I've never heard those called Banana Spiders before. Those are usually Garden Spiders or Golden Orb Weavers. I have some outside my house right now. To me, this is a Banana Spider: http://davidmichaelkennedy.com/blog/media/heather-banana-spider.jpg

I work some high school football games, at the away concession stand. The woman who runs concessions told me this past week at the stand I work in, her son saw a "black spider with an red hourglass shape on it". That can only be one type of spider. From what I just read online, I guess Black Widows are found in Ohio, just not the northern part. I've never seen one here. I don't have a big fear of spiders and I don't care about working in a place where they might be, I was just surprised to read that. Not to mention, have an eye witness sighting of one! So has anyone ever seen one in Ohio before?

A few things I'm going to comment on: 1. You WILL regret selling your car, if you do so. Especially a notch. They are so hard to find in decent shape. Just recently I thought about selling my '86, but just couldn't do it. I'd miss it too much. I was gonna sell it and buy a nice daily driver, but decided to keep it and buy my Contour instead. I'd be hating life if I sold it. You will if you sell yours. 2. You are off a bit on your Cobra prices. I haven't seen one under $20K that hasn't been wrecked and/or has tons of mileage on it. I bought mine 19 months ago for $25K, I could sell it for that or more, and it's got 4K more miles on it. Prices are holding very steady for these cars. Think Grand National and Supra. Because that's what it's gonna be like. 3. None of the cars you listed are daily drivers. Even your current Mustang doesn't qualify in my book. Too bad you can't swing the $3K - $4K into a daily driver, because that's what you need. No way would I drive my Cobra in the snow, nor my '86. Again, just my $0.02...

A Mormon was seated next to an Irishman on a flight from London. After the plane was airborne, drink orders were taken. The Irishman asked for a whiskey, which was promptly brought and placed before him. The flight attendant then asked the Mormon if he would like a drink. He replied in disgust, "I'd rather be savagely raped by a dozen whores than let liquor touch my lips." The Irishman then handed his drink back to the attendant and said, "Me, too, I didn't know we had a choice."

Yup. Just hasn't come off of Autotrader yet. I actually don't pick it up until tomorrow. Had to wait to get paid before I could give the guy the rest of the cash...

No kidding. And WTF is he hitting up a prostitute for? He's a freaking OSU Football player! You mean to tell me that guy can't get all the pussy he wants for free?! Christ, just put some effort into it, it's not that hard...

Which is why I won't touch it. This car is not for modding. CAI and shifter (if they make them) at the most...

LOL, I only ever owned one F-Body. It was fun, I loved that car. But my Cobra is far more fun...

You can live vicariously through me...

Yup. For those who don't know, it's a 195 HP / 167 TQ 2.5L DOHC V6. Not fast by today's standards (or even 1998, I guess), but I don't care. It's got some pep, is good on gas (20 - 29 MPG), and you don't see them on the road, which is always a bonus for cars that I like to drive...

I edited this thread, you need to put NWS stuff around this, even though most of us could figure it out...

Since I gave my winter beater / daily driver Geo Prizm to my daughter, I needed something else to bum around in for winter or whatever. Driving either of my Mustangs is out of the question, so I started looking around for something fun to drive with 4 doors that I could just pay cash for. I was really trying to find a supercharged Regal GS, but couldn't find any local that were the mileage, condition, and price I wanted. Then I just happened to find this: http://www.wease.net/pics/SVTContour1.jpg 1998 SVT Contour, 5 speed (of course), all available options, 78K miles, no winters, picked it up for just $5K. It's in great shape, needs nothing, runs and drives perfect. It's actually really fun to drive, for a Contour...

Actually, they don't "lower" their standard of living, they increase it, but not by getting a better paying job or paying some debt off. They go further into debt for that better house or better car. So yeah, it's a higher lifestyle in the amount of material things you have, but in the long run, it hurts you. +1 to the 401K. Every financial decision I make doesn't affect my 401K, my savings account, or my emergency fund. I still put $15K a year into my 401K (my wife puts into hers as well), and have money in other accounts if I need it. Putting money away when you are young is so important. Start with a percentage you can handle and forget about it. You don't see that money in your check, so it makes no difference. And when you can, increase it as much as you can...

That's probably one of the best things I've read on this website in a long time. I see stupid people in debt ALL the time. There are many on this website that I suspect live beyond their means. I see people who I know make far less money than I do, living it up and I wonder "How are they doing it? Are they not putting any money away?" I see two income families that have to work because their lifestyle dictates it. Two car payments, too big of a house, vacations, you name it. And then I hear about all of these bankruptcies and forclosures and it all makes sense. Living beyond your means is the root of the money/debt problems in this country. It's sickening. Be part of the solution, not the problem. There are going to be MANY people in serious trouble come retirement in this country. You don't get your spending under control and start putting money away at an early age, you will pay for it. Your style of living will change dramatically when you stop working. If you ever can stop working. These people today that live like this, they won't be able to. And social security will not what you think it will be. So you can't count on that as a large, steady stream of income...

I will have my house paid off before I'm 50 and you'll still be renting well after that. There's your difference that I see and care about. Plus the mortgage tax credit. So continue to rent your house, I'll own mine...

I go to a few Jackets games each year. I've got it narrowed down to two paths: 1. CraigsList for "good" seats (lower bowl, somewhat close to the glass) of teams that I want to see play. Like this year, I'm going to see Atlanta, Washington, and Tampa Bay. Some guy on CraigsList sold me two $71 seats for $50 each. So hitting up CraigsList for cheaper tickets is always an option for games you really want to see. 1. Huntington green seats. You can't beat this deal. It was easier when I worked near OSU, I'd just go down there a bit before 5:00 and get some seats for me and the wife. No service charge, the seats are decent, and plent of $5 parking spots around. Where I work now (Busch Blvd.), I won't be able to make it down there for these seats anymore...

You need to post pics, Fowler...
