I haven't touched that since we added a little bit when it was on the dyno, and that was 4 years ago as well. Any other thoughts on why it might be acting this way?
  17. They don't have a quota...

    Could be. Highly unlikely...

    Sad Day

Yes. And this is more of a joke thread. I don't care that it flipped. I think it's pretty crazy that it took 23 years for this car to hit 100K miles, actually...

    Sad Day

Yesterday on the way home from work, my '86 GT went over 100K miles: http://www.wease.net/86/SadDay.JPG Bought it 5 years ago and it finally flipped...
  21. The only special plate I have is for the Cobra, and it's a "Collector" plate. I haven't done an actual vanity plate in years...

    Star Trek

From the previews I've seen, it looks bad ass. I've seen most of the movies, and watched Next Generation back in the 90's, but that's the extent of it. This could really be another good sci-fi series to enjoy in the coming years...
